James Byun, Global Vice President, Auto
James Byun is Global Vice President of Auto for Gracenote responsible for delivering next-
generation automotive infotainment systems to carmakers worldwide. Prior to joining Gracenote,
James was VP and GM of the Automotive group at SiriusXM where he worked with top tier
AUDIO UNIVERSITY automakers to integrate advanced technologies including Telematics and connected vehicle services.
James has an investment banking background having worked at Lehman Brothers in New York,
specializing in M&A in the telecommunications and media industries. He received his B.A. from
Brown University.
Ted Cardenas, Vice President of Marketing, Pioneer
Electronics (USA) Inc.
As vice president of marketing for Pioneer’s Car Electronics Division, Ted Cardenas is responsible
for overall brand strategy, sales initiatives, promotional activities and advertising. Ted began his
more than 18-year career at Pioneer as a product specialist, providing training and support for
car and home electronics dealers and in 1997 he was promoted to district sales manager, covering
the Northwest Territory. In 2000 Ted moved to Pioneer’s headquarters in Long Beach, Calif. and
became brand manager for the mobile business group’s marketing division. In 2007, he moved into
a management role within Pioneer’s product planning department, working closely with Japanese
engineers and design teams across all U.S. mobile electronic product lines. In February 2009, he
became director of marketing to help promote the category through advertising, public relations
and sales promotions. In early 2012 Ted was promoted from director to his current role as vice president of marketing.
Since 2007, he has been an active member of the CEA Automotive Electronics Division Board.

Papermoon Gypsys will give you a big dose of Blues
at it’s core and a wild side of Rock and Roots added to T.H.E. LOUNGE
create their own unique blend.
Kenny started playing at age 7 and went on to learn
theory with jazz guitarist Mark Anthony. Kenny also
T.H.E. LOUNGE
studied a year with classical guitarist Roberto Torres.
Later, before she was famous, he studied tapping with
Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson) and before touring
with country band, Big Sky, studied with telecaster
maniac, Will Ray (Hellacastors).
During the 80′s Kenny made a name for himself on the
Sunset Strip with heavy metal band, Defiant and had his
song “Nightstalker” played on local radio KNAC. It was
on solid rotation at hundreds of college stations around
the country which put him in the encyclopedia Metellum
also earned a degree in sound and video engineering. He
attended at the Institute of Audio/Video Engineering.
These days he has succeeded in bringing a whole music
scene to beach town Dana Point, with the city’s first
music store and school. Even though there have been
imitations, Kenny has tried to bring the quality of LA
musicianship to Orange county. He has sought out the
best of the best musicians and teachers to bring a quality
of education that can’t be surpassed.
Kenny currently is the leader of the Papermoon Gypsys,
in which he plays guitar. The band has been taking the
southern California area by storm.
