Compare and Contrast

There are two characters that I made up. They’re brothers and their names are Pike and
Sebastian.

The differences between them are that Pike has light brown hair, dark green eyes, pale skin,
dark brown shorts that go down to his knees, a shirt the color of his hair, and a ragged grayish
brown cape. Sebastian, on the other hand, has hair the color of a blue jay, one dark blue eye,
and one black eye. He also has white chest armor, black bands on his arms, and black pants
with white, black, and blue bird wings.

Their personality, like their appearance, is also very different. Pike is happy, overly
excited, slightly narcissistic, and stupidly brave. Sebastian however, is concentrated, he rarely
shows emotion, and he’s slightly stern.

Things that they have in common are the fact that their parents are Titan and Quin, both
owned Plebinx and Gentlemanx at one point, and both felt guilty for what they did. Pike let Quin
send Gentlemanx and Plebinx away, and Sebastian hit Pike over the head with a glass bottle. I
plan to one day write some books and publish them to make these real characters.

This is what Pike and Sebastian look like.

Problem and solution

Downcast left Squirrel with Shrewd, who was bundling herbs together for
the journey. He walked into Prudent's den. She was sitting there. She
looked up at him, and her green gaze pierced his face.

"So what are we doing with Squirrel?" He asked her. Prudent sighed.
"We're going to have to leave her here." Prudent's words hung in the air
like smoke.
"We can't leave her! Do you want her to end up like Leery?!" He growled,
trying to hold back tears.
"Well if we take her she's going to die!" She snapped. Her gaze
softened. "You know that this is the right thing." She told him. Downcast
looked down at his paws.
"When I saw that dying wolf, and the pup's limp bodies, I knew that when
she told me to take Squirrel, I promised that I would never let her get
separated from me." He told her. Prudent shook her head softly.
"Some promises you just gotta break." A new voice said. Downcast
turned around and Sakenwod was there. Sakenwod walked over to
Downcast and rested her tail over his shoulders. There was a long silence.
Sakenwod stood up. "Maybe give her to Bug? He has been pretty
depressed ever since Acidic died. We can’t leave her alone, and we can't
take her on the journey, so give her to Bug!" She said with excitement.
Prudent smiled and nodded. *I’ve never seen her trust a wolf from a
different pack.* H e thought. Downcast nodded, but he didn’t like the idea.
He stood up and walked to Shrewd's den and picked up Squirrel. Shrewd
looked up at him with questioning and sad eyes. He nodded and took her to
the middle of the clearing. He let out a howl and called everybody to the
clearing. They all came.
"Come say goodbye." He told them. All of the wolves touched noses with
her and said goodbye. Pandiea came last.
"I can see Breathless's fighting spirit, and Sinful's anxious, but fierce
personality." She said with her eyes shining with tears. She crouched

down. Squirrel crawled into Pandiea's lap, and she picked up the tiny scrap
and hugged her. "You're gonna do good kid." She told her before walking
away. Squirrel looked up at Downcast.

"Cast-Cast? Why is everybody saying bye?" She asked. Downcast
picked her up in his jaws, and through a mouthful of fur, he said,

"I'll tell you on the way there." They walked through the forest, and when
they were far enough, he told her.

"We live near the cliffs, and we've been feeling shakes in the ground. If
the shakes get close to us, we'll get really hurt. We can't afford to have you
get hurt, and if we take you with us and another shake happens, you'll get
hurt, and you won't be able to get healed." Squirrel closed her eyes, then
opened them and nodded. She looked forward and saw Bug. She squirmed
around trying to get away. But Downcast calmed her. When Bug walked
closer, he put Squirrel down.

"What are you doing Downcast?! Why are you here?! Can't you see that
you and your pack ruined enough?!" Bug snarled with eyes clouded with
grief. Downcast pulled Squirrel closer.

"You don't have to worry about us anymore. We're leaving the cliffs. It's
too dangerous. And... I want you and your pack to take care of her." He told
him calmly, but sadly. He showed her Squirrel. Bug's eyes brightened.
Squirrel looked up.

"Cast-Cast? I... I don't want to leave you. I wanna stay with you and
everybody else." She told him. Downcast wanted to pick her up and take
her with them, but he couldn't. He crouched down so that they were at the
same eye level.

"I don't want this as much as you, but you have to stay strong for me, for
Pandiea, and even Vitality." He told her. Squirrel nodded. Downcast looked
at Bug. "Take care of her Bug. She's my daughter, but treat her like your
own." He told Bug.

"Thank you Downcast. I.. W e will never forget this. Safe journies." Bug
touched his nose to Downcast's shoulder. Downcast did the same to him
and Squirrel.

"Bye Cast-Cast. Don't get hurt please." Squirrel told him.

