2Brooks & District MuseumHeritage Fall FairSeptember 12, 2026Rules and Regulations· All registration entry forms must be delivered to the Brooks & District Museum no later than Thursday September 10, 2026 at 5:00 PM.· All exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor, and not previously shown in the Brooks & District Museum Fall Fair.· ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PROPERLY TAGGED. Tags are available at the Museum Front desk.· All items except the Handicraft Category must be submitted for competition between Friday September 11, 2026, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM or Saturday September 12 from 8:45 AM – 10:00 AM.· Handicrafts and Hobbies Category will be accepted from Monday to Thursday until 5:00 pm.· No exhibits may be removed before 4:00 PM Saturday September 12, 2026.· No more than one entry per category, per exhibitor.· The Brooks & District Museum will not be liable for any loss or damage to items submitted.· All items submitted must have been made, grown or produced by the exhibitor. The judges may open bottles or jars, cut baked goods or produce and taste foods.· Prepared products sold commercially are not eligible for competition but can be placed with the associated category with a “Display Only” tag provided by the organizer.· Amateurs may exhibit. Professionals may display.· Exhibitors will give the necessary attention to their exhibits and, at the close of the fair, take charge of the same. The Brooks & District Museum Fall Fair Committee will endeavour to prevent damage to all exhibits, but will not be responsible for any damage that may occur.· Exhibitors must conform to the description of the category.· Fall Fair open to the public at 12:00 PM September 12, 2026· Antique Tractor Parade at 1:30 PM on September 12, 2026.


3Fees and Prizes• There will be no entry fees for 2026 per category.• In the absence of competition in any category, the judges will award prizes only as they see fit. One entry in a category does not guarantee a prize.• Prizes for 2026 will be ribbons – First, Second and Third.• Ribbons will be placed on or beside the entry.CATEGORY 1: VEGETABLES & FRUITClass: 1A. Vegetables• All produce must be grown by the exhibitor in their own garden.• All vegetable stalks should be cut down to 1 inch.• All produce should be shown cleaned but otherwise in its natural state and not polished.• Please provide the variety names for all categories on the entry tag.Section:1. Beans: Green, 52. Beets: 3 roots tops trimmed3. Cabbage: 1 head4. Carrot: 4 long tops removed to 1 inch (2.5 cm)5. Corn: 1 ear with husk 6. Cucumbers: 2 slicing – over 6 inch (15 cm)7. Onions: 2 bulbs - 2 inch (5 cm) in diameter8. Peas: 5 pods unopened9. Peppers-hot variety: 2 fruits10. Peppers-sweet variety: 2 fruits11. Potato: 3 tubers12. Squash: any variety13. Zucchini largest, heaviest weight14. Novelty Vegetable: odd shaped or unique

5CLASS: 2A: FLOWERS AND PLANTS• All flowers or plants must be grown by the exhibitor.• Containers must be provided by the exhibitor with the exhibitor’s name affixed to the bottom out of sight. Pot or vase is also judged so ensure it is also attractive.• Floral gel, a flower collar, or water beads are helpful in holding stems in place.• Keep leaves and petals out of water for the best chance of a fresh display.• Measure and be sure of your entry size to ensure it is entered in the correct category.• Potted plants - Outdoor potted arrangement no bigger than 24 inches (60 cm)Section:40. \"The Masterpiece\" Arrangement: The most visually striking floral arrangement in any container. Focus on color harmony and design.41. Miniature Beauty: A floral arrangement in a small container (under 6 inches/15 cm).42. Single Specimen: One perfect bloom (Begonia, Geranium, Gladiolus, etc.).43. Hanging Basket: Most visually striking outdoor arrangement (max 24 inches/60 cm).44. Potted Plants (Indoor): African Violets, Succulents, or any other healthy potted plant.

7CLASS:3: BAKING• No commercial mixes may be used.• Submit all items in clear, new plastic or Ziploc-style bags.• Please provide recipes for all items submitted.Section:50. PhotographyAll Photographs will be accepted from Monday, September 7 to Thursday, September 10, until 5:00.• All photos can be in either colour or black & white, should be 5 x 7” and mounted onto mat or paper with a maximum 1” border. 9CLASS: 6A: YOUTH CATEGORIES• These categories are for youth aged 13 or under and should be the result of their own personal efforts. The Collection of Vegetables Category should feature items grown by the youth. The Vegetable Sculpture does not have to be grown by the youth but must be sculpted by the Youth. Section:100.
