An exclusive interview

From The Editor

I am super excited to be putting together and editing the first ever Forbiz
Magazine!

It is said that you are the sum total of the 5 people you hang out with
most. Who are you hanging out with? Are they embodying the qualities
you require for success? Do they share the same values that you need
for achieving the future that you are looking at? Are they of the right
mindset that you are looking for?

I am personally glad that I found some of what I am looking for at the
Forbiz platform. In this issue, we give you an idea of what has been
happening in Forbiz, then we have a note from our founder Mr. Santosh
Sharma - on how this platform started off. With that we have some
knowledge along with fun shared by our very own members and of
course, we have something very special. Every month, we choose a
Forbizian to highlight based on contribution to the platform. This month it
is Mr. Nilesh Hardikar. Let's know some more about him on professional
and personal level.

Lastly, I want to leave you with a reminder to keep learning, keep
growing, and remember to do 'Happy Business' like our founder would
say.

A Note From Our Founder

The idea of Forbiz came to me suddenly in the
middle of the night. The thought had started
building up in April 2020 and saw fruitfulness
after I met with different friends from diverse
cities who worked on dissimilar platforms. It was
a time when the world was getting acquainted
with the horrors of the pandemic and there was a
prevailing negativity witnessed all around.

The thought occurred to me that instead of being isolated and working in
our individual fields, we could collaborate and enrich from each other’s
expertise, experiences, and contacts, and build a community of small
and medium entrepreneurs to take all our businesses to new heights.
Considering that the market had taken a big hit at that time and
continues to do so, I thought it will be a great idea if we can have some
sense of positivity to have like-minded people come together and create
a collaborative platform.

Like I said earlier, the idea for Forbiz came to me in the middle of the
night. It was around 12:30 – 1AM when the idea entered my mind and
refused to go away. I was excited by the concept of synergetic working
where everyone contributed in individual and other peoples’ growth. After
singularly contemplating on the concept for about a couple of hours, I
finally gave in and messaged a friend at 2:45AM to get his opinion. Ankit
Karia is a dear friend who takes care of my finance and is a very
important part of Forbiz. I gave Ankit just 10 minutes to make up his mind
whether he was in with me in this idea and surprisingly he agreed
instantly. Soon, we were joined by many more people and Forbiz came
into existence.

In the span of one year, we have taken small but significant steps that
have proved instrumental in benefitting the members and the community
at large. Our dream is to transform Forbiz into an international platform
that would go beyond catering Indian SMEs and include businesses from

3

across the world. It is very important to know that the forthcoming global
trend is to work on collaboration rather than cooperativeness, especially
after the Covid-19 pandemic. Forbiz has already embraced that idea and
religiously working on it. Today we have 68 members with us and I am
confident that in the days to come this number would grow manifold- not
just in India but other parts of the world too.

I see a bright future for Forbiz and the people belonging to this
community. Its strength lies in its online platform that allows people from
different parts of the country to meet, connect, and collaborate easily.
Working online makes the world a very small place. It becomes far easier
to connect with the strategic partners across the globe with just a click of
a button. Secondly, the world is entering into a collaborative phase and
anyone who is associated with such collaboration is destined to go high.
Collaborative platforms like Forbiz would be highly effective in getting
people closer to strategic partners not just in the city, in the state, or in
the country, but also globally.

Thirdly, the thing that gives Forbiz an edge over similar platforms is its
collaboration with numerous corporate houses. We have taken industry
interphase very seriously and are happy that so many business leaders
from an impressive range of big companies have come forward to
support us. They have extended their helping hands not just in terms of
learning, but have also taught our members the best practices, shared
the contacts, and guided them in doing the businesses. Hence, if I need
to define the future in just one sentence then I would say- “the future is
absolutely brilliant for such type of community working online”. My
favourite line is “Come, let’s fly together”- both literally and
metamorphically.

An Interview With Nilesh Hardikar

Tell us about yourself in terms of your family & educational background.
I was born into a middle class family with two lovely sisters elder to me. I have my
lovely wife – Amruta and cute 7 year old daughter - Shriya. My parents always
imbibed a priceless value of the highest education and continuous learning concept
from my childhood. This values of education from my Parents made me have
Bachelors in Electricals Engineering but then gotten into IT field via C-DAC in IT. I
hold a Masters’ degree from the University of Warrensburg, Missouri - USA in
Information Technology – stood 2nd highest from the 2009 batch. Completed
Executive MBA in Marketing & Sales from Symbiosis University, Lavale, Pune with
distinction.
I have over 14+ years of experience in developing cutting edge software solutions in
multiple technologies, project management, and business development. I have a

implementation, and delivery.

Tabla from the past 20+ years. Apart from an IT career, Khana aur Gaana is what I
love.uuu

5

How did you enter into this field of Software and technology?

