Also my congratulations to your families for their endless support during
your studies at the EMU. Your studies at the EMU have prepared you for a
world of expanding horizons and exiting challenges. Because of what you have
accomplished at the EMU you are positioned to have better opportunities
and contribute more to the communities in which you live. Graduation is an
important milestone in your lives.
Choose wisely as you make your own way by setting new goals to find the
opportunities that are waiting for you. Your future accomplishments will
honor us. Do stay in touch with us. I hope you have enjoyed your experience
with your department and wish you success for your career.

Dear Graduates,
Your long time hard work finally paid off and you’ve joined the global engineering
community. I once again congratulate you and your families for this very well deserved
achievement. We, as your instructors and assistants are proud to have contributed to
your education, but our words are over and now it’s your turn to talk. As you embark on
the next chapter of your lives, I would like to take this opportunity and remind you the
importance of human relations in the real world. Indeed relationships matter, but the
real ones. So next time you are about to e-mail a co-worker, just hit the delete key, take
the elevator or walk down the hall, and talk to them instead. Just be there, get to know
them and let them know you. Because if you ever want to be a leader, being online is fine
but being there is necessary. Most people, despite where they sit in the hierarchy, can
be a mentor to you about something. So try to listen to every voice. Humility is a virtue
and will make you smarter and of course a winner. You should expand the organization’s
expectations of you and exceed them. Although you are equipped with all the technical
knowledge and skills, while designing systems you should keep in mind that there will
always be resistance toward paradigm shift, and the performance of your designs will
highly depend on the faith and motivation of employees that will actually run the systems.
Therefore you should always appreciate the value in people and act accordingly. Within a
short time period each of you will be working in different workplaces of different sectors
and in different areas and responsibilities. Some of you will even be the owner of his/her
own business. But in whatever situation you will be, you have one common thing that
you are all graduates of this Department. You should always be in touch with your friends
and the Department. It is therefore of extreme importance that you join our Alumni
list (http://alumni.ie.emu.edu.tr) for all kind of professional exchanges. I wish each and
every one of you a very bright future and career.
Değerli Mezunlarımız,
Yoğun bir süreci başarı ile tamamlayarak dünya mühendisler ailesine katılmış bulunmaktasınız,
sizleri ve ailelerinizi tüm kalbimle kutlarım. Burdan sizlere yaşamınız boyunca hiçbir
zaman vazgeçmemeniz gereken bazı erdemleri hatırlatmak istiyorum. Bunların en önemlisi
insan sevgisidir. Özellikle eniyileme derslerinde öğrendiğiniz, birtakım kısıtlar altında kar
enbüyüklemesi, ya da maliyet en küçüklemesi problemlerinde gözönüne aldığınız bütün
unsurların birimi “parasal” idi. Ancak çağdaş mühendisler olarak alacağınız kararların firma
çalışanları, toplum ve çevremiz üzerinde yaratabileceği etkileri de her zaman gözetmeniz
ve “toplumsal” en iyiyi hedeflemeniz gerekmektedir. Mesleğimizin çok geniş olan kapsamı
gereği deneyimli çalışanlardan öğreneceğiniz şeyler olacaktır. Kimseyi küçümsemeden ve
gurur yapmadan onların da fikirlerini alın. Alçakgönüllülük bir erdemdir ve insan ilişkileri
yaşamınızın her alanında belirleyici unsurlardan biri olacaktır. Bazen göndermek üzere
olduğunuz bir e-postayı göndermekten vazgeçip yerinizden kalkın ve o kişinin kapısını çalın.
Onlarla konuşun, onları tanıyın, onlar da sizi tanısınlar. Teknolojiyi takip edin ancak hep
sanal kalmayın, gerektiği zamanlarda orda olun. Sizler şu anda belki de yaşamınızın hiçbir
döneminde olamayacağınız kadar özgürsünüz, kalıplara henüz sığdırılamamış, girişimlere
denemelere açık ve risk alabilecek cesarettesiniz. Hatta kariyerinizin henüz başlangıcında
olduğunuzdan, işyerinizde yapabileceğiniz hatalara hoşgörü ile yaklaşılacaktır. Bu fırsatlar
ve hoşgörü yaşantınız boyunca belki de bir daha hiç olmayacak. Bunu bilerek tadını
çıkarın ve mutlaka girişimci ve yenilikçi olun, denemekten korkmayın. Çünkü ülkelerin
refah seviyesinin artması artık daha fazla üretmek ile değil daha fazla yaratmak ile ilgilidir.
İlerleyen yıllarda her biriniz farklı sektörlerin farklı alanlarında kariyer yapıyor olacaksınız,
hatta bazılarınız kendi firmalarını kuracaktır. Ancak hangi konumda olursanız olun hiç
değişmeyecek ortak özelliğiniz, Kıbrıs’ta ayni havayı soluyup, aynı sıralarda ders görüp,
ayni mekanlarda eğlenmek ve ayni diplomanın sahibi olmanızdır. Birbirinizi unutmayın
ve Mezunlar Listemize üye olarak (http://alumni.ie.emu.edu.tr) sayıları 800’ü bulan kayıtlı
mezunumuzla her tür mesleksel işbirliğinin avantajlarını sonuna kadar kullanın. Hepinize
sağlık, mutluluk ve başarılarla dolu parlak bir gelecek diliyorum.

