Revised Otherworldly Patron_ Undying _ GM Binder

Warlock: Pact of the Undying Death holds no sway over your patron, who has unlocked the secrets of everlasting life, although such a prize – like all power – comes at a price. Once mortal, the Undying has seen mortal lifetimes pass like the seasons, like the flicker of endless days and nights. It has the secrets of the ages to share, secrets of life and death. Beings of this sort include Vecna, Lord of the Hand and the Eye; the dread Iuz; the lichqueen Vol; the Undying Court of Aerenal; Vlaakith, lich-queen of the githyanki; and the deathless wizard Fistandantalus Expanded Spell List The Undying lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. Spell Level Spells 1st false life, ray of sickness 2nd blindness/deafness, silence 3rd aura of vitality, speak with dead 4th aura of life, death ward 5th contagion, raise dead Among the Dead Starting at 1st level, your pact with your patron suffuses your body with the power of undeath. Your hit point maximum can't be reduced and you gain resistance to necrotic and poison damage. Additionally, when you take damage, you can use your reaction to take half that damage instead. You can use this feature once per short or long rest. Defy Death Beginning at 6th level, your patron's magic allows you to cheat death easily. You are immune to instant death as well as effects that instantly kill you without dealing damage such as the Power Word: Kill spell. While you have 0 hit points, you do not suffer death saving throw failure if you take damage. If the damage you take is from a critical hit, you only suffer one death saving throw failure. Additionally, when you succeed three death saving throws or are stabilized by the Spare the Dying cantrip, you regain a number of hit points equal to your Charisma modifier. If you roll a 20 on your death saving throw, you instead regain a number of hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + your warlock level. Undying Nature Starting at 10th level, the power of your patron grants you supernatural fortitude. If damage reduces you to 0 hit points but doesn't kill you outright, you can make a Constitution saving throw to keep on fighting. The DC equals 12 or half the damage you take, whichever number is higher. On a success, you drop to 1 hit point instead. Indestructible Life When you reach 14th level, you partake of some of the true secrets of the Undying. You no longer age and you are immune to being magically aged. Additionally, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose to not become unconscious, allowing you to still perform actions. You must still make death saving throws at the start of each of your turns. While you have 0 hit points in this state, you have disadvantage on all ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws. You can not make Medicine checks, use a healer's kit, cast the Spare the Dying cantrip or otherwise use any feature that would stabilize creatures on yourself, but you can use healing items, spells, or effects on yourself. You can use this feature once per 1d4 long rests. This is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. Not approved/endorsed by Wizards.
