Uganda Airlines

Set to start flights to
Zambia and Zimbabwe

Uganda Airlines is set to start direct flights from Entebbe to Lusaka and Harare, by end of April
2020.The development is in an effort to add value to travellers who currently spend five to seven
hours on indirect flights destined to the two destinations. It will now take less than four hours
with the national carrier which has been in operation for over three months now following its
revival.

This will be the 8th and 9th route that the airline is flying.This follows the successful launch of
direct flights to Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam in November 2019. The East African landlocked
country gets over 90% of its cargo from these two cities, each with major ports.
Deo Nyanzi is the airlines Head of Marketing and Sales. He observes that they are banking on such
new routes, to help boost trade and tourism between these countries. As is currently the case
with flights to Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam, the new routes will also be served with three flights
per week. Fortunately, the airline now has four 76 Bombadier CR900 planes in its fleet.

In agreement with Nyanzi, Andrew Tumusiime, Uganda’s head of administration for the airline
observes thatTourism is Uganda’s biggest foreign earner.We thus hope to capitalise on the flights
to bring visitors for holidays to Uganda’s national parks after their visits to iconic places like
Victoria Falls.

That big advantage here is that the East African tourist visa is still at $50, offering foreign
residents’ access to Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya at no extra cost. It operates in the same way as
the Schengen Visa which allows tourists affordable access to 26 European countries including
Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Switzerland
among others.

it seems, fashion isn’t being left behind.
It’s being tackled with the same energy

conscious brigade that lives by their rules.
So, in the same breath, they are changing
the way traditional weddings have always
been.The suits and ties were shipped here
by the Europeans and, like everything else
imported, they stuck. Movies and western
magazines have since added more ingredi-
ents and verve to this cause.

Apparently, girls are joining the groom’s
entourage and wearing like the gentle-
men. Have you seen those pictures? They
are beautiful yet hilarious in equal
measure.The girls don’t want to be left
out of the fun.They stylishly rock
matching suits and ties and pull off an
attention-grabbing look.There are a
couple of pictures that have been trending
on social media about this new style and,
unsurprisingly, people have embraced
them. People have hailed these girls for
their bravery.They have hailed them for
breaking free and dismantling the norms.
Tables are being shaken. Closets are being
shut.Tailors are out of business. New
styles are being invented. People are
