Principle Of Teaching

Being an educator is not like any other profession. The
future generation is depending on us. And the great leaders
were shaped by us. As for pupils, knowledge comes from

the acceptance of learning. As for teacher,
knowledgeable and genuine teaching is the key
to touch the pupils' heart. Although it is normal
to make mistakes as the teachers are also a
human, but a teacher is a role model after

the parents for pupils to imitate.
Therefore, teachers
should be taking

care of their own behavior,
disciplinary, professionalism, and
their looks especially when presented
at the work place and in front of the
pupils. Humans also comes with various
background and behavior, it is very
important for a teacher to embedded
the sympathy and empathy to have better
understanding on pupils.

MicroTeaching

The EED21604 Microteaching class by madam Nirmala Rajoo
has taught me a lot to be a great teacher for my future
pupils. Microteaching class is not only set me to be a teacher,
but also helped me to widen my views on human behavior,
surroundings, the growth of a human being, the updated news.
and innovation of the teaching skills and technologies. I believe
throughout the Microteaching class, it
creates the future educators with
qualities and filled with knowledge.
With Microteaching class also set
my view and mindset to educate the
future generation to be a
useful person in future and
makes our country to move
forward and advance in everything.
Microteaching class is not only
important but also gave a very
memorable moments with beloved
lecturer and classmates.

16th February 2022
(Wednesday) - W1

On the first day of Microteaching class, Madam
Nirmala briefed the SOW for this semester and
explained the assignments and projects in details of
this class.

18th February 2022
(Friday) - W1

Madam taught the in-depth regarding 21st
century learning and microteaching, the
implementation of CEFR, 4 skills, and themes in
lesson plan.

23rd February 2022
(Wednesday) - W2

I had to attend the class online due to close contact
with family. Madam taught us on the implication of
S.M.A.R.T and how to write a proper Learning
Objectives in Lesson Plan.

2nd March 2022
(Wednesday) - W3

I am back to physical class and survived from quarantine.
As for this class, madam Nirmala taught us on the very
beginning of the lesson which is Set Induction. Other than
that, we also learned on the strategies, activities to teach,
and rules in teaching.

(Friday) - W3

due to Physiotherapy

9th March 2022
(Wednesday) - W4

In this class I learned and identified the appropriate
teaching aids for the classroom. After that, madam
assigned us in a breakout room to list out 5
different teaching aids by using the software.

11th March 2022
(Friday) - W4

The first Mockteaching was conducted online
during the tutorial class. Pupils take turn to
present their Pre-lesson (set induction) and gets
feedbacks from 3 pupils and madam Nirmala. This
was my first time to teach online and I got really
nervous. Madam gave positive feedback for my
presentation except she saw I nervous was I.

16th March 2022
(Wednesday) - W5

Presentation for Assignment 1 (Tools For Online
Teaching). Each group takes turn to present but only
1 representative to present the whole materials and
the other group members has to be ready for Q&A
session. Our group received positive feedback from
Madam Nirmala and the presentation went well.

18th March 2022
(Friday) - W5

The continuation presentation of Mockteaching
for Set Induction physically for those who hasn't
present yet. It was a shocking moment for TESL
pupils to "learn" the Science subject by BES
pupils.

23rd March 2022
(Wednesday) - W6

I don't remember on why did I attend the class

through zoom, but at least I attend the class hehe.

Madam Nirmala taught us on the engagement with

the students by stimulus variation and classroom

management. This is the scariest topic I ever learn

throughout Microteaching class because I realised as

a teacher, we need to handle with students

behavior.

(Wednesday) - W7

It was one of the most fun class (although all the
Microteaching classes are fun). We learned on the
strategies on how to handle the pupils who
responded or don't by using the questioning
technique. After that, we played a fishing quiz game!

1st April 2022
(Friday) - W7

Pupils were required to present any topic that is
out of the DSKP. The purpose of presentation to
learn on grabbing the attention from the audience.
Presenter has to select another presenter once
they have presented their materials. The audience
are open to give the feedback after the
presentation.

The presentation of Assignment 2 (ESL blog). Each
group takes turn to present their educational blog.
My group was the first group to present. But only
the representative had to present the blog. We only
presented the activities of the blog. And we received
positive feedback from madam Nirmala

Pupils has to create a group to conduct their
Mockteaching on the During Lesson part of Lesson
Plan. The presentation was conducted through pre-
record due to madam Nirmala unable to conduct
the tutorial class. My online teaching is getting
better and received positive feedbacks from the
groupmates.

20th April 2022
(Wednesday) - W10

In this class we learned regarding the positive and
negative reinforcement to encourage the pupils to
be good and better. As we know, good behavior will
be rewarded.

22nd April 2022
(Friday) - W10

Madam Nirmala created a wheel of fortune filled
with pupils' name to draw out for IMPROMPTU
TEACHING. Pupils were required to teach the class
spontaneously and the teaching aid can only be
used on Smart TV at M803 .

Due to Madam Nirmala had to attend the Audit
Workshop, we had a REPLACEMENT CLASS on
the Tuesday night through Google Meet. Madam
Nirmala taught us on the Closure part of the
Lesson Plan

29th April 2022
(Friday) - W11

Before the class begin, Madam Nirmala played the
Hari Raya playlist while waiting for the pupils to
join the Zoom. Madam Nirmala asked some of the
students on what can be done on the Closure part
of the Lesson Plan. We were assigned to
demonstrate the Closure with a discussion through
the breakout room.

Madam Nirmala taught the us on how to conduct
the activities in each lesson and skills. The skills are
Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. And the
lessons are Pre-lesson (set induction), During Lesson,
and Closure.

(Wednesday) - W14

Madam Nirmala taught the us on the technique and
skills to write on the whiteboard. I identified a
technique which a teacher look at their pupils to ask
the question and write the answer on the board.
The best part is, when everyone gets to write a
sentence on a whiteboard for madam to give the
example the most appropriate handwriting.

20th May 2022
(Friday) - W14

In this class we were assigned in the breakout
room to write briefly on the whole lesson plan
and Madam Nirmala give the feedback based on
the details that need to be fixed.

Acknowledgment

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to madam Nirmala
for the opportunity to attend and acquire knowledge in
Microteaching class. Madam Nirmala conducted her classes
with a great attitude that makes me look forward to her
class to learn more and being knowledgeable to prepare me
and my classmate to be an excellent teacher. Other than
preparing us to be a teacher, she also taught me and my
classmate some of soft skills throughout our presentation.
And the assignments and projects would not have been
possible without my groupmates which are Natasha, Alia,
Fatihah, and Hakim. My groupmates had been very
cooperative and provide me with a lot of advice and
knowledge on completing the assignments and projects.
Microteaching class has been nothing but wonderful
experience to me. I will make sure to use all of the knowledge
that has been taught by madam Nirmala for practicum and
future references.
