These championships are conducted in accordance with the rules of the International Floorball
Federation (IFF) except where these differ from AUS sports rules; in which case the latter shall
take precedence.

1. Team size
1.1 Each team shall adhere to the following minimum and maximum squad sizes:

• Minimum squad size is ten (10)
• Maximum squad size is fifteen (15)

1.2 The minimum number of players that can be fielded without incurring a forfeit is five
(5).

2. Substitutions
2.1 Each team can make unlimited substitutions during each match (preliminaries and

finals).

3. Match duration
3.1 Please refer to the AUS supplement – game times summary for more information.

4. Points score

4.1 Points for each match shall be awarded as follows;

• Winning team: 3 points

• Drawn match: 2 points per team

• Losing team: 1 point

• Forfeited team: 0 points

4.2 In the event of two or more teams having the same number of points at the conclusion
of the preliminary matches, the higher placed team will be decided by applying the
following criteria:
a. The team with the highest goal difference (goals for – goals against).
b. In the event of the goal difference being equal, the team scoring the highest
number of goals shall be placed above the other team(s).
c. In the event that this still does not separate teams, then the team with the best
result against the top team in their pool shall be placed above the other team(s).
The best result to be determined by applying the following in order until the teams
are separated:
• largest winning margin
• highest scoring draw
• lowest losing margin
d. In the event that this still does not separate teams, then a toss of a coin will decide
the higher placed team.

5. Drawn matches
5.1 If preliminary matches are drawn at full time, both teams will be awarded two (2)

points as per section 4.1

5.2 In the event that scores are drawn at the end of normal time of progression or final
matches, one extra period of ten (10) minutes duration shall be played.

5.3 During extra time, IFF “golden point” shall apply. The team to score first during extra
time shall be deemed the winner.

5.4 At the end of this period, if scores are still tied, a best of five (5) penalty shoot out will
take place.

5.5 In the event that both teams score the same number of penalties, a "sudden death"
penalty shoot out will apply.

6. Forfeits
6.1 A forfeit will be declared ten (10) minutes after the scheduled start of play where either

team is unable to commence play.

6.2 Should the commencement of a match be delayed (up to ten (10) minutes) due to no
fault of either side (as determined by the referee in consultation with the competition
manager) the game shall be played in its full duration.

6.3 Forfeiture of playing commitments in the final stage of competition (medal or ranking
matches) will result in the team being relegated to the last place in the overall
competition.

6.4 Forfeiture of playing commitments will incur the schedule fee penalty as outlined in the
AUS Guideline - forfeit of competition requirements.

6.5 Forfeit score recorded shall be five (5) goals to nil (0).

6.6 Should an opposition player who was "playing under protest" (i.e. had no accreditation
prior to the match) prove to be "ineligible" inside the time frame stipulated by the event
organisers, a forfeit will be recorded. The forfeit score or the actual completed match
score will be awarded; whichever is higher.

7. Uniform requirements
7.1 Each athlete shall wear the uniform of their university. The university shall submit a

description of its uniform to the organiser upon request.

7.2 Specific sport uniform standards - The uniform requirements for floorball are as per the
national sporting organisation standard with the following AUS uniform requirements:
• Shorts, shirts and long socks.
• Numbering on backs and front of the shirts is required. The back figures must be
at least 200m high and the front figures at least 70mm high. The jerseys may
carry any number between 1 and 99 inclusive.
• All goalkeepers must not use a stick.
• All goalkeepers must wear a face mask in accordance with IFF regulations.
• The captain must wear an armlet, tape is not allowed as an armlet.
• The stick must be an IFF approved stick and marked accordingly.

7.3 Minimum uniform requirements for AUS events must be met:
• A competitor must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to
him/herself or another competitor (including any kind of jewellery).
• Long or sharp fingernails are to be trimmed or taped.
• All participating competitors are to be correctly attired in appropriate, matching
team uniforms.
• Mouth guards are strongly recommended for all sports where there is a potential
for collision. It is compulsory to wear a mouth guard in those sports where it is
stated.

8. Team duties
8.1 Team duty requirements (if required) at AUS events are:

• One (1) person from each team competing in the current match will be required
to score.

8.2 The person fulfilling the team duty requirements can be any competent person
associated with that team or university and does not necessarily have to be a player
e.g. team manager.

8.3 The roster and role description will be provided to each sports specific team manager at
the sports specific team managers meeting (if held) if duties are required.

8.4 Teams that do not fulfil team duties will be fined as per the AUS Guideline - forfeit of
competition requirements.

9. Presentation
9.1 Presentations shall be conducted at the conclusion of the competition.
