Preface The goal of this document is to expand upon the very meager mastery options existing in base DB5e, as well as rebalance transformations. Overall Transformations are stronger, more varied, and fall into a relative level of balance across them all. Ive also removed excessively heavy class bias that was previously present, You no longer have to be a Monk for SSj to be fully utilized, and Perfected Power has an analogue for Martial classes. Not all transformations were touched upon. Barrier of Light, Demonic will, Dark Evolution, Oozaru and Pure Progress have remained untouched. I feel the first four are perfectly fine as they are, and that Pure Progress shouldn’t be a transformation. If you want to use these four in your campaign, they work just fine alongside the options ahead. I do not reccomend picking and choosing some transformations from here and still using the default ones in the core book as with only a couple exceptions most of the transformations in the core book are flat out weaker and less flexible. If you only want to use some of what i have here, i reccomend having other homebrew options available as well to replace or coexist with what exists within the core book for DB5e. Many others in the Strangerworlds discord had input that made it into this document. I thank everyone there, and if any of you feel so inclinced as to want your name present in the document as a credit you need only ask. Normal Transformations What follows this page is a section on standard transformations which fall under the category of “Class Up”, “Super Class Up”, and “Ultimate Class up”. These are the normal transformations players should obtain and use over a camapign streching across levels 1-20. At a later date there will be a section on Epic Transformations for levels 20+ in an epic campaign. My default reccomendations are for class ups to be obtained between levels 1 to 4, Super Class ups obtained between 6 to 10, and Ultimate class ups from 11 to 14. The expanded mastery options give players plenty of options for training arcs when working on these transformations so even in a 1-20 campaign the lack of new forms beyond 15 will still be padded by training time depending on the flow of your game. Variant Rule: Rolling mastery Normally every seperate class up of a transformation (Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3) all have seperate masteries. Under this variant you instead treat them all as sharing the same masteries so anything gained for SSJ1 before SSj2 or SSj3 are unlocked still apply to the later forms. This variant is reccomended for games with less raw training time given for training arcs. Variant Rule: Simpler Stacking If the idea of stacking forms and masteries is too much management of forms, consider this simpler variant. Seperate Transformations into (Primary) and (Secondary). A player can have One of each active at a time, and rolls Stress tests seperately. Any form that has a stacking feature would usually be considered Secondary under this Rule, and all others are Primary. If using this variant into epic levels, Beast is an exception that does not count as either and is meant to be used with both a primary and secondary.


Mastery Options These are in addition to the base options presented in the DB5e core book. Quick Transformation You can toggle this transformation on as a bonus action or an action. Reactive Transformation Pre-requisite: Quick Transformation You can toggle this transformation on as a reaction to initiative being rolled so long as you are not surprised. Energy Efficent At the end of the transformation 1 BP is refunded. This effect hard caps at half the base cost of the transformation. Perfect Control The stress test DC is reduced by 1. Form permanence Pre-requisite: 24h duration, Natural Form, and Effective Stress Test DC of 10 or below. This Transformation never ends unless you choose for it to end. If you long Rest while in permanant transformation, Power Reserves are refreshed as if you deactivated and reactivated the transformation. Improved Stacking Pre-requistite: Power Stacking This transformation can be stacked with one transformation of any Tier. When used in this way you have disadvantage on the stress test. Perfect Stacking Pre-requisite: Improved Stacking This transformation can be stacked with one transformation of any Tier, and you no longer have disadantage on the stress test. Power Reserves Pre-requisite: Energy Efficent When you transform into this form you gain 1 Temporary BP. This BP is lost when the transformation ends. This effect caps at half the cost of the transformation. Twin Transformation When you activate this transformation you can also activate another transformation with this mastery so long as they both have the same activation time (Action, BA, or Reaction). Old Options These options are from the Source Book, and are unchanged. They are here as a reference. Empowered Transformation: Choose one additional ability score to empower from the list. This score now becomes empowered. Extended Transformation: The duration of your transformation is extended, double its duration, to a maximum of 24 hours. Mind-Body Mastery (Savage Power Only): You’ve learned to control the effects of this transformation’s savage power. Natural Form: If you are reduced to 0 hit points, your transformation does not come to an end.


