This film includes every aspect of comedy: slapstick, punchlines and absurdity. The humor manages to

Anchorman: The legend of Ron Burgundy

Director: Adam McKay
Cast: Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell
Language(s): English
Ron Burgundy is San Diego’s top-rated newsman in the male-dominated broadcasting of the 1970s, but
that’s all about to change for Ron and his cronies when an ambitious woman is hired as a new anchor.
Ron Burgundy has become a classic comedy cult icon. His comic mannerisms are infectiously funny,
and his cluelessly narcissistic character is a joy to follow.

The Big Lebowsky

Directors: Joel Coen, Ethan Coen

Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski is the ultimate LA slacker, until one day his house is broken into and his
rug is peed on by two angry gangsters who have mistaken him for Jeffrey Lebowski, the LA millionaire,
whose wife owes some bad people some big money.
Stylish and wickedly funny black comedy filled with the trademark wit and flair of the Coen brothers,
the directors. The film is amusing, some of it is downright hilarious and all of it is stylish while leaving
you with a feeling of awe toward the craftsmanship involved.

COMEDY Step Brothers

2 Director: Adam McKay
Stars: Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Mary Steenburgen
Language(s): English
Two aimless middle-aged losers still living at home are forced against their will to become roommates
when their parents marry.
The film gives you hilarious jokes and stupidly funny absurd scenes. It’s one of those comedies that
often tries to catch you off guard and every time it absolutely nails it.

Clerks

Director: Kevin Smith
Stars: Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Marilyn Ghigliotti
Language(s): English
A day in the lives of two convenience clerks named Dante and Randal as they annoy customers, dis-
cuss movies, and play hockey on the store roof.
Rough around the edges, but that’s part of its charm. This black and white film shows a natural feel for
human comedy, and a knack for writing weird, sometimes brilliant, dialogue.

The Hangover

Director: Todd Phillips

Language(s): English
Three buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night
and the bachelor missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his
wedding.
A great comedy with well-developed characters and the ultimate “whatever happens in Vegas” story
of a bachelor party gone terribly wrong. A funny movie, flat out, all the way through, where you want to
stick around for the final credits.

Newlywed couple Teddy Bear Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a

Its comedy may not be sophisticated on its face, but the style and mechanisms behind it are delicate-
ly fine tuned.
