A Message From the CEO/President What an exciting time for the Dallas Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council as we enter 2023 celebrating our 50th Anniversary of impacting minority business inclusion! The Council has seen significant impact over our 50-year journey from the efforts of our Buying Entity members and certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs). We have grown from the roots of nine visionary DFW community leaders in 1973, who vowed “to actively purchase goods and services from minority-owned businesses,” to a vibrant entity touching regional, national, and global supply chains. The nearly $1 million in spend with minority-owned businesses in 1975 has blossomed into more than $7.475 billion with 1209 certified minority-owned businesses and their 33,198 employees (the majority of which are ethnic minority). MBE Immersive Educational Scholarships Northwestern University-Kellogg School of Business: Advanced Management Education Program (AMEP) – The NMSDC Kellogg Advanced Management Executive Program (AMEP) is the premier educational immersion program for certified,established, growth-oriented minority-owned business owners. The program provides the mindset, tools, and skills needed to achieve and sustain accelerated growth in the constantly changing business environment. AMEP helps minority executives to work “on” their business in an interactive environment instructed by educators and professionals with real-world experiences. Going beyond the MBA curriculum, this program examines proven best practices to address common entrepreneurial issues in the context of today’s business environment. Business owners network and learn together while developing lasting business relationships. Dartmouth College-Tuck School of Business: Minority Business Executive Program (MBEP) – The Minority Business Executive Program (MBEP) at Tuck became the first universitybased business education program designed with the particular needs and opportunities of minority businesses in mind. These participants learn training in finance, strategic planning, and marketing, all led by Tuck faculty. Blue Wave Educational Program - This diagnostic and development intensive offers thoughtfully designed technical training to identify barriers in business growth and teach how to comply with international standards and qualification requirements of major corporations to give a competitive advantage in the market. Each session will last 3 hours and cover topics ranging from culture to financials. The result of the intensive will be a strong strategic growth plan that increases ability to compete for higher level contracts.