Graduation from a university is one of the most important milestones in our
lives. The success you earned through this graduation is the result of a long-
term study. First of all, I would like to congratulate you all for your graduation
from our department. The education, academic knowledge and skills you have
received in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering are at a
level, which could carry you to the highest frontiers in your professional lives.
In the context of Lifelong learning, it should be your ultimate objective to follow
the latest developments in your profession and improve yourself continuously.
I am sure that, you would be effectively using the scientific knowledge you have
acquired throughout your education to solve the problems of your community,
country and humanity.
As members of the EMU family, I am confident that in parallel to your academic
progress, you have developed your social skills as well. The key to success in
life is not just knowledge. Besides, self-confidence and entrepreneurship is
also required. If you support the academic foundation you built in EMU, with

Değerli Arkadaşlar,
Hayatımızdaki en önemli dönüm noktalarından biri de üniversiteden mezun
olmaktır. Bu mezuniyetle elde ettiğiniz başarı uzun soluklu bir çalışmanın
sonucudur. Her şeyden önce bölümümüzden mezun olduğunuz için sizleri
gönülden kutluyorum. Elektrik Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü’nde almış
olduğunuz eğitim, mesleki bilgi ve beceriler sizleri en üst noktalara taşıyabilecek
niteliktedir.
Eğitimin yaşam boyu devam ettiği bilinciyle dünyada yaşanan gelişmeleri
takip etmeniz ve kendinizi sürekli geliştirmeniz öncelikli hedefiniz
olmalıdır. Bir mühendis olarak edindiğiniz bilimsel birikimi toplumunuzun,

Graduation is the end of one period and the beginning of another. For as long as
you show your ability to use most of the subjects that you have learned throughout
your student years in real life, you will contine to be successful, as you are now, in
staying alive and surviving the rat race. I wholeheartedly believe that because the
School of Computing and Technology’s education policies and techniques along
with the subjects taught has shaped your understanding of life happiness, you
will also be successful in work and your future life, whether it be in finding work
or establishing a business of your own due to the fortunate position that you are
presently in.
Please do not forget that it is an utmost importance that you always continue to
develop yourselves and keep yourselves up-to-date with the latest technology as
well as continue to read and work very hard as you have done in university in
order to be a leader in life and not just a follower. In today’s dynamic world, the
conditons have given birth to leaving those behind who do not always continue
to learn and better themseves. This will not be a problem for you anymore as
you have the capabilities of learning how to learn. Being followed or taken as an
example is really a very important indication that you are successful. In order
to guarantee your future it is important to positively contribute to humanity,
community or world peace, be respectful to the environment and human rights,

