E. March 23, 2022, Supply Chain Professionals Quarterly Luncheon
“Talent Acquisition, Development, and Retention” Event Prep
a. 3 guest panelists. We want to hear what’s going on in this space. How are
companies handling these changes, like The Great Resignation? The Texas
Workforce Commission has several programs that MBEs can utilize. Pam
will assist with Q&A.
b. There are still logistical things that need to be worked out. Margo will
schedule a dry run meeting on the 18th or 21st. Margo will also provide the
run of show that we still awaiting from her.
2. Event Logistics
a. ISCWG volunteers assisting with the event to arrive by 11am, including
registration, greeters. Clifton will arrive by 10:30am.
b. Margo will send Council staff assignments to Mary.
c. Margo – No buyer certificates, nor any credits will be given during this
event. What’s problematic is that we’re still getting last minute
registrations from people. The flow of the panelist presentation will be
conversation style. Encourage attendees to sign up now so we can
prepare. We really need our Buying Entities to get their supply chain
professionals out at this event. 10:30am – 11am is a real busy time
because people will be coming into the event.

March 14, 2022 Board Report
d. Clifton – As a group, we need to take ownership, since this is our event.
We have been challenged with on-time starts. On-time starts require that
we get people into the event, keeping them flowing into the meeting
space and seated so we can follow the timed agenda. We can encourage
people to take the survey on their phones, as they arrive. Brad requests
that Co-Chairs have firm audience control measures to reduce chatter
volume throughout the event.
Upcoming Events
1. Update of June Event requested of LaTisha, team lead.
2. Clifton – We need more team leads for our upcoming September and December
events. We need time to confirm. Captains are needed.

PRESIDENT’S CLOSING REMARKS
Margo can’t say strongly enough the importance of this event. This is the group we most want to
touch and have connections with. We will introduce the 1% Plus Initiative that will Increase the
amount of Buying Entity spend with Council certified MBEs. This is an ideal time to make folks
aware because we’ll have to reach out to Buying Entities to get them on board. Thanks to Mary
and her team for setting this event up. We’re excited about our speakers. It’s about increasing
attendance. Thank you for what you do on a monthly basis to ensure that we have programming
that resonates with our stakeholders.
Margo gave an overview of the event’s agenda and will send it to the Group. The ISCWG is
encouraged to send their feeder questions to Margo by Friday. Mary will send feeder questions to
Margo from her and Pam today so that they can be sent to speakers, in preparation for the event.
Clifton thanks everybody for joining the meeting. Thank you to the MBDA team. Margo, we need
to recognize and tell this team what the MBDA is doing, because a lot of us don’t know and this
Council had to compete for the opportunity to continue to operate the MBDA and their programs.
We look forward to seeing you at the event next week.
THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 10:01AM.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 11th, 2022, at 9:00 AM.
