service to our community!
Plans are underway for some awesome activities and service projects this year.
Our meetings are typically held every second Sunday, with the exception of November and February. For those months,
and any other unforeseen changes, kids and parents will be notified prior to the date change.
For the 25th Anniversary of the SVS (September 22,) the Fellowship children worked on preparing a recitation, complete
with original drawings, by Michelle Haklin Ryan. The piece entitled “A Journey Through the Life of Blazeni Anton Martin
Slomsek.” The Fellowship would like to thank Michelle for not only writing the script, but for her countless hours creating
beautiful artwork for our performance!
First “Official” gathering of the Fellowship

“mystery” saint. We will also be completing a super cool craft.
All kids are welcome to join the Slovenian Catholic Children’s Fellowship! For any questions, please reach out to Dawn

Retreat House News
In the last month, we replaced the wood that was used to close up the outside entrances to the downstairs women's
bathrooms with architectural stone that was donated by the Voss family. We found matching brick and will now be
closing up the upstairs outside door, that lead to nowhere, as well as the kitchen ventilator openings.
Thanks to Karl Hren Sr. and Gary Wolman, we are almost finished painting the downstairs hallways. We have started
to remodel the chapel. We will be taking out the upper part of the room, that was once used as a confessional. We
will lower the old altar to permit us to take out steps to enlarge the area for co celebration. The fake pillars in the
sanctuary will go away to help us make the sanctuary exits ADA compliant.
We have negotiated a price with an elevator firm to install a lift, which will go in the front side of the dining room. We
have another $8,000 to raise, so please visit our Gofundme page under Baraga St. Mary Retreat House. Visit our
website: BaragaSMRH.com.
There is a Men's Retreat starting with registration at 6pm on Friday November 1st and continuing to about 3pm on
Saturday. The cost is only $45. It is open to all men. The Retreat Master is Deacon David Brencic whose
grandparents lived by St. Stephen's.
Note from Deacon John:
We will be holding a Christmas Concert with a variety of choirs participating. We are exploring dates as early as
Thanksgiving weekend and as late as the first weekend in January. Stay tuned for an email announcement!
