LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

On April 1, 2021 the Ruth Doncaster-
Smith Leadership Academy (RDSLA)
of Beta Alpha Omega Chapter of
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
launched! Ruth Doncaster-Smith was
Beta Alpha Omega’s first president.
Therefore, it is only fitting that the 1st

leadership of President Samantha
Dow-Hankerson, be named after her.

An open house was held on Thursday,
April 15th for RDSLA. Our third class
was held on June 29, 2021 where
Sorors heard what it means to be an
'ACTIVE' member of Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Inc.

The RDSLA will be an exciting
experience for members to enhance
their leadership skills within the
chapter and the sorority. A special
thank you to taskforce members
Sorors Dawn Wilkins, Laurie Johnson,
and Camelia Valdes. BAO is

TECH TEAM
IS AT THE
READY!

Sorors - Your Fearless technology team is ready and at your
service!

Introducing the SOS TECH! program - a series of one-page,
quick-hit tech tips to try as a way to troubleshoot common
technical issues. Our series starts with chapter meeting support.
Virtual meetings are the new way to connect. The Technology
Team receives several requests (typically at the start of our
general body meetings) that generally have the same themes.
Since, technology is focused on facilitating our virtual meetings,
it’s a challenge to get to every request timely. To get ahead of
this, we ask you to proactively try these steps to ensure you can
get into the meeting to enjoy the content. If you give these steps
a try and still need help, drop SOS TECH! in the BAO GroupMe
chat and someone from the technology team will assist.

If you have an idea you would like our team to explore for a future
SOS Tech edition, please email your idea
[email protected].
