Cosentino achieves 901million Euro turnover

The Cosentino Group reached a revenue of 901million euro in 2017,
which was a 10% increase in sales from 2016.
According to Cosentino, the profitability was proportionally greater than
the revenue growth, due to absorption of fixed costs. As a result, net
profit reached 57million, a growth of 33% more than 2016.
The company has already invested just over half (52%) of its 380million
planned investments, with the majority (70%) in product growth, such as
the opening of a second Dekton plant.

Omega invests 7.5m GBP in expansion

Kitchen furniture manufacturer Omega has announced a £7.5million
investment and expansion plan for its South Yorkshire plant. It will
increase production capacity to over £125m over two years. The

Doncaster-based company will open an 80,000sqft manufacturing and
warehouse facility, taking the single site operation
to a total of 400,000sq ft.

It will house additional storage and offices to help the company meet
increased production targets and demand for its kitchens from retail and

contract sectors.

Bathstore unveils Elle Deco collaboration

High street retailer Bathstore has partnered with interiors magazine Elle
Decoration to launch branded bathrooms and tiles, which will appeal to
its high-end readers.
Transition by Elle Decoration, which takes influence from a modern inter-
pretation of traditional styling.
Speaking about the partnership between the two brands, executive
editor Ben Spriggs commented: “The team at Elle decoration are really
excited to be working with Bathstore as our exclusive bathroom and tiles
partner. Both Elle Decoration and Bathstore share a passion for innova-
tion.”

Neolith opens fourth production line

Manufacturer of sintered stone surfaces Neolith is set to open a fourth
production line at its headquarters in Castallon, Spain, in early 2018.
The line will almost double production capabilities and will focus on
manufacturing 3mm and 6mm thicknesses in 3600 x 1200mm, 3200 x
1500mm, 2600 x 1200mm and 2800 x 1500mm sizes.
Incorporating a two storey kiln, the line will enable Neolith to meet an
increase in global demand for residential and commercial projects. Last
year, manufacturer of Neolith TheSize reported sales revenue of 100mil-
lion Euros.

Alno AG finds buyer with RiverRock

Investor RiverRock acquires “significant assets” for 20million Euros.
German kitchen furniture manufacturer Alno AG has found a buyer with

investor RiverRock in what has been called a “surprising and pleasing
turnaround” by insolvency administrators. Four days after the submission

of a purchase, Prof Dr Martin Hormann signed a contract for the sale
of “significant assets” to RiverRock which includes machinery, land and

trademark rights, for the purchase price of 20million Euros.
Watling Street Advisors, acting on behalf of new owner RiverRock, in-
tends to resume the business operations of Alno AG with the production

of kitchen furniture.

Mark Wilkinson presented posthumous award

The career of the late Mark Wilkinson OBE, founder of Mark Wilkinson
Furniture and co-founder of Smallbone by Devizes, was celebrated at the
Walpole British Luxury Awards.
He was presented the Walpole Honour Award, during a ceremony at
The Dorchester Hotel. CEO of Walpole Helen Brocklebank said: “Mark’s
work completely redefined what we understand by a beautifully designed
kitchen. Described by one critic as the ‘Mozart of kitchen cabinet
makers’, he, more than anyone was responsible for switching the focus
away from the kitchen as a utilitarian workplace and into the centre of
elegant entertaining.”

Homeowners investing in property extensions

According to Barbour ABI’s Home Improvers of Great Britain 2017
report, there has been a 6% rise in home improvement
requiring planning permission.

London planning authorities received more than 100,000 applications
in 2016, with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea as

being the number one spot for home investment. However, planning
applications increased by 14% in the East of England, which showed

the largest regional growth.
The greatest rise was in Cambridge which two years’ ago just made

it into the top 70 areas of home improvements and now is only just
behind Westminster.

is a £79 million development on the former hospital site and will consist of

46 plots last year to a predicted 180 plots this year, a substantial increase.

The expansion of the Nixons brand continues with an
exciting partnership, Nixons Project Exclusive have
teamed up with Wakefield Home Automation to provide
a unique interior solution, combining smart home
automation with bespoke furniture design.
A flagship NPE showroom will be situated in the
basement of the Bang & Olufsen store within the city
centre of Newcastle, this will be dedicated to providing
high net worth individuals with luxury interiors.
This enterprise will be headed by Lee Younger and over
seen by both Bryan Gargett and Tristram Oman, Lee
comes to Nixons with a wealth of knowledge in the
bespoke furniture sector, having both design and sold
for several years.
The Nixons Project Exclusive brand will offer a ‘full
project service’ to clients offering product not just in
the kitchen but also within bar areas, offices, media
rooms, bedrooms and dressing rooms. As part of the
restructure we will be looking to partner with other high
end kitchen brands such as Sub Zero & Wolf and Miele.
There is no limits to what Nixons NPE can do, therefore
it is an exciting time to be part of the start of something
potentially so big.

factory canteen and toilets, I’m sure you will agree they

to fill with new designers and other staff in the near future.

Future Plots Agreement

Going forward Nixons have made an agreement with Story Homes to
provide contract kitchens to their higher value plots across the North East
and North West, founded in 1987 by Fred Story they have been one of the

UK largest high quality house builders for many years with there homes
being of a very high specification.

This is a great opportunity and we look forward to a long standing
relationship with Story Homes which will hopefully lead to many more sites

in the near future!
