What is a SDG? Now, you might be wondering, what is a SDG? Well SDGs are sustainable development goals. They show people different types of issues in a bunch of different categories around the world. They were made to make the world a better place and to improve certain problems. Whats quality education? Ok, so now that you got a good view of a SDG, I’ll tell you about quality education. Quality education is people having good education, and not worrying about their education. Also, quality education can relate to gender. For example, a lot of places around the world treat girls unfairly for education. So when you are talking about quality education it can mean, good education for people, but it can also mean women being treated more fairly. Chapter 1: Overview of the SDG quality education

Chapter 2: Education around the world Imagine education is so bad in your country that almost half of the population is out of school. Imagine not knowing if you will ever have an education in your whole life. This is what it's like for many countries in Africa. Tons of countries in Africa have the opposite of quality education. Now they struggle with having enough money for kids to be in school. And out of school rates are through the charts but they can’t do anything about it.

Where is education worst? In this chapter, I will be talking about the out of school rates in Africa. Education is the worst in Africa. In Africa, the majority of countries have a high out of school rate. Sustainable development goals say that education in sub-Saharan Africa is where education is the worst all around the world. In sub-saharan there are countries with 40% or more out of school rates making them have the highest out of school kids percentage. According to the article Reducing global poverty through universal primary and secondary education “More than half of all youth are out of school in sub-Saharan Africa (57%),” I wonder if the cause of poor education in sub-Saharan Africa is different than other countries. Out of school rates in Africa. Africas out of school rates are crazy high. A map from Sustainable Development goals shows that a decent amount of African countries have a 20% or more out of school rate. They also have a very high poverty rate. That is a very high out of school rate, so education in Africa is the worst. How is education worse in some countries, than others? Education is worse in some countries than others. One of the main reasons countries' education is’t good is because of poverty. Countries with high poverty rates usually have not so great education, because kids either just don’t want to go to school, or frankly, the schools don’t have enough money to get a good education.

Chapter 3: What causes poor education, and how it is ‘poor’ education. What's poverty’s role in education, and how does it affect it? You're stuck in a home with little to no money each day. Now on top of worrying about your health and safety, you have to worry about education. Lots of kids around the world deal with poverty and have to go to school. And some girls are denied education just because of their gender. In this chapter, I’ll cover poverty’s role in education, and trust me it's a big one. How girls are treated unfairly in education. Therefore, part of the way to improve education is to lower poverty rates.

Now, what out of school rates are. In tons of countries struggling with education, poverty plays a giant role in it. When countries are in deep poverty they can barely afford food, or essential things to survive. So struggling with that is hard enough, but then they also have to think about education. Countries can’t afford a good education, or even teachers to give education. Now, even if a country in poverty has education a lot of kids won’t go to school because their parents might have them help with work. Countries should really be focusing on lowering poverty to improve education. How are girls treated unfairly in education? Girls are treated way unfairly in education. All around the world girls are treated super unfairly and lots of times are denied the right to education. Now in the U.S. almost all of the gender equality around education has been fixed. But all around the world, there are girls not being able to get an education just because of their gender. That is truly terrible and really needs to come to an end. What's an out of school rate? An out of school rate is the percentage of kids out of school in a country. Countries around the world have high out of school rates but it is worse in Africa. The reason it's highest in Africa is mainly poverty. Out of school rates are the worst in Africa. According to UNESCO Institute for Statistics database, the majority of countries have 10% or more out of school rates, and a big amount of 20% or more out of school. That is an insane amount of out of school kids and that hopefully will change in the future.

Chapter 4: how is education being improved around the world? Imagine being a kid in a country with a really bad education that never goes to school. Then all of a sudden some organization educates you. Countries in the past have had no hope for education, but now multiple organizations are helping with education. That has improved education around the world a lot. In the fourth and final chapter I will cover what organizations help with education around the world, now on top of that they have helped, how gender discrimination has improved, and the best way to help and have a say in education. What organizations are helping with education? The world bank, and GPE out examples of organizations helping with education around the world. Both those organizations show how much they want better education all around the world. These organizations have helped and I believe they will continue the world's growth in education. Considering how much these organizations have helped already, there should be more organizations just like them.

How much these organizations have helped. Those organizations have helped A LOT of countries around the world. Both of their websites have shown amazing results. On GPEs website they say that they've helped over 160 million people in partner countries, and they aren't done yet. Now on The World Bank website, it doesn’t say the total number, but it shows that hundreds of thousands of kids in many countries have been helped with education. It is crazy to me that they have helped that many people, now just imagine how many more they’ll help in the future. What about gender discrimination, how has that improved in education? In education, there is a lot less gender discrimination. In the 1900s girls were treated very unfairly in education. Their school sports were way under budget, and very often colleges would decline them just because they were women. The United Nations says “ Historically, girls and young women were more likely to be excluded from education.” Now on the other hand Men's sports had all the money in the world, and they would get accepted very easily. Until one day Bernice Sandler wanted that to change. She made people around the world realize how unfair education was by doing many tests. After a bunch of her research the IX Education Amendments Act was formed and education for women improved a lot. Their sports teams had money, and they are no longer getting declined just because they are women. It's cool how just one person who realized the wrong, can make a giant change

in the world. How has education improved around the world? Education around the world has improved a decent amount, but it still needs some work. Due to poverty and just the lack of kids wanting to go to school, schools are under-budgeted in countries, and can’t do much for themselves. Although, in the past year's organizations have been made and helped countries improve education. GPE and The World Bank have helped countries with education and have helped them improve the number of kids in school, create schools in countries, and help find teachers for schools. On GPE’s website they state “With GPE's support, partner countries are building stronger education systems that give children a quality education, putting them on the path to reach their full potential and contribute to more sustainable, peaceful and resilient societies.” These have really helped a lot and so many rates have lowered because of these. Although it has helped a lot, there's still so much more to do that they can’t do in a small amount of time. I believe that in the future education will be way better than it is now. Ways to help with education. Signing up or donating to an organization is the best way to help without it being really hard. You can help in many ways but really the easiest way is to donate to an organization. If you wanted to start your own organization that would be really hard and really expensive, now yes it would help millions more, but it’d just be really hard.
