• Meeting was held as a Zoom call. Meeting started at 7:34 a.m.

OPENING AND VOTING AGENDA

• Monica Menzel reviewed minutes from prior month and asked for motion to accept. Betty Manetta made a motion
to accept the meeting minutes. Terri Quinton seconded. Motion carried.

FINANCIALS

• Mr. James Estes reviewed the financials. Mr. Estes informed the Board that the revenue for the period ending June
was $518K against a budget of 361.5$K. National Dues and Renewals are performing as expected. The Expense
actuals were $456.2K against a budget of $470.9K

• Forecast is expected to change – revenue forecast is expected to improve by $27.6k for New Corporate Memberships
and Expedite fees. Expenses will be higher for Office expense and Temp Services by $34K.

• ACCESS receivables are finalized at over 100k
• As for the complete financials, Clifton Miller made motion to accept as presented. Yareli Esteban seconded. The

motion carried.

CERTIFICATIONS

• Mr. Rob Simpson presented current certification statistics. 13 New Certifications, 54 Recertifications. Don McKneely
made motion to accept as presented. Heather Herndon-Wright seconded. The motion carried.

CONSENT AGENDA

• Materials provided in the board book.

PRESIDENT’S REPORTS.

• Margo reviewed dashboard and council at work
• MBDA grant is currently through June 30 if extension is not granted. Margo reviewed the MBDA Business Center

results over their grant period.

• MBDA – we were awarded another 5 year grant for $410,000 annually. A business consultant will be hired.
Coronavirus response and relief grant was also award for $727k. This will be used for hardware, software and
technical assistance for MBE’s.

• Margo bragged on Austin Commercial and their president for their consistent support of Hard Hat.
• List of new and reclaimed MBE will be circulated to board membership. Margo bragged on TI for their influence in

reclaiming TD industries.
• Conversations with leadership: recordings will be available and board member companies will be asked to

participate
• Golf Tournament scheduled for 8/23/21. Board membership is asked to sign up.
• We are moving along assuming we will be doing EAwards live, but are watching numbers closely.
• Supplier of the Year nominations are in and there are several from our council including board members Thomas

Crowther and Don McKneeley
• Margo shared that we were featured on Montel Williams Balancing Act tv program.
• It was announced that we will be participating with HEB for construction contracts for new store in Frisco. Another

event with NTTA will take place to expose MBE’s to new contract opportunities.
• New staff will be brough on for MBDA and CRR grants.
• David Sanchez, Don McKneely and Bonnie congratulated Margo on funding success.
• Bonnie asked Margo to provide update on Mentoring Experience: For those that continued, we would like to have

a graduation.

December 2020, normally received in May of
following year. NMSDC allocation method and
cashflow allow for early distribution of funds.
(3) As a result of Administrative Staff turnover
we were .required to bring in Temporary staff to
handle transition.

The Inclusive Supply Chain Working Group (ISCWG)’s (chartered in 2006 by the board) Monthly Review
and Planning Session was held on Monday, July 12, 2021 via Teams. The meeting lasted for 55 minutes,

The primary focus of the August Review and Planning Session was on confirming speakers and dates for
the three (3) currently identified Programs in Table 2 on page 2. These speakers and dates have not yet
been confirmed.

Regarding programming,

or BTTBUTM Best Practice recognition. DFWMSDC nominees are AT&T, Raytheon,

Toyota, & Vistra Corp.,
 Ying McGuire, is the new NMSDC President. Bonnie, Betty and I will meet with Ying

on September 15th.

 NMSDC National conference will be virtual.

Application

The Dallas Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council (DFW MSDC), funded by the U.S.
Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency’s Coronavirus Response
and Relief Award, is offering both hardware and software support based upon the needs of
minority-owned business enterprises.

About the Support Available

Certified DFW MSDC MBEs have the opportunity to obtain hardware, software, licenses or a
combination thereof, at no cost under this program.

• Total allowable dollars per company up to $4,000.00.
• All payments will be made directly to the hardware and/or software provider. (No

payments will be made directly to the applicant.)

Key Requirements:

1. MBE must be a certified MBE of DFW MSDC for at least 2 years, with annual revenues of
$150,000 or more.

2. MBE must complete a technical needs assessment.

3. Applicant must specify in detail their needs related to hardware, software, licenses, etc. This
includes outlining the make/model of equipment, as well as name and version of software and/or
licenses.

4. Applicant must specify if training will be needed for the user or team to utilize the equipment
and/or software. (Training will be funded separately.)

5. Applicant must specify exactly how the equipment will be utilized to support their business
growth and development. (Outline the expected value derived from receiving this Hardware &
Software Support grant.)

6. Applicant must provide WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION six months after receipt of the
hardware/software outlining how the items were used to support the growth and development of
their organization.