Wild Instinct Some races have a primal nature to them. When survival is a must, animal like races tap into their senses, sending them into overdrive. This transformation represents the ability to activate this at will, and is a mortal level version of the fabled Ultra Instinct. Auto Stacking Wild Instinct does not count as a transformation for the purposes of stacking multiple and can be used along side as many transformations you are as otherwise capable of. Wild Insinct Class Up (4 BP)


Battle Adaptability Humans and Tuffles are highly flexible During battle, conditions can change rapidly. Humans and tuffles have keen minds and can focus their ki to increase their ability to recognize and adapt to changing conditions. Battle Adapatability Super Class Up (15 BP)


Maximum Power Maximum power usage is not innate. Releasing one’s natural limits to draw out 100% of your power is stressful on the body, but can make or break a battle. Natural Stacking: This transformation can be used alongside one additional transformation, unless stated otherwise. Charge Up: On the turn you activate this transformation your speed is considered 0. If you already moved on your turn, you cannot transform. This can be removed by training a mastery for it. Maximum Power Class Up (4 BP)


Kaioken Enveloping your body in a sweltering, crimson haze, you magnify your power for as long as you can sustain the surge in power. Power Stacking: This transformation can be used alongside one or more transformations of an equal class, unless stated otherwise. If used as such, roll your stress test twice, taking the lower of the two results. Fixed Duration: Kaioken is immune to masteries that increase duration. Delayed Re-use: Once you use Kaioken, you must wait 2 rounds per round kaioken was active to use it again. Kaioken Class Up (1-5 BP) Super Kaioken Super Class Up (6-10 BP)


Ultra Kaioken Ultimate Class Up (12-16 BP)


Raging Soul During times of absolute stress and anger, individual warriors can call upon a primordial power to defy the base limitations of their own power levels. Once you use this transformation, you cannot transform again until you complete a long rest. Stacking Potential: A mastery can be used to grant this transformation “Power Stacking”. Raging Soul Class Up (0 BP)


Evolution Frieza Clansmen posses the power to alter their armor and aura through intense training, greatly increasing their power. Innate Transformation: So long as this transformation is used without any other you have advantage on the stress test. Super Evolution Class Up (4 BP) Ultimate Evolution Super Class Up (20 BP)


Super Namekian Namekians who obtain a higher level of consciousness and break their limits are referred to as super namekians, achieving seemingly insurmountable powers. Super Namekian Class Up (8 BP) Ascendant Namekian Super Class Up (12 BP)


Purification Through a process of purification, you release the deranged and demonic power of your progenitor. This transformation comes at a great risk of losing your heart, unchaining the next evil incarnation of the majin monstrosity. Majin Cravings: Returning to your purified roots oftenbrings with it an intense hunger. Roll on or choose an option from the Majin Cravings table to determine the nature of these strange, primeval cravings. You gain this craving the first time you transform, and it persists with you for a long time after it ends. Optionally you may have the craving change every time you transform by rolling again. Perfected Power You’ve undergone extensive training to master the flow of the arcane or ki throughout your body. By mastering your inner self, your outward power magnifies to greater heights. Power Prerequisite: Before learning the abilities of this transformation, you must learn to cast spells (or techniques) through the Spellcasting or Pact Magic features. Power Stacking: This transformation can be used alongside one transformation of an equal or lower class, unless stated otherwise. If used as such, roll your stress test twice, taking the lower of the two results. Exclusive Power: This cannot be stacked with Selfless State. Perfected Power Super Class Up (12 BP)


Selfless State The ability to fully contain one’s ki, even in the heat of battle, is a powerful martial technique that serves to empower the user. Power Prerequisite: Before learning the abilities of this transformation, you must have the Extra Attack Feature from one of your classes.. Power Stacking: This transformation can be used alongside one transformation of an equal or lower class, unless stated otherwise. If used as such, roll your stress test twice, taking the lower of the two results. Exclusive Power: This cannot be stacked with perfected power. Selfless State Super Class Up (12 BP)