İBRAHİM ASLAN : 4 yıllık eğitim hayatıma renk katan beni her anlamada değiştiren ve geliştiren
üniversitemizin psikoloji bölümü harikaydın. Ayrıca öğrenci konseyinde görev aldığım dönemde hocalarımdan
rektörlükten gördüğüm destek ve her zaman öğrenci başarısı için uğraşan üniversite yönetimi hep iyi
anılacağınızdan şüpheniz olmasın. Her halinle güzel ve farklısın DAÜ.
SİMGE ÖZERLİ : Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesi bana ilk olarak hayalini kurduğum Psikoloji bölümü için attığım
sağlam biradım oldu. Nitelikli hocalardan aldığım bilgiler, paylaştığım deneyimler ,yardımlaşmalar ilerdeki
mesleğime tutulan ışıklı bir yol oldu. Bu konuda kendimi ne şekilde geliştirmem gerektiğini çok iyi öğrendim.
Tüm hocalarıma çok teşekkür ederim. Renkli kampüs yaşamı ve bol sosyal aktivitelerin olması biz öğrencilerin
okula adapte olmasına, güzel arkadaşlıklar edinmemize yardımcı oldu. Bu minik tatlı ada her zaman kalbimde
farklı bir yerde olacak. İyi ki Psikoloji, iyi ki DAÜ!
YUSUF TEKİN : İlk başlarda adaptasyon süreci elbette oldu. İlk sene yurtta kalmıştım ve bir yıl boyunca
neredeyse bütün arkadaş çevremi buradan elde ettim. Üniversiteye yeni gelen arkadaşlara en azından bir sene
yurtta kalmalarını tavsiye ediyorum. Burada kaldığım sürece hayatı tam anlamıyla öğrendim. Üniversite hayatı
insana çok şey katıyor. Hayatımdan memnun kaldığımı söyleyebilirim. Hocalar biraz bize karşı mesafeliler. Ama
olsun!Onlar da bana ders dışında her zaman yardımcı olmuşlardır. Her DAÜ’lü bir arkadaş grubuyla o CL’nin
çimlerinde en az bir kaç kere oturup sohbet etmelidir bence. Okula olan ulaşım kolaylığı da ayrı bir güzel. Bahar
Şenlikleri’nden de memnun kaldım. Benim önerim akademik başarının yanında insani ilişkilerine çok önem
versinler, hayat boyu beraber görüşebilecekleri dostluklar elde etsinler en önemlisi bu.

FEYZA ORHAN : Üniversitemizin Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümünden mezun oluyorum. Bu durum
karşısında burukluğum artık bir aile olduğumuz hocalarım ve arkadaşlarımdan tamamen ayrılacağım
içindir. En şanslı olduğum durum; Bölümümüzün, dil ve edebiyatı bize sevdiren, bu alanda bize kendimizi

blessings, i have had lots of challenges along the way but God has been faithful. I am a graduate am so happy,hard
work pays off trust God and the process and you would make it.
SAMUEL CHIGOZIE SAMUEL : I thank Necati for being a wonderful and inspirational lecturer . I am
happy to be a proud student of EMU Cyprus. this school has improved me in different aspects and i hope to
further my education here in EMU in order to acquire more knowledge.
SIMON OMOLAYOLE : Eastern Mediterranean University is among the most prestigious university in the
world, and I am extremely happy to have attended this university. Based on my experience the level of social
interaction among some foreign students and local ones and local people is inadequate. I believe that this is due
to lack of higher level of knowledge of domestic and English language from both sides. I would like to suggest to
university management to provide and create entertaining activities where they can facilitate social interaction.
Finally this university have done so much for majority but with the numerous amount of students coming yearly
more efforts should be done to overcome this obstacle.
GASTRONOMY AND CULINARY ARTS / GASTRONOMİ VE MUTFAK SANATLARI
DİLAVER ŞAHİN : Turizm fakültesinde 4 yıl eğitim gördüm eğitim kalitesi artarak gelişti. Genel olarak çok
fazla öğretim görevlisi değişti bu olumsuz bir durum. Ama eğitim kalitesi istediğim düzeydeydi. Sosyal açıdan
okul çok eksik kalıyor.
HALİL İBRAHİM KALAOĞLU : Üniversite benim için eğitim bittiği, öğretimin başladığı yerdir.
İLAYDA SENA GÜLSEVEN : Güzel fakültemin güzel insanlarıyla 4 yıl geçirmiş olmak ve en güzel
hatıralarıma bu anıları eklemek beni çok mutlu ediyor.

bu günde, üstelendiğiniz ağır sorumluluğun bilincinde olduğunuzdan hiç
kuşku duymuyorum. Hukuk Fakültesinden aldığınız diploma, yalnızca hukuk
öğreniminizi başarıyla tamamladığınızın bir belgesi olmakla kalmamalı,
taşıdığınız sorumluluğun gereği olarak kendinizi hem meslekî hem de insanî
değerler açısından geliştirebilmede de yol göstericiniz olmalıdır.
Hukuk alanında başarılı hizmetler sunabilmek, yasaların katı kalıpları içinde
sıkışıp kalmaktan kendini kurtarıp, bilimsel aklın ve analitik düşüncenin
çizdiği yolda bireysel ve toplumsal değerlerin çağdaş bir hukuk anlayışıyla
sentezine ulaşabilmiş değerli hukukçuların işidir. Yaşamınız boyunca bu yolda
ilerleyebilmek için gerekli çabayı hiç bıkmadan ve usanmadan göstereceğiniz
konusunda sizlere güvendiğimi içtenlikle ifade ediyor, hepinize sağlık,
