THE QUEST-2020-21

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

“India has seen a dream of Digital India. From latest science
to latest technology, everything should be available at the
tip of one’s finger.”
Narendra Modi,
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India

S.K. Sachdeva

Business and Society are going through a significant and revolutionary
transformation due to speedy technological changes across the globe. The change

is particularly visible due to digitalization of almost all activities. It is an era where
building trust with customers, employees, business partners and communities is
to be brought out through a responsible approach to technology.
The advent of digital technology has greatly changed the way in which people

communicate and perform arduous and insurmountable tasks. It makes the
performance of jobs easier, safer, speedy and more economical. It is pertinent to
note here that digital technologies all over the globe have advanced more rapidly
than any innovation in history.

India is soon going to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its Independence. We as a
nation have to be modernized, competitive and wealth creators for the growth and
prosperity of our people and enjoying a place in the comity of nations. Hence, the
New India cannot wait more and lose its rightful place. We are, therefore, speediously

progressing towards digitalization to achieve sustainable development goals: from
ending extreme poverty to reducing economic disparity to provide and ensure a
decent and worthwhile life to our people.
We, at Sachdeva Public School, sincerely and strongly believe that the present

generation of students will have all the more rewarding, purposeful and eventful
role in the making and shaping of our New India. Hence, they should have a well
tuned and developed holistic personality. The School has rightly and purposely
decided to have “Living in the Digital World”, as the Central Theme of the present

edition of its school magazine: “The Quest”.
My congratulations to the Principal, Faculty, Staff and Students for their True
Visionary Thinking.
My Best Wishes to all young students of the school who are appearing at the CBSE

Examinations in May, 2021.
I also extend my Greetings and Best Wishes to the entire School Fraternity for the
THE QUEST| 2
New Year 2021.

MANAGER’S MESSAGE

“Going digital is no longer an option, it is the

default”.

Natarajan Chandrasekar,
CEO & MD Tata Consultancy Services

R.K. Sachdeva

The entire globe has shrinked and jolted by degradation of environment. It
has become a major challenge for countries all over the globe. In the event of
continuing this phenomenon for long, there is a growing danger of extinction of

the entire human race. Recently the whole world has been jolted and thrown into
despondency due to disruptions by Covid’19 pandemic. During such a distressing

and testing time, technology has proved to be a great source of strength and
confidence, required for ensuring and maintaining, keeping high morale and
confidence amongst different living beings residing on this wonderful planet-the

Earth.
On the frontline of this emergency, Digital Transformation has proved to be the

most powerful and dependable tool for mitigation of immense sufferings of all.
As a matter of fact, digital transformation is no longer optional but has become
an imperative panacea even during the post Covid’19 era.

India is playing a convincing and effective role in shaping the global eco-system
in the “New Normal”. We are aiming at providing, at the earliest;- Digital

Infrastructure, to every citizen, Digital Services and Governance on Demand
and Digital Empowerment of Citizens. In order to equip, train and enable each
of our citizens: young and not so young, all Institutions- public or private must

get increasingly involved actively in “Digital India Programmes”.
We, at Sachdeva Public School, strongly believe that the young students of today

should equip with the update technology, contemporary knowledge and effective
practical skills. I, congratulate the Principal, Faculty, Staff and Students for
bringing out the present edition of their school magazine: “The Quest”, keeping

“Living in a Digital World” as its central theme.
My Heartiest Greetings to the entire School Fraternity for the New Year 2021.

May God Bless them all with His Divine Benevolence.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most
intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to
change.” — CHARLES DARWIN

Mrs. Mona Rastogi
The year 2020 has been a game-changer for entire humanity. We have come face-to-face with
unprecedented challenges that have not only tested our endurance and perseverance but have also put
us into a total transformative situation. From living in a largely analog world, we have suddenly taken a
quantum leap into a digital one. India was at the cusp of digital transformation, with this dream peppering
the government stance on many occasions, but the COVID 19 pandemic and need to maintain social
distancing has given the dream of Digital India a jumpstart. We are now witnessing the remarkable
impact of digitalization not just in areas of innovation, science, information and technology but also, in
traditional fields such as education. From a largely teacher- centric medium of teaching and learning,
we have been pushed into adapting a more versatile blended-learning approach where technology
more than adequately supports the teacher into providing the optimum learning experience for the
students. “Technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers
is transformational.” A whole new world has opened up for all stakeholders. Schools, management,
teachers, students and parents alike are all witnessing the butterfly emerge from its chrysalis and are in
a position to grasp the potential this change has for our future. Almost all activities that required the
physical presence of students collectively are now being conducted from the safety of their homes but
without losing the human connect.
Even our personal life hasn’t been left untouched by digitalization and technology. From traditional
methods of transactions, the lockdown forced individuals to explore the various options technology
provided for them. Right down from ordering essentials for home to transacting work from home, we
have had to embrace digitalization faster than we could have ever imagined. Almost every one of us now
has an increased digital footprint with people now taking to social media faster than ever. Smart phones
and internet have become a ubiquitous presence in our lives. However, every coin has two sides and
living in a digital world comes with its own set of cautions. Too much of even a good thing is bad, and it
becomes all the more important for us to understand the repercussions of excess and unsupervised use
of digital media. Right down from digital addiction to the increased possibilities of becoming victims
of frauds and Ponzi schemes, there are many pitfalls in the path of digitalization. As parents, teachers
and mentors of the students, the onus is on us to guide our children into striking the right balance while
using social media. We need to understand the deep impact digitalization has on our lives and mind and
provide an effective support mechanism for our children while they navigate the new path to progress.

We, at Sachdeva Public School, wish to reassure you that we are with you at every step of the way while
our students turn this opportunity into a bright and shining future for themselves because only when we,
as a species, evolve and adapt quickly will we, as a nation, thrive and reach the zenith.

Teaching in the Internet age means we must teach tomorrow’s skills today.” - Jennifer Fleming
THE QUEST| 4

Dear Readers

Last one year has been an exceptional one in the history of mankind with
most of us witnessing the resilience and unwavering spirit of people first
hand. When 2020 dawned, we had never imagined what the world would be

faced with soon or how we would have to restructure our entire life to adapt
to the challenges in front of us. And yet, despite all the tough times and the
challenges, humanity has once again shown us that we can rise to any occasion
with aplomb.

This year’s theme “Living in a Digital World” aptly sums up the transformation
that we are experiencing on a daily basis. No field has been left untouched by
the rising utility of technology to ease life for us. It is not as if we didn’t
have digitization before this year, but 2020 has been a catalyst in bringing
about a sea change in our analog world. Technology has penetrated deep into
every household, rural or urban, with the field of Education showcasing many

innovations and best practices. Classrooms have modified and become entirely
digital and it has been a win- win situation for all stakeholders. From the safety
of our homes and maintaining social distancing, schools and teachers have
been working hard to reduce the learning gap in the students that the sudden
breakdown in routine that lockdown caused. And we continue to do so in the
hope that till the time we can resume our normal life, this digitization will be
our weapon in our fight to bring about quality learning for our students and to
make staying safe at home a wholesome, holistic learning experience.

We would like to thank our respected Principal Ma’am, for leading us in this
drive to be digital and all the staff and students for rising up to the occasion
and making this teaching- learning process as interactive and interesting as
any physical classroom would be. We take great pleasure in presenting before
you this year’s issue for your perusal.