Super Saiya-Jin The ability to become a super saiyan was once considered to be nothing but a legend. An ancient power used only by the strongest of saiyan warriors. You’ve broken past these seemingly unbreakable limits, ascending beyond. Pinnacle of Rage: Birthed from the compiled rage of a warrior race, the super saiyan transformation concentrates this fury into a single warrior. While transformed, you register as a creature of evil in regards to all spells and effects that would detect you alignment, such as the planar nature of a flying nimbus or the spirit bomb technique. Super Saiyan Catalyst: The super saiyan transformation is usually awakened in the heat of battle. If you have the ability to select this transformation at character creation, roll on or choose an option from the Super Saiyan Catalyst table to determine the origin of your saiyan awakening. Super Saiyan Catalyst d? Catalyst 1 Living up to the true nature of the Saiyan Race 2 I was Helpless to save a person I love 3 Being shown the results of a dark future 4 I was completely Humiliated in battle 5 I dont understand why i was the sole surivivor 6 I cannot allow my rival to surpass me 7 I will not be useless in battle anymore 8 A great evil is coming and must be stopped 9 I must conquer everything 10 I require power to achieve my goals 11 A great mentor taught me how to use this power 12 A surge of gifted or taken energy unlocked my hidden power 13 I was born this way 14 I spent years studying the power in order to unlock it 15 I made a wish on the dragon balls 16 I copied the ability by watching another saiyan 17 I dont remember how i achieved this power 18 I WANNA BE A SUPER SAIYAN, I WANNA I WANNA… 19 My back felt tingly and I powered up 20 My power was unleashed in a bad bout of Constipation. Legendary Saiya-Jin The legendary saiyan is a fabled power spoken vaguely in saiyan myth and folklore. Known as a demonic saiyan berserker whose power increases endlessly, eventually to the point that it consumes them entirely. Transformation Upgrade: This Transformation is an Upgrade Transformation, meaning it gains the abilities and shares masteries with the base transformation. Unstable Stacking: When stacked with another transformation, Legendary Super Saiyan increases the stress test of itself and all other stacked transformations by 2. Legendary Super Saiyan Class Up (6 BP) Legendary Super Saiyan 2 Super Class Up (10 BP)


Legendary Super Saiyan 3 Ultimate Class Up (18 BP)


Oozaru Stored within their tails, saiyans possess a great power only unleashed when they absorb the energy of a full moon through their eyes. The Tail: If your Tail is severed while in this form you immediately lose the transformation, reverting to your base form. Blutz Wave Dependent: This transformation cannot be activated at will, and requires a source of Blutz waves to trigger. If there is no visual source of Blutz waves, such as a full moon, the transformation ends early. Unstackable: This transformation cannot stack with any other that has features that allow stacking. Oozaru Class Up (0 BP)


Shining Oozaru The innate transformation of Oozaru has greater potential to be unleashed which can only be accessed by a Super Saiyan or Legendary Saiyan. Combination Form: This transformation is the combination of two others and activated by using one while already in the other. The duration of this form uses the lowest of the two forms used, and masteries between all associated forms are seperate. The form can be activated by Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Legendary Super Saiyan, or Legendary Super Saiyan 2 in combination with the Oozaru Transformation. Combination Class Up: If both forms used to activate this one are class ups, this form is counted as a Super Class up. If one is a Class up and the other is Super Class up, this form is counted as an Ultimate Class up. The Tail: If your Tail is severed while in this form you immediately lose the transformation, reverting to the super saiyan form you used to activate this transformation. Shining Oozaru Combination Class Up (0 BP)


Perfect Android Artifical and Engineered Creations can always optimize and expand their power. When they reach the limits of the optimization, they are considered Perfect Androids. This perfection cannot be maintained indefinitely without practice however. Perfect Android Super Class Up (16 BP)


Super Perfect Android Ultimate Class Up (16 BP)


Power Unleashed True power slumbers deep within and must be awakened to utilize to its fullest extent. Unlocked Power: This transformation is unleashed through unusual means. If you start with this transformation at character creation roll on the table below or choose from it to determined how you accessed this power. Unleashed Ability: This transformation is a special ascension that can be applied to almost any other transformation. You much choose a transformation for the ‘Unleashed!’ abiltiy when you first obtain this form. The chosen transformation determines the duration of this one. Non-Unique: You can possess multiple instances of this transformation, each one using a different transformation. Unlocked Power D6 Method 1 The effects of Potential being unleashed 2 A wish on the dragon balls 3 Intense and Singular mastery of a transformation 4 Finding your own path for empowering a transformation 5 A slumbering potential unleashed by your other transformation 6 Being afflicted by strange magic Mystic Form Ultimate Class Up (6 BP)


