What is a proper noun?

A proper noun is a unique name given to people, animals, places and
things. They always begin with a capital letter.

Adjectives

We can also use adjectives to compare people, animals, places and
things. There are three degrees of comparison.

The positive form of the adjective is used when no comparison is made.

He lives in a small wooden house.

The comparative form is used to compare two people, animals, places or
things.

The whale is bigger than the dolphin.

We usually form comparative form by adding ‘-er’ to the
adjective, which is followed by the word ‘than’.

The superlative form is used when three or more people, places or
things are compared.

Mei Mei is the shortest in her family.

The superlative form of many adjectives is formed by adding
‘–est’ to the adjective. We must use ‘the’ before the
adjectives.
