Rudy’s Thoughts “league

Good afternoon and welcome to all who have made the journey position and

we have never played against before. Considering that both
teams have had to go through two rounds to reach this stage, I
am sure that we are in for a good contest this afternoon.

What a game we had last Saturday and what a result we
achieved. To come back from two goals down at half-time to
beat a top team like Frickley, who were also unbeaten, is a
brilliant result and myself and my staff were absolutely
delighted with the team after the full-time whistle.

We could have made changes at half-time but we stuck to our
game plan because we believed in what we were doing, and
that bravery paid off and showed that we can beat anyone in
this division when we play at our best.

For the last two seasons we have reached the Third Qualifying
Round of the FA Cup. We are just two wins away from
extending that record and one extra win away from making
more AFC Mansfield history. Being a division above our
opponents today, we obviously label ourselves as the
favourites but we will respect our opponents and treat this
fixture like any other game. Like they say, league position
and form don’t matter in the cup.

Let’s carry on our great work from last weekend and
continue our run in this fantastic old competition.

Thank you all for your support, enjoy the game and
have a safe journey home.
