Class Features As a beast summoner you get the following class features. Hit Points Hit Dice: 1d8 per beast summoner level. Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + your Constitution modifier. Hit Points at Higher Level: 1d8 (or 5) + your Constitution modifier per beast summoner level after 1st. Proficiencies Armor: Light Armour, Medium Armour, Shields. Weapons: Simple Weapons, Martial Weapons. Tools: Woodcarver’s Tools. Saving Throws: Strength, Wisdom. Skills: Choose two from Animal Handling, Athletics, Acrobatics, Insight, Medicine, Nature, Perception, Stealth, and Survival. Equipment You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background: ❖ (a) Studded Leather Armor, (b) Chain Shirt. ❖ (a) two martial melee weapons or (b) a martial melee weapon and a shield. ❖ (a) a dungeoneer's pack or (b) an explorer's pack. ❖ A dagger and a shortbow with 20 pieces of ammunition. 2
Summoning Beginning at 1st level, you have learned the way of summoning beasts. You can summon a beast over a long rest, if you already have maximum beasts for your level the summoning will fail. When you first summon a beast you choose from different stat blocks to fit your desired companion, these stat blocks can be modified further with attributes to create more versatility. Depending on the beast you summon it can have a varied amount of attribute points, you choose the attributes as you summon the beast. Your beast can either give you and your party buffs or help you in combat. You can choose to switch out your attack action to instead attack with your summoned beasts, all your companions who can attack will then attack. If a summoned beast were to die you can resummon it or summon a new companion over a long rest, if you resummon a beast it keeps all of its memories and experience. You can summon your first beast at level 1, then one more at 7th level, 13th level and at level 17. The beast summons and attributes you can choose from is listed below. DND - Beast Summoner Summons and attributes Beast Companion At 1st level, you have a bias against certain creatures and have therefore specialized in summoning them, you choose your beast companion. Attribute Change At 2nd level, whenever you reach a new level in this class you can add and change the attributes to your summoned beasts, you can change attributes over a long rest or whenever you resummon a beast. at 10th level you gain access to more powerful attributes to give to your companions. Fighting Style At 2nd level, you adopt a particular style of fighting as your specialty. Choose one of the following options. You can't take the same Fighting Style option more than once, even if you get to choose again. ❖ Archery. You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls you make with ranged weapons. ❖ Thrown Weapon Fighting. You can draw a weapon that has the thrown property as part of the attack you make with the weapon. ➢ In addition, when you hit with a ranged attack using a thrown weapon, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll. ❖ Dueling. When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon. ❖ Great Weapon Fighting. When you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die for an attack you make with a melee weapon that you are wielding with two hands, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the new roll is a 1 or a 2. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit. ❖ Two-Weapon Fighting. When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack. 4
Beast Bonding Starting at 3rd level, you are able to form a special bond with the beast you summon granting them a special connection to you. You can share multiple bonds with your beast but none can benefit from multiple. The bonds you can choose from are listed below. DND - Beast Tamer Bonds Ability Score Improvement When you reach 4th level, and again at 6th, 8th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature. Extra Attack Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Expertise At 6th level, you have continued to develop your understanding of summons and beasts, giving you expertise in two proficiencies you have. 5
Deep Connection At 10th level, your connection to your beast companion has deepend greatly and so has the trust between you. Your beast companion can act on its own without you needing to spend a bonus action to command it, you can instead use your bonus action to command one of your other summons to attack. Beast Recall At 11th level, you can summon your companions from anywhere, no matter how far away or in what plane they are in. If one of your companions is within 30 feet of you, you can switch places with the beast as a bonus action, the beast can also choose to do this if you command it too. You can do this twice a day before you and your companion need a long rest. Greater Summoning At 14th level, you can summon a greater version of your previous summons, you can also resummon a previous companion to a greater summon keeping all of its previous attributes and bonds, but with a stronger stat sheet. Beastmaster At 20th level, you have become one of the greatest beast summoners to ever exist. You gain the ability score of one of your beast companion scores, this ability score can go over 20. 6