"Don't worry. I won't... Good... Goodbye Squirrel" His voice broke with
the coming tears. Downcast turned around, and started walking. He looked
back and saw Squirrel walking towards him.
"W-Wait. Cast-Cast! Come back! I wanna stay with you! Come back!!" She
called. Downcast shut his eyes and bolted away with tears streaming down
his face. When he reached camp, he slowed down and curled up in his
nest. He heard paw steps. He smelled Shrewd’s scent and felt her fur
against his.

"Don't worry Cast. I miss her too." She told him. * Shut up!!*
"Don't call me that!" He snapped. She sighed and left. A few moments
later, more paw steps sounded. "Go away!" He growled.
"You need to get up and pull yourself together. You gave her away, now
get over it. It's either this or watch her die." Prudent snapped. Downcast got
up and turned on her with his mane raising.
"Because of you, I had to give her away. So don't tell me to get over it
when this was your fault!!" He snarled. Prudent reached out her paw and
gave his throat a scratch. Shallow enough to draw blood, but not enough to
kill him.
"Well if you're going whine over it, you might as well stay here because I
don't want to hear it. Me and Sakenwod suggested giving her to Bug. It was
your fault to listen, so don't blame anyone but yourself." She growled. She
turned around and walked away. Downcast laid back down.
*Maybe they're right. Maybe I did save her. Take care of yourself
Squirrel.*

2 years later…

Downcast blinked his eyes open. All the pain he had previously felt
was now gone. He looked down and saw stars at his paws. He looked up
and saw his entire pack and all his other friends. C0rrupt3d, Manx, Leemit,
Riversong, Potter Vox, and Autumn. He felt a small tug on his tail. He
turned around and saw a tan and gray wolf with green eyes. It took him a
moment to figure out who he was looking at, but when he did, he wanted to
cry. Half with joy, and half with guilt. * It can’t be..*

“Squirrel?” He asked. The wolf smiled.
“Missed ya Cast-Cast.”

C ause and effect
A warm and cold breeze blew over the land for a few moments, but then it
faded. When she got back to her little clearing, she saw Summer. His eyes
glowing in surprise when he saw Spring´s body. She put the body and
explained her death. He had his eyes closed, and when she finished
explaining, he said nothing and only nodded. She told him about the
journey, and he nodded.

¨We´ll leave at sunrise.¨ He told her. He beckoned her to the clearing,
and they went to go to sleep. But this time was different. Autumn fell asleep
for a few minutes, and when she woke up, she was curled up next to
Summer. His long, bushy tail was covering her back. Her ears grew hot.
She wanted to move, but at the same time, she felt really safe with him
next to her. She closed her eyes, and fell back asleep while listening to his
quiet snores.

She felt him nudging her shoulder with his muzzle. She stared into his
eyes. They were filled with love. *Not something you would expect in the
end of the world.* She blinked. Her ears were hot again. He nodded, and
they both stood up. He walked out of the den into the clearing and she
followed. He looked back with a sad gaze, but the love was still there.

¨Are you ready? Or do you want to go hunting?¨ He asked. Autumn was
too dazed to say anything, so she shook her head. Summer turned around

and walked over to Spring´s body, which was still there. Autumn followed,
any they dug their noses into her fur. Autumn was trying to find the sweet
scent that followed her, but there was nothing but death. She sighed, and
pressed her muzzle into Summer´s huge shoulders. He looked at her and
did the same. They stood up and walked out of the clearing. *I need the
truth.*

¨How long have you felt like this?¨ She asked. He looked shocked.
¨What are you talking about?¨ He asked with nervous sparks in his
eyes.
¨You know what.¨ She challenge with a crooked smile.
¨Oh. I was wondering how long it would take you to find out.¨ He joked.
¨Not very long. You´re not good at hiding it.¨ She told him. Half joking,
half serious. He only blinked. The rest of the journey was silent. When the
sun was above their heads, Autumn finally spoke. They found an area with
beautiful green grass, trees everywhere, and a clear river with a waterfall at
the beginning and end. There was a cave next to the waterfall.
¨There!¨ She barked. Summer smiled, nodded, and yawned. They both
walked over to the river, dipped their heads, and took a drink. The icy water
made Autumn´s nose tingle. She quickly lifted her head and shook it.
Summer looked up and laughed. *I think this can be our new territory!!*

¨Autumn can you please get me some water?¨ He asked. Summer
found a rabbit hiding in the greenest part of grass. After eating it, he had
started to feel sick. Autumn had to do everything for him, but she didn´t
mind. She walked out of the little cave they were in and Autumn soaked a
ball of moss into the water.¨Au-Autumn!! Autumn help!!¨ He called. She
jerked her head up and ran over to the cave. He was there on the ground.
His limbs twitching, his eyes rolled back, and foam at his mouth. Autumn
didn´t know what to do. She panicked and ran over to him. He was still
twitching and he hit his head hard on a boulder. He closed his eyes, but he
was still twitching. Autumn was panting with anxiety. He eventually

stopped. Autumn waited, and at dusk, he opened his eyes. ¨Autumn?¨ He
rasped.

