Being home to people with various cultural backgrounds,
Malaysia is most definitely one of Asia’s well-known
cultural melting pot. While different people may have

Thanks to the cultural diversity in the country, we all get
to savour the different flavours and speciality dishes
of each culture, anytime, anywhere-literally. Praise to

spicy nasi lemak to soft yet crispy roti canai, a hot cup of
‘kopi-o’ or teh-tarik to help satisfy our midnight cravings.
Malaysian cuisine is influenced by various cultures
from all around the world. Malaysia’s population
is made up mainly of 3 main ethnics - Malays, Chinese
and Indians, with a number of other ethnic groups living
together mostly in harmony. As a result of historical
migrations and Malaysia’s geographical advantage,
Malaysia’s culinary style is a mixture of Malays, Chinese,
Indians, Thais and Arabian cuisines - to name a few. This
resulted in a symphony of flavors, making Malaysian
cuisines highly exotic albeit a touch underrated as
compared to some of its neighbouring counterparts.

Khairul Aming or his full name Khairul
Amin Kamarulzaman is an instafamous
or celebrity Malaysian social media
cuisine. Having no formal education in the
culinary field, also originally did not think
to be involved in the food and beverage
(F&B) industry. Known for his friendly
demeanor, ‘chatty’ mouth and jokes.
Making cooking tutorial videos is

Chicken marinade ingredients:
10 pieces of chicken
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
Salt/to taste
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Sauce ingredients: Preparing chicken marinade:
5 cloves garlic Combine all ingredients and spread
4 red rice chillies
1 tablespoon oyster sauce well on the chicken.
3 teaspoons liquid soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar Bake in a water fryer or oven at 180-

LYCHEE LEMONADE Ingredients:
Maggi curry
Ingredients: 2 eggs
1 tin lychee Red onion
Squeeze 2-3 lemon Red chillies
Honey mixed with water Parsley
Mint leaves
Sour plum How to Cook Murtabak Maggi:
Plain water 1) Cook maggi in boiling water.
2) Drain after cooking.
Mix and ready to drink 3) Put the maggi in a bowl.
4) Break 2 eggs into the bowl.
5) Add some chopped shallots.
6) Followed by pieces of red chilli and
soup leaves into the same bowl.
7) Add maggi seasoning.
8) Stir in all the ingredients.
9) Pour the maggi mixture into a hot pan.
10) Once the bottom is cooked, invert the
position of the maggi.
11) Once both sides are cooked, serve on a
plate.
