Science Club. In the pictures below, students from the club have prepared and delivered lectures to
other students of all grades on important issues that affect their daily lives.

Feed the Needy Program. The school student council collected donations from students and teachers
throughout the school and arranged for it to be distributed to local the poor and needy.

1. The Maarif Learning Gateway (MLG) – teachers can set and send homework assignments and news
events to their students, along with study resources, weekly plans and revision guides. All students
have individual accounts to access the news, assignments and standardised tests. Parents are also
issued with personal accounts through which they can track their children’s performance in terms
of academics, attendance and conduct.

2. SMS- instant messages are sent from the administration to individuals or groups informing parents
of student absence, school activities and events etc.

3. Letters- two-way communication system for parents and school staff.
4. Email- two-way communication system for parents and school staff.
5. PDAs- displayed throughout the school to communicate and exhibit student activities and

achievements.
6. Maarif Ticketing system-for parents to raise issues of concern to the school management.
7. Parent/Student Handbooks-issued to all parents/students at the start of the year containing all

teacher and administration contact details along with policies and procedures for ongoing
communication throughout the year.
8. Newsletters-to exhibit student work and advertise school events.
9. Brochures-to exhibit school facilities, developments and international achievements.
10. Phone lines-for instant two-way communication throughout the day.
11. School website-to advertise school events, facilities and updates to school practices.
12. Facebook page-for displaying student activities and events.
13. YouTube channel-for showcasing student activities and ceremonies.
14. WhatsApp groups per class-instant ongoing one-way communication between Administration,
teachers, parents and students within each class to share educational resources, send weekly plans
and study guides, send reminders for assignments, and announce important events. Please note
that these groups are not intended as forums for discussing individual issues, they are solely for
teachers and administration staff to send educational resources, careers advice, competitions,
assignments, reminders and announcements related to school/Maarif activities.
15. Dedicated parent/teacher conference room-for more detailed face-to-face meetings between
parents, administration and teachers.
16. Teacher comments and Feedback-written comments from teachers on marked student
assignments.
17. Cell phone-Mobile phone numbers of teachers are provided to parents for instant two-way
communication during work hours and at mutual times of convenience outside work hours.
Please respect the private time of teachers and administration staff. You are welcome to send
messages via SMS or WhatsApp at any time of your convenience and need, but staff should not be
expected to respond immediately. In most cases, staff will respond within 24 hours. If you need to
speak to a member of staff directly, please message them first to check if they are available to
receive your call.

We welcome parents to visit the school any day from Sunday to Thursday during the school opening
times. Please follow the following instructions for your visit:

• If you need to meet with teachers, call the administration (Student counsellor, vice principals
or school principal) to arrange an appointment.

• Arrive at gate 3 and sign the visitors book with the security guard and write your reason for
visiting.

• Proceed to the administration building and wait at the school registrar’s office. He will contact
the vice principal or school principal whom you arranged your visit with.

• Parents must refrain from entering classrooms at any time.
If you have any issue you wish to discuss concerning your son’s welfare or academic progress, please
observe the following protocol:

1. Contact the relevant teacher via the class WhatsApp groups, email or the school phone
number or…

2. Contact the relevant student counsellor or vice principal so he can investigate the matter on
your behalf.

3. If you wish to come to school to discuss the matter in person, ask the student counsellor or
vice principal to arrange a meeting for you with the teaching staff concerned.

4. If, after meeting the teaching staff and the student counsellor, you are not fully satisfied,
please request the student counsellor to arrange a meeting for you with the head of the
department concerned and the school principal and/or Education Executive Officer.

5. If, after all the previous actions, you still feel dissatisfied, you may request to meet with the
general director.
