President’s Welcome Message

The Chairman, titled men and women, our special guests,
distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you here today.
You have all gathered here once more today because of
ndi Abia in New York. Your sacrifice to be here to support us
is greatly appreciated. And so, in conjunction with the
Executive, members of the Board of Directors and the entire
members of Abia State Association New York, we welcome
you and say thank you for coming to be part of us.
At our inauguration on September 12, 2015 I had said that
“ndi Abia from every part of Abia State are people that never
shrink from their responsibilities, and this is one of such
responsibilities, that we all and our children find a common place to know one another,
interact with one another, share and celebrate our culture and tradition with one another"
and on October 12, 2017 at the Abia State National Convention here in New York, I also
said that "From the onset, we knew our direction, we knew we had responsibilities, we
knew we had to introduce changes, we knew we had to stand for difficult things".
Today we have gathered to witness the beginning of the fulfilment of the promise to find a
common place for interaction, education, promotion of our culture and tradition and
better upbringing of our children. Our proposed Youth Event Center will be a model for
an in depth understanding of Igbo language that is quickly heading into extinction.
As a man of few words but action oriented, I put my Heart, Soul and Mind in things I am
committed in, like this project that intends to help in the re-invigoration of interests in our
language, culture and tradition.
The help you give for our youths today, will make an everlasting impact in the cultural and
traditional transformation of our society.
I give special thanks to the organizing committee for a job very well done, to the members
of the executive, our dearest women and the entire members.
I immensely thank my wife Lady Ihuoma Ajomiwe-Nwakanma for her untiring support
and to my children for adopting and exemplifying this transformation.
We thank you all for coming to support us and hoping that you will enjoy every beat of
stay with us today. And as you return to your various destinations at the end of our event,
May the Almighty God grant you all journey mercies in Jesus Name we pray. Amen
