MSDSs, which is redefined as SDSs under GHS and remain the backbone of HCS and WHMIS compliance. Under GHS, SDSs are presented in a 16 section format with a required ordering of sections. It is essentially the ANSI Standard for SDSs, with a few minor tweaks. The sections, in order, are as follows: - The Safety Data Sheet plays a prominent role in hazard communication according to the GHS. - The document follows a 16 chapter format with the hazard information, including the labeling information, to be shown in section 2 (Hazard Identification). - In the EU the requirement is to include both the old EU and the GHS classifications during a transition period that expires June 1, 2015. The US MSDS will show the GHS classification in section 2. APAC SDS will follow the local GHS rules, which require minor changes in various sections. Below you will find the updated section 2 and 14 of the EU GHS SDS for Acetonitrile. SDS GHS COMPLIANT SDS www.lobachemie.com xiii
ANALYTICAL REAGENTS (AR) : Reagents useful for analytical purpose and research work where high purity is essential. The certificate of guarantee give the minimum assay and maximum limits of trace impurities. This is similar to grade marketed by other International companies as, Analar, P.A.- (Proanalysis), ARAnalytical Reagent Puriss. SYNTHESIS : General purpose reagents used in many potential applications in chemical laboratories. Careful control ensures that a consistently high defined quality is maintained throughout. LABORATORY REAGENTS (LR) : Pure, Extra Pure, Purified commercial products used in many chemical laboratories. HPLC GRADE : Continuing advances in the use of HPLC have lead to an increased demand for solvents and reagents in wider range of application areas, particularly for biomolecular and ion separation. Key parameters such as UV absorbance, transmittance, non-volatile matter, moisture content, fluorescence impurities and assay are very carefully controlled. SPECTROSCOPY GRADE : These are solvents of high optical purity for UV/Visible/IR/Fluorescence/NMR and Mass spectroscopy. The certificate of guarantee includes assay, minimum transmission at certain defined wavelengths in UV range, moisture content, non-volatile matter etc. DIAGNOSTIC REAGENTS : These are specially produced for the use of various hospitals, clinical & pathological laboratories for diagnostic purpose. BIOLOGICAL STAINS : These chemicals are provided as power and ready to use solutions for Microbiology, Histology, Haematology and Cytology. Stringent testing on all batches is performed to ensure all specifications are satisfied. They correspond normally to the specifications given in H.J. Conns Biological Stains (1977). BIOCHEMICALS : Highly purified reagents for use in biochemical research and analysis. They are free from inhibitors such as traces of heavy metals and tested with a view of biochemical work. Our range includes alkaloids, amino acids, buffers, carbohydrates, enzymes, enzyme substrates, nucleotides and derivatives etc. MICROBIOLOLOGY : A broad range of culture media bases, additives, stains and indicators for use in detection, growth and identification of microorganisms. ION PAIR CHROMATOGRAPHY : Highl y pure additi ves for ion pai r chromatography are suitable for detection in the low UV range. Reagents of this special quality inspected by means of a fi lter test, a cyclovoltagram and gradient test at 205 nm PESTICIDE RESIDUE TRACE ANALYSIS SOLVENTS : The range of high purity solvents Pesticide Residue Trace Analysis has been specifically designed for the analysis of pesticide residues in the food industry and in the environmental control, for example in drinking water. Our solvents are carefully controlled by Gas Chromatography. The analysis is made over a sample 500 fold concentrated. Then the sample is injected in the Gas Chromatograph using the ECD detector. SINGLE ELEMENT STANDARD SOLUTIONS FOR AAS, ICP : We have introduced Ready for use Single Element Standard solution for trace metal analysis in AAS & ICP. ICP and AAS standard solutions supply by us have following features: Ÿ Each element solutions are traceable to NIST. Ÿ Manufactured from the high-Purity D.I.