I always had the curiosity into process automations, innovations using the computers,
software & cutting edge IT technologies. Having said that I could not get the
admission for Computers & IT Engineering for my bachelors. Took this as a
challenge and after my bachelors in Electrical, I pursued C-DAC and that was my first
firm footing to get into IT field. Being an Electrical Engineer by graduation, it was very
difficult to oneself to grasp such unfamiliar and challenging technology like software,
but I made it happen through huge efforts in a short span of time.

How & when did you start your organization?

So, I am not the owner of Kennovation Software Services Pvt. Ltd. but I am one of
the first few Employees of Kennovation, started as a fresher and today after 15 years
serving the India Head and one of the Directors roles for Kennovation.
Kennovation has a unique culture of Applying Knowledge and delivering Innovations
via custom, integrated solutions into Medical Imaging, Radiology and Industry 4.0
solutions for the Manufacturing industries. I am not an Entrepreneur but I can call
myself is an Intrapreneur.

How has been your journey so far? What kind of challenges do you face & how
do you tackle those?

Well the life long journey continues… but the journey has been interesting, amazing.
Good amount of challenges – one of them specifically I remember is 0 within a
month of me going to the US for Masters, I lost my father in an unfortunate car
accident in India. I packed my bags to come back to India forever to take care of my
mother who was paralytic patient then. But, my family supported me and boosted me
to go back to the US and pursue my Masters degree. In this transition, I missed my 2
semesters’ exams but after going back to the US, I took it as a challenge gave almost

6

10 papers for both the semesters in one go and finally, stood 2nd highest in the
University and got a job offer from Bank of America. I never looked back there
after….show must go on!
One big learning lesson is focussing on the Affirmations, understanding the power of
subconscious mind.

challenges. Help Clients to achieve the Success in their

Taking my company to 10+ Cr Business by 2023 and 20+
Cr by 2025 by delivering Innovative solutions, quality
services and being a Trusted Technology Partner of our

How has been your journey in FORBIZ?

The journey with FORBIZ has been just awesome. Forbiz platform is unique in many
ways as compared to other networking platforms. The core team and members are
genuinely interested in the idea of “CONNECT, CREATE, COLLABORATE”. There
are many initiatives which are not only on the paper but actually executed religiously
such as - Learn from the Leaders, Forbiz focussed circles, Mentoring with one of the
best leaders in India, getting collaboration with international business circles etc. This
is just amazing and I definitely do recommend this platform to all the serious
business entrepreneurs who are genuinely interested in the concept of “Together WE
Grow!”.

Any message you would like to give to budding entrepreneurs.

I am too small in experience as compared to stalwarts but here it goes –
“If you wish success, make
‘Perseverance’ your bosom friend,
‘Experience’ your wise counsellor,
‘Caution’ your elder brother,
‘Hope’ your guardian angel and Last but not the least, ‘trust your abilities!’”

Retirement Planning

Night mare of Mr. Sam, at the age of seventy-three could
be yours. Outliving the money, he had planned for his
golden years is almost drained. How would he look forward
to meet his security needs? Who will pay the bills? Will I be
able to continue the same lifestyle, are the common
anxieties among the senior citizens today?

People seldom realizes, there is an equal number of non-working years during
retirement. For instance, if a man starts working at twenty-five and retires at sixty, he
worked for long thirty-five years. But, from then he has another thirty-five years to
take care of himself for research says, one among the married couples would live till
ninety-five. Even government pension schemes, have made a transition from defined
benefits to defined contribution.

You have little clue about how much would your corpus grow, and while due for the
pension, what would be the return one can withdraw is a mere speculation. Nothing
is guaranteed, neither the growth nor the pension entitled. One should keep
contributing and will have to wait till sixty to realize how much is the retirement
income? The need for an independent retirement income has evolved with changes
in social structures. The paradigm shifts from joint to nuclear family system, have an
inadvertent effect of the socio-economic conditions prevailing in the society. Relying
on children as a solution for retirement planning is just an illusion. Moreover, it is not
realistic to finance a 30-year retirement with 30 years of work. You can’t expect to put
10% of your income aside and then finance a retirement that’s just as long.

One should figure out a financial vehicle that
can give 100% guarantee on your deposits
where you can’t lose money, and keep total
control. Your account value growth will be
tied to the market, so if the market goes up,
you get to participate in the gains. But if the
market goes down, you don’t lose anything.
A guaranteed lifetime income stream where
you have control and get to decide when to
turn it on

9

Moreover, the retirement income and the corpus should be conserved in a tax-
free environment for tax efficiency is also savings. Hope is not a strategy when it
comes to your family’s well-being. Lack of income is stress. Lack of income is
struggle. Lack of income is not an acceptable outcome for you and family in
golden years. Therefore, one should be absolutely certain that you will never run
out of money regardless of how long one live.
I have enough money to retire comfortably for the rest of my life. Problem is, I

have to die next week. —ANONYMOUS
