This book provides you with the answer on how you can become a scientist. First, a great scientist should have great ideas and ambitions. The objective of their work is to pursue true knowledge and transcend inherent thinking and technical constraints. Therefore, we must not only learn the “skills” of scientists but also their “nature”. Second, a scientist must work hard and always pay attention to the actual situations shown by objective things. Third, a scientist needs to have a right viewpoint about hardships and happiness. Scientific work is noble and great, but it is also tedious. There is no easy way out for scientific research. A scientist must not be afraid of hardships and failures. They should also not rely on material comforts or hunger for personal fame. Instead, they should be responsible for their own actions. Children, you can do your scientific research well and obtain good results if you equip what I have mentioned above. Science and technology is playing an increasingly important role in the development of a country’s social economy. The development of China’s social economy and progress of science and technology are having an increasingly important impact on the world. In a sense, the future world is mainly a competition of science and technology. Thus, the state of Qin appointed Li Bing, who was well-versed in astronomy and geography, as the governor of Shu County. He built the Dujiangyan irrigation system in which it became the “land of abundance” later. Alright!
9 Li Bing (c.302-235BC) was a famous water conservancy engineering expert during the Warring States Period (c.475- 221BC) in China. After serving as the governor of Shu County, he fully inspected the natural conditions and managed to resolve the floods in Min River. He fixed many water conservancy projects. The most famous one was the Dujiangyan irrigation system that he built with his son, which later made the Chengdu plain to be a “land of abundance” with fertile fields. Later generations built the Erwang Temple to commemorate Li Bing and his son and honoured Li Bing as the “god of rivers”. Quick Facts Yes, it is! Come and save me! Look! Radish is over there!
