LOCATION/TIME

• Meeting was video call. The start time was 7:31.

OPENING

• Ms. Bonnie Clinton welcomed the attendees and highlighted ACCESS and thanked everyone who participated. A
great job by everyone.

MINUTES

• Betty Manetta reviewed minutes and asked for a motion to accept. Dan made a motion to accept meeting minutes and
Kallie seconded. Motion carried.

FINANCIALS

• Mr. James Estes reviewed the financials. Mr. Estes informed the Board that the revenue for the YTD period ending
July was $484 against a budget of $311. Due to MBE renewals we still on track, we’re still tracking behind on Corporate
renewals but that is expected under the existing condition. The Expenses actuals were $461.4 against a budget of
$573.5

• No further forecast changes were recommended.

• Special events, still collecting dollars from ACCESS

• Betty made a motion to accept financials and Terri seconded. Motion carried.

CONSENT AGENDA/REPORTS

• MBEIC: Betty Manetta reviewed July 2020 report. MBEIC held an event to prepare our MBE’s to participate in the
virtual ACCESS 2020 show. Terri Quinton provided behind the scene work by the ACCESS planning committee and
what to expect over the three-day event. The MBE’s were then provided training on the use of the Virtual Tradeshow
platform. Next MBEIC event is preparing for elections.

2020COUNCIL PRESIDENT’S REPORT

• ACCESS Recap number was shared with the board. Both compiled from the platform company and then our own
analysis. Utility was the best industry forum but unfortunately the platform people did not record this session still
trying to see why. Thank you Oncor and Grace Hastings. We had good participation on the roundtables. We had
participants that would have not participated in the past. She reviewed the numbers of participants and she will
share at the full board meeting. We didn’t see the revenues as we have in the past. But I think that will change as
MBE’s are setting up meetings with C-Suite corporate partners. Terri thanked the council for a great job on the one
on one matchmakers and roundtables. MBE’s felt that this was better than being there in person. The C-Suite will
be open until August 31st. Nothing has been scheduled as of yet. There are 34 C-Suite participants and each one
is willing to do 3 meetings. Don recommended that the MBE’s should encourage other MBE’s to participate. Bonnie
wanted to know how we can track that the meetings take place. How can the MBE be ensured that they will have

their meeting and not hound the buyer. The conduit will be the supplier diversity person will be the one to ensure
that the meeting between the MBE and Buying Entity C-Suite. Margo thinks that she and Bonnie send the letter to
all the C-Suite to thank them before August 31. The Supplier Diversity person will provide e-mails address to Bonnie
and Margo to follow up and thank.
• Margo first shared her views and feedback then shared the results of the Spot bid fair 70 agencies attend, 120
agencies participated, 500 HUB and 89 other businesses. We had about 130 Construction participants. 2400
sessions on the second day of Spot Bid Fair. We are unable to see how many awards were done until after
September 1. By the end of September we’ll publish numbers at that time. Thank you Andrew for all you did for the
spot bid fair.
• MBDA is on track and will be closing Federal year in September. Lots going on with the Business Center and CARES
act team. We need to ensure we’re on track for CARES and ensuring we are meeting requirements and we are
performing as required. We have 57 people attending the business meetings, so all is going well. More activities in the
next 60 days.
• NMSDC is going virtual on the national conference. Terri posted the video on the website about the video that the
national MBEIC recorded. Terri provided an update on the purpose and three critical things we want corporate America
to do: Spend at least 15% with MBE, Increase number of business you do with new MBE’s, report your numbers.
• Andrew opened office this week and we had Adrienne in the office filming a documentary.
• Sent out an e-mail to get your input on the golf tournament. Got several inquiries from stakeholders so I sent to the
board. We determined we need full board input/feedback. Of the 8 MBE’s 4 responded. Corporate side of the 14
buying entities only 7 responded. Only one company responded that they would participate and we should go forward.
Of the remaining 5 were no’s and would not participate. We decided not to move forward with the golf outing. Many of
the board members received a notice that the Golf outing was cancelled, hence why some did not respond.

CLOSING REMARKS

• Bonnie congratulated everyone that participated in ACCESS and the Council who did an amazing job.
• A lot of lessons learned and take-aways. Parts of this may be happening in the future so great that we

experienced it and will make it better for future events.
• Don wanted to thank the council and the committee for the great job they did. The conference was

outstanding.
• Meeting adjourned at 8:31 a.m.
