I NTRODUC TION

Highly Immersive Programme (HIP) is a programme under the Upholding the
Malay Language and Strengthening Command of English (MBMMBI) policy in
order to strengthen the command of English to improve English proficiency
amongst the student as English is the second language in Malaysia. It is an
enrichment to the Malaysian Education Ministry’s circular regarding
enforcement of indoor and outdoor activities in enhancing the usage of English
Language. In addition, the strategy is to inculcate the positive perspective and
mindset towards English Language .

With that aspiration, Sibu Education Department has geared up a new
milestone by strengthening the HIP with the collaboration with Pustaka Negeri
Sarawak in achieving marvellous English Language performance in schools
under the Sibu Education Jurisdiction. Besides promoting the intensive usage of
English Language amongst the students, the students are also being
introduced to the benefits which Pustaka Negeri Sarawak is offering. Each of
the students is encouraged to fully utilised the facilities in Pustaka Negeri
Sarawak.

A IMS

1. Establishment of HIP Working Committee in schools who are well

experienced and knowledgeable in handling HIP to execute the English

Language Programme to enrich the proficiency among the Sibu district’s

students (Dual Language Programme).

2. Carry out coaching and mentoring session for the HIP coordinators who

are currently in Band 4 .

3. Plan out workable and strategic planning/programme to achieve

desirable indicator.

4. To continue the superb collaboration with Pustaka Negeri Sarawak ,

Sibu Branch.

GOAL

Give sufficient support to schools’ HIP coordinators in strengthening the

usage of English Language and solidify the HIP Programme to greater

height.

OBJEC TI VE

Empowering schools’ HIP coordinators to carry out the school level HIP
programme splendidly, besides encouraging more participations in English
Language competitions or exposure internationally.
