02 Introduction Muzium Negara Wayfinding System Guideline Manual provides a clear strategy for the design and installation of wayfinding and signage systems at Muzium Negara. The purpose of the Wayfinding System Guideline Manual is to solve the problem of the inconsistent if existing signages and the lack of signages in Muzium Negara. This manual is to ensure the consistency and able to make people easy to read and understand the signages. The signages are able to inform, direct, and guide people to have a great experience in Muzium Negara. The manual provides information on how to design and specify the complete range of sign types required for effective wayfinding and identification of Muzium Negara. The manual describes the principles of the wayfinding strategy and details the range of approved sign types, visual and graphic standards. MUZIUM NEGARA WAYFINDING & SIGNAGE GUIDELINE MANUAL 01 : ABOUT MANUAL Every signage is assigned with a code and categorized based on their location. Such as: EX = Exterior Signs IN = Interior SIgns Different sign types are used in different situations based on the factors such as purpose, physical context, or significance. Each sign type is identified by a number following the sign category letters (e.g. IN 1 is a different sign to IN 2 ). Minor differences of a sign type that falls in the same set of category, they are identified by an alphabetical suffix (e.g. IN 1a, IN 1b, etc).
