– Shaggy and Juju

– Our dogs Shaggy and Juju cannot be trusted when they go
outside. The times we let them go outside they look for a
way to get out of the fence. They have dug up many holes
that we have our backyard barricaded so, they can’t get out. I
let them out one morning after their bath and I realized their
collars lying next to the table. At that moment I called them
inside and there was no dog in site. I had to run out of the
house with mixed matched shoes, I grabbed what I could.
We live off a busy street and all I could think is has someone
ran off with them? I searched all the neighborhoods nearby.
These dogs never crossed my path. After driving around for
twenty minutes my husband calls to see where I am. I tell
him I coming home to make flyers because I cannot find our
dogs. He starts to laugh at me. I am so upset because how
are we supposed tell our children our dogs were lost. Then
he tells me the dogs were in the front yard when he drove up
to the house. I was so relived and upset at the same time
because I was gone for twenty minutes trying to find these
silly dogs.

– Teenage Daughter

– Having a teenager in the house has not been
easy. You think you’re going to enjoy them just
because they basically can do everything on their
own. NOT! Man I thought the baby years were
difficult and tiring wow was I wrong. I have the most
loving and best eye rolling daughter. She is only
thirteen but, man can she put me in the worst mood
when I have had the best day. The “just kidding” is
getting really old with “I thought” or “I forgot” is
just some lame excuse. She is no longer able to use
the words “it was an accident” and she is about to
lose more words from her vocabulary.

– Being a mom is the most rewarding job in
the planet but, can also be the most challenging
some days. You can win mother of the year and turn
around and loose it as fast as you got it. They know
were not perfect but try to pull the card on you
“aren’t you perfect?” I tell my husband we think we
have it bad with smart remarks right now but, we
have two younger ones that are only twenty-one
months apart I really think I can only handle one at
time.

Essay

– For all those mothers out there who want to have a
baby start out with a teenager you may change your
mind. Maybe that’s why God let us have the baby
years because he knew how difficult they would be
if he let them be teenagers first and no one would
want to reproduce. God does have a sense of
humor because raising a teenage daughter can have
its ups and downs.

– No matter what life has given me at the end
of the day I love my daughter especially when she
goes to bed peacefully because I don’t have to yell
at her anymore. I know I’m making this sound worse
than it is but, I would not trade this eye rolling
teenager. I love her with all my heart and I am
making her out to be the worst teenage there is.
Knowing she’s not the worst teenager makes it that
much better because I am blessed to have her and
God did choose me to be her mother and I have
learned to pick my battles with her sometimes.

– The Bright Light
– Where is this bright light coming from?
– Am I right, am I getting closer to heaven?
– Suddenly, there was a slamming door.
– The sound was so loud and serious.
– There were whispers coming from that light.
– Just as then the alarm went off.
– The sunlight shinning bright on my face.

Author:

Claudia Orosco

In this class I have written ten pieces of
writing. I have provided the best of my eight.
One of my favorites was my teenage
daughter. I was able to write this piece with a
lot of expression from my experience. The
reader will defiantly finish this piece to the
end.

My family is the reason I have chosen
teaching as my profession. They are my
number one priority. I hope to help others
along the way to help them grow in
knowledge.
