Grey Elf Originally born as the result of dark elf raids on the surface world, these offspring of dark and high elves have grown in number over the centuries. While some grey elves feel anger or shame at the dark source of their birth, others embrace their differences from normal elves. Over the many hundreds of years and for many reasons, grey elves have often left high elven society and have settled together in a place they call the Valley of Twilight. Here, the grey elves have been creating their own subculture, welcoming in grey elves from around the lands, having their own children, and starting to develop their own traditions. The skin of these elves is halfway between the inky black of their dark elf ancestors and the palest of high elven society. Their hair naturally ranges from stark white to pure black, though it is not unusual for those with lighter hair to dye it with with some sort of color. These elemental beings captured and enslaved dark elves, and took pleasure in making the sensative elves toil in the harsh sun of the desert. It wasn't long before this slavery led to the birth of elves with the blood of the efreet flowing within them. When the efreet were driven back to the Elemental Plane of Fire, their offspring, now calling themselves lava elves, left the bright desert for the comforting darkness beneath the ground. The enslavement of their ancestors at the hands of the efreet has led lava elf society to take a hostile view of any outsiders. These days, lava elves are found primarily in settlements carved from the inside of volcanoes, where there is only the dim light and constant heat of molten rock. The usually hot skin of lava elves is a dark red, and they have black hair. Their eyes look like molten gold or silver and they visibly glow with inner heat when in dim light or darkness.
