Location & Time • Meeting began at 7:36 am and was held via Zoom

Opening • Bonnie welcomed team and called meeting to order.

Minutes • Monica Menzel presented minutes from prior meeting. Terri Quinton
made motion to accept, Pamela Nelson seconded. Motion carried.

Financials • YTD Revenue of $766.2K vs budget of $643.5K – Bonus has been
booked – driving most of favorable variance; subscriber levels up.
National Dues and Local renewals are exceeding budget.

• YTD Expenses are $871.8k vs budget of $880.5

• Bruce Collins made a motion to accept financials, Don McKneely
seconded. Motion carried.

2022 Consent Agenda • Consent Agenda reviewed/referred to including:

• Audit Report – Brandon Rakestraw presented audit report.
Report was clean with no indications of errors or
misstatements.
o Terri made a motion to accept the audit. Bruce Collins
seconded.

• Nominating Committee – Monica provided update on election
which is now open and will close on December 1. Pam made
a note of minor error on ballot where it indicated that there
were 3 Asian American Seat candidate when in fact there are
4. Terri will make the change.

• MBEIC –. Pam provided recap recent event. 15 attendees at
latest call.

• E Awards - Margo indicated that we will have the largest
attendance. She is looking to the board for idea on how to get
responses earlier. Bonnie suggested a drop dead date and a
note that prices will increase after the drop dead date. Some
suggested that we should reconsider a Thursday vs Friday
date for future e-awards.

• Recent Events – DISD day was a huge success with over 1000
attending. Don commented on the success of recent DISD.

• Mentoring program update will take place in board meeting

Closing Remarks Bonnie’s Closing Remarks –

• Don commented on the success of recent DISD event and
Andrew’s participation. Kudos to Toyota for receiving Buying
Entity of the year and to Laguna Media (Silvana Rosero) for
receiving supplier of the year at the national conference.

• Meeting concluded at 8:12am

V. Cliton Miller, Cemetrics provided an update on public policy and Texas Legislature Industry
Day for 2023 in Austin. Plans for scheduling and participation will be presented soon.

VI. Samantha provided a discussion about opportunities to volunteer for events and
committees with the council – highlighting the 50th anniversary committee.

Summary comments: This meeting was the most successful meeting for MBEIC participation for 2023,
which can be attributed to the invitations and reminders sent out by the council staff. During the call,
MBEs made comments that they would like to continue participation and would attend meetings in the
future when notifications are received.