¨It´s ok. It´s ok Summer. I´m here now. I´m right here.¨ She managed to
say.

¨I don´t feel good Autumn.. I don´t think I´ll see dawn..¨ He whispered.

Sequence

¨This is probably the hottest greenleaf in the history of warriors..¨ Stubtail
murmured to Riverstar. She nodded her head in reply as they were staring
down the rocky mountains they called home. She was proud of Stubtail. He
was the apprentice medic. He was found on the edge of Shadowclan
territory by Liontooth before he returned to Goraclan. He was found with
Mountainear and Deadtail. Deadtail decided to stay in Shadowclan, but
Stubtail and Mountainear came. Riverstar stretched her legs, said her
goodbye and walked to her den. She curled up in the coldest corner and
fell asleep.

Riverstar woke to a forest with wilted plants, bloody water, and no sun.
Her heart skipped a beat when she realized she was back in the Dark
Forest. A bitter but familiar smell filled her nostrils and filled her with fury.
She spun around, fur bristling, teeth bared, ears flattened, and tail whipping
back and forth. ¨Goldenrage!¨ She snarled to a huge golden tom with
amber eyes and a brown mane. He smiled, revealing bloodstained teeth.

¨Riverstar. I´m not here to harm you, but to warn you. A blazing ball of
fire has come to warm you, but now to end your memories.¨ Riverstar´s
rage only grew stronger. It took everything for her not to fling herself at the
dark hearted cat. ¨Why should I trust you?! You made me get exiled from
camp, made me kill my daughter, and ruined me!!¨ She spat with venom.

¨The worst mistake I ever made was knowing who you are.¨ She whispered
cruely. Rage filled his amber gaze.

¨No. The worst mistake you made was ignoring my warning. Have at
you!¨ He swiped a huge paw with long claws a whisker length away from
her face.

Everything was dark. She couldn´t open her eyes, but she could feel and
smell. She felt as if she was knocked back into a fire by Goldenrage and
was now burning. She smelled trees burning. After what felt like half a year,
she could open her eyes. Goldenrage was right. Ignoring his warning was a
mistake. She was surrounded by flames and cats screeching. He heard
Sunstar´s and Liontooth´s screeches the loudest. *No!* She silently cursed
to Starclan. *I won´t let you take them!!* She flung herself out of the den
and looked for an exit. She found one. A pile of rocks cooling the burning
branches below.

¨GO! THERE´S AN EXIT OVER THERE!!¨ Sunstar stared at her with an
expression she couldn´t describe. It was as if he were saying, *Come with
us! We can´t leave without you!*

¨GO! NOW!! I NEED TO HELP THEM ESCAPE!!¨ Sunstar nodded sadly,
brushed past Liontooth, and they ran towards river. She blinked, and it was
only Liontooth. *But he died a moon ago...* She smelled the air, and
through the flames, she could smell one cat only. Dust-tail. *We grew up
together. We will die together if we have to.* She raced to where the small
cat was trapped. ¨DUST-TA-¨ Her warning was cut off by a creaking sound.
She looked up and saw a tree falling. Dust-tail was directly in it´s path.

¨DUST-TAIL!!!!!¨ She threw herself foward and tried to push him out of
the way, but she was too late. She watched in horror for a few seconds as
blood trickled down from his mouth and dripped onto the floor. She ran
towards him. ¨D-Dust-tail?¨ She cried. After a few seconds, he answered.

¨I-Is the clan safe?¨ Riverstar nodded with tears streaming down her
face. Dust-tail chuckled, smiled, closed his eyes, and it looked like he
stopped breathing. She let out a high pitched screech of sadness and

shock. Whitesquirrel heard her and burst into camp. Whitesquirrel´s
normally happy gaze was now transformed into a green tunnel of sadness.

¨Riverstar!¨
¨I´m ok!! Take his body to Sunstar and go!! I might not make it
Whitesquirrel, but thank you!¨ She carefully pulled Dust-tail out from under
the flaming tree, and threw him to Whitesquirrel. She caught him and ran
off. She ran to the exit to join everyone by the river, but saw a huge golden
tom fade in to her vision. He slammed his huge paws in front of her and
knocked her back against the wall of camp. It was Goldenrage .
¨I never wanted things to end like this, but not everything goes you way.¨
He growled. He faded away. Riverstar was trapped in camp. A fire covered
the exit. She tried to run and jump over the fire, but she couldn´t move. She
collapsed onto the ground fighting for breath. *I...I have to go with them.
They need me!* A voice whispered in her head. She then realized that
everyone was out of camp except for her. *Let it go. They´re all safe now.*
She took one last painful breath, closed her eyes, and let the fire consume
her.
