NEWSLETTER Our Annual School Trip to Singapore: Visiting the Science Centre Singapore and the Air Force Museum. During our yearly school trip, we had the opportunity to visit some of Singapore's most exciting landmarks. At the Science Centre Singapore, we were able to embrace the wonders of science, which were equally educational for both adults and children. The exhibition covered a variety of topics, such as music, human anatomy and physics. In addition, we also enjoyed a special demonstration on electricity that added extra fun to our visit. Another highlight of our trip was the Singapore Air Force Museum, which offered a hands-on experience for visitors of all ages. It was a collection of testaments to the history, legacy and values of the Republic of Singapore Air Force and we were able to immerse ourselves in the RSAF story through the exhibition. Mid Autumn Celebration The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a harvest festival celebrated in Chinese culture. It is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese calendar with a full moon at night, corresponding to mid-September to early October of the Gregorian calendar. Date: 27 Sept Time: 6:30pm-9:30pm Theme: Chinese costume / Modern casual National Day & Malaysia Day Celebrations Malaysia threw a double whammy of a party, celebrating its 66th Independence Day on 31 August 2023, followed by 60th Malaysia Day on 16 September. These dates hold a special place in every Malaysian's heart; 31 August signifies breaking free from the shackles of colonialism, and 16 September marks the momentous day when Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak, and Singapore united to form Malaysia in 1963. To crank up the nationalistic fervour, we decided to throw a bash like no other, merging both historic events into one epic celebration! “ Malaysia MADANI: Determination of Unity Fulfils Hope” Page 3 | Orbix International School Batu Pahat
