Spain that had been this year over there at North being part of your 2020 class. I just wanted to say
thanks for making my year in the US amazing. For me was a very good experience doing a school year in
America because in some point almost everybody dreams to have that chance one day. I think that I was so
lucky going to North because is the best high school in the entire country and I will be always part of this
family. I wish all the best to all of you in college and I don't know when but I have the feeling that I will
see some of you again so I look forward for that day. Thanks for everything and Go North Stars!!

Thank you Class of 2020 for all the great memories through the 13 years I
was at D303. We've all grown so much and will continue to. I loved being
apart of a community where we all like to give back, have fun and most
importantly, care about our education. I think we will all remember Senior
year pretty well as we got out of school on Friday the 13th and we were
quarantined for days. Other than the last few months of school, I hope you
all still remember the other good times at high school like when we won
Homecoming or school spirit days. Thank you guys so much for participating
or watching NatChats and I hope you thought they were beneficial. I had a
lot of fun producing them and hearing you guys say "When's the next
NatChat?" I was honored to be your Student Body President and I wish you
all the best! <3

Fellow seniors, I hope your high school experience was better
than mine... Honestly my circumstances humbled me and
taught me different lessons about life. The first two years
were spectacular. The last two definitely sucked beyond belief.
What I would like to communicate is no matter what path life
takes you on, don't stress whether it’s your first option or not.
Have faith in yourself and follow the path life has given.
Although it may look dreadful, there are lessons and
opportunities that will rise. Lessons and opportunities you
may not have had the chance to experience. Don’t give a crap
about what others think, the people who know you, will not
follow the bandwagon of hate and twisted opinions. To the few
I still want to talk to, you have proven “out of sight, out of
mind” only applies if you allow it to. Most of you will rarely talk
to each other after this year comes to a close. It’s up to all of
you, to stay connected with the people who have been in your
life the past 4 years, 7 years, or even 12 years. Stay good
stars. PK out.

Well, these past few months have been interesting to say the least. It's a
crazy time. The Class of 2020 is amazing through academics, athletics,
and our contributions to the community. And it’s sad to see that our
journey had to end this way; in quarantine. Without graduation, the event
that signifies our completion of K-12 education. Without emotional
goodbyes. Without multiple choice on AP Exams; the easier part. Our
journey ends without the closure we deserve. Like a TV show that you
love, only to be canceled. Our series finale wasn’t done justice. This time
will be remembered for a long time, I’m sure, but it’ll definitely remain in our
hearts as a terribly sad ending to the greatest “TV show” (analogy) of our
lives. It has been the honor of my life to be a part of Peer Leadership, Key
Club, and the Stargazer. I’ve grown so much as a person and a leader in
these four years. I am also taller. What a great senior “szn.” Listen to
“Stole the Show”. Remember to laugh. #RIPClassOf2020.

Staff Farewells to the Class of 2020
Class of 2020, if this was a normal year, your memories would be of prom and parties,
graduation and get-togethers. This, of course, isn’t a normal year--but that does not mean your
accomplishments are any less worthy. You earned this occasion and this graduation. The
well-wishes that come from car parades, greeting cards, Zooms, and social media posts--you
earned those long before this day. For years, you have worked tirelessly to attain excellence in
your classrooms, on the field or court, and in your lives. That’s not time or energy wasted. It’s,
instead, the fuel for your future that will propel you forward to change the world, and if
anything, I hope this pandemic shows us the changes needed in the world. As such, don’t think
back to this as the Year of the Pandemic. Instead, think back to this time as a time when people
across the world came together for the greater good. Recall this as a time when what united us
was more important than what divided us. Indeed, remember the lessons from today to make
our tomorrows better--and I truly believe that our tomorrows will be better, Class of 2020,
because I believe in you. Good journey to you and to us all.
Warmly,
Mr. V

I have spent the better part of the last four years reminding any of you that I have worked
with that I teach and coach purely for the money. You are nothing but a vehicle to the vast
riches that go along with teaching. Unfortunately, the corona virus has called my bluff.
While teaching you all has has not lead to big bonuses and stock options, everyday has been
a chance to see you becoming a "real person." I look forward to knowing about the paths
that you will continue to walk on your journey. I hope to hear from you and be able to have a
proper celebration of our time together.

To the class of 2020:
I am so sorry that your senior year ended with this pandemic and you missed out
on all the fun activities that most classes before yours got to participate in. That
being said, your class will go down in the history books as being the first to have
gone through this type of experience. I hope you look back fondly on your high
school years and take your knowledge and experiences with you to make our world a
better place. I am so proud of you all and remember not to let the end of this year
negatively color your thoughts of your futures. We will get back to a better place
and you will all go on and create the life you want to have.

Congrats Seniors! To my artists, thank you for bringing your
imagination and creativity to class everyday. I hope your
new skills in Photoshop and Illustrator come in handy in the
years to come. To my AP Studio Art Seniors, You challenged
me, pushed me to grow as an artist, and even taught me
new tricks, too! Thank you for your leadership in the Art
Department. I know you will go on to be successful in the
next chapter of your artistic journey. I'm proud of all that
you have accomplished, from IHSAE accolades and
scholarships, to National Scholastic Competition, to
shining at the DuKane Art Show. Keeping shining bright and
never lose your creative spirit. Set goals, work hard, and
always believe in your power to achieve them.
With Gratitude,
Mrs. Schulten
