Member TC8/SC1TC ISO TC145/SC2Onboard passenger vessels, clear escape signage is of utmost importance, as passengers are generally unfamiliar with escape routes in case of an emergency. LIGHTLINE PET-X STRIPSThe LightLine LLL System is the easiest and most cost effective Low Location Lighting system to install, requiring only the application of the LLL strips where needed. Cutting on required lengths can be done easily with a knife. The system is finalized by positioning the LLL signs/stickers at the right places. When you choose to install our LightLine system, time savings up to 200% can be achieved.LightLine Pet-X photoluminescent strips are Non PVC/Halogen-free plastic strips with backlighting material and a strong self-adhesive foam tape on the back. The material has a ‘glossy’ finish which is easy to clean and gives it a high quality appearance. The LightLine strips are available with or without 5mm safety green edges at the top and bottom of the strips.LightLine strips have a standard length of 1 m, 50 mm height and are produced with the high luminescence class XXL. All strips have a self-adhesive backing for easy fixing during new builds or refurbishment projects. ALUMINIUM PROFILES AND INSERTSOur LightLine LLL Profile System is a system consisting of an extruded aluminium carrier and rigid photoluminescent strips. We have two different types of profiles at our range; an angled or a flat profile containing a 55,4 mm wide visible backlighting strip. The performance of the rigid panels is certified by DNV.The flat profile is made of anodized aluminium and contains a central channel in which a strip of photoluminescent material is inserted. End caps are available to protect the ends of the profile. General descriptionT-ISS manufactures various photoluminescent tapes to indicate escape routes on cruise ships, ferries, roll-on/roll-off ships , offshore installations and many other vessel types. These tapes are being made using PVC, PU or PET materials. The PU material tape is especially used for applications with rounded surfaces and locations where heavy duty materials are required.All the photoluminescent tapes complies with the IMO & SOLAS regulations. The ship’s safety plan and escape calculations provide information on the primary and secondary escape routes to the assembly stations. These escape routes should be marked with the assembly station symbol for primary routes and the ‘running man’ symbol for secondary routes. This ensures that every corridor offers two escape options, avoiding dead-end situations. In such cases, escape signs should be installed every 1.5 meters. At locations where escape routes diverge towards different assembly stations, identification letters should be included for clarity.Escape routes from assembly stations to embarkation stations should also be clearly marked, using identification numbers if necessary. MEASUREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONWhy are low location lighting measurements necessary?According to several regulations, vessels that carry passengers are obligated to have a Low Location Lighting system installed. This could be a photo luminescent system as well as an electric system. A photo luminescent system is charged by the lighting on the vessel and will use the energy it collects to light up in the dark. The big advantage of this system is that there are no electric installations that need to be installed. T-ISS is accredited by DNV to execute Low Maritime Location Lighting measurement services, our certification can be found on our website. As a vessel owner, you need to test all Low Location Lighting systems at least once every five years. Our engineers will test the luminance of your LLL systems on-board with fully certified test equipment. The photoluminescence measurement process as well as equipment are all certified by DNV. Light emitting diode or LED escape signs have proven to be successful in reducing electricity consumption up to 85%.