Epic Transformations What follows this section is epic level transformations meant for campaigns that traverse into levels of absurd power beyond level 20. These transformations boost power siginigantly and will get out of hand long term, requiring a lot of homebrew creatures to give the players challenge. Most of these are thought projects and just theorectical for fun. Balance may vary. Some are based directly on forms from the source material, others are merely extensions of what could exist within the dragonball world. Epic Transformations have a slightly different class up set to distinguish them, though it follows the same format as normal transformations. God Class up is the first teir, Super God Class up is the second, and Ultimate God Class up is the highest. Failing stress test on these teirs grant 1, 2, and 3 levels of exhaustion respectively paralelling their NonGod teir equivelents. Like wise it is reccomended that Empowerment stat bonuses are treated in the same manner, God class ups provide +1, Super God class up provides +2, and Ultimate God Class Up proves +3. I also reccomend treating mastery training times as though they were the equivelent teir on Normal transformations. These changes represent the much easier growth factor Epic transformations have compared to their Normal Counterparts. Variant: God Ki Some transformations here in the Epic Section reference god ki, a special type of ki that is self contained and undetectable to mortals. It is up to you to determine how players gain it. They could train under a god, be exposed to it repeatedly, or generate it through some special means and learn how to repeat the act. No matter how one obtains it, a creature that permanantly posseses god ki is treated as though their power is suppressed and undetectable to creatures that do not posses god ki. BP Scaling By default, DB5e has bp scaling to about 50 points, but the base rules would suggest awarding much more over the course of a longer campaign. Some transformations in this epic category cost as high as 50 BP and operate on the assumption that you will be awarding more for your players as they reach epic levels and that they utilize the Mastery options that reduce the effective cost. If you are not awarding players extra BP over time or enough that the prices feel fair you should reduce the prices to be similar to Normal Transformations as the same relative teir (Class/Super/Ult). Variant: A Realm Apart The massive divide between epic transformations and normal doesn’t innately exist off features alone. Considering giving Epic Transformations resistance or immunity to many effects provided by Normal transformations as well as the damage done by users of normal transformations to exasperate the divide and create a stronger motivation for players to pursue Epic Teir Power when faced with Godly Opponents.


Manifestation Advanced training taken to godly levels, the power to truly maifest your might. Prerequistite: You must have either Maximum Power, Perfected Power, or Selfless state to learn this transformation. Power Stacking: This transformation can be used alongside one transformation of an equal or lower class, unless stated otherwise. If used as such, roll your stress test twice, taking the lower of the two results. Manifested Power God Class Up (25 BP)


Divinity The strength of godhood is more than a title, it is real power contained within. Lesser Godhood God Class Up (28 BP) Manifested Godhood Super God Class Up (36 BP)


Temporal Divinity Godhood with a domain over time itself. This is a continuation of the Divinity tree and of Barrier of Light, gaining all the features of the previous forms. Time Power Unleashed Ultimate God Class Up (40 BP)


Primal Saiyan The might of the oozaru fused with super saiyan and condensed down into the body creates an insanely powerful and stable form for exceeding what came before it. Continued Line: Primal Saiyan counts as a continuation of the Super Saiya-Jin or Legendary Super Saiya-jin lines and gains all the features of the previous three forms. Extreme Stability: This Transformation is extremely stable and is treated as having the Form permanance mastery even if the requirements are not met. Primal Super Saiyan Super God Class Up (32 BP) Legendary Primal Super Saiyan Super God Class Up (32 BP)


Divine Saiyan Infused with the power of God-Ki, these forms are the combined power of divinity and saiyan ability. Twin lines: Super Saiyan Rosé is a seperate transformation line, and does not gain the abilities of Blue Evolved. Like wise Blue Evolved does not gain the abilities of Rosé. Super Saiyan God God Class Up (26 BP) Super Saiyan Blue Super God Class Up (32 BP)


Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Ultimate God Class Up (38 BP) Super Saiyan Rosé Ultimate God Class Up (40 BP)


Evolution (Epic) The Frieza Clan’s power of evolution extends even into the realm of the god’s power. Continued Line: Evolution (epic) is a continuation of the Evolution transformation line and gains the features of prior transformations as well as the Innate Transformations Bonus. Royal Power: The might of this evolution is so great that even if one does not possess god ki while using it they can sense god ki as if they did possess it. Improved Evolution: Ultimate Evolution (epic) takes half the time to obtain new Masteries. Ultimate Evolution (epic) God Class Up (28 BP) Black Evolution Ultimate God Class Up (40 BP)


Orange Namekian When the true power of a Namekian is unlocked, they evolve into this new form and connect to an inner power like no other. Continued Line: Orange Namekian Is a continuation of the Super Namekian line and inherits the features of the previous forms. Orange Namekian Super God Class Up (34 BP)


Ancient Purification More than simply returning to the visage and mimicing your proginitor’s power, this transformation practically recreates the full might and savagery of your proginitor Continued Line: Ancient Purification is a continuation of the Purification Transformation and inherits the features of the previous form. Enhanced Craving: The craving granted to you by Purification is enhanced to the point of near obsession. Rigged Duration: Duration masteries only increase the duration by 1 minute instead of doubling it. Ancient Purification Ultimate God Class Up (50 BP)


MAX Android Upgraded, Evolved, or simply refined. You are more than you have ever been before. Continued Line: MAX Android is a continuation of the Perfect Android Line, and inherits all the features of the previous forms as appropriate to your race type. Special Acquisition: Obtaining your MAX Android form is special, and often atypical. The table below contains possible ways to achieve this form and can be rolled on to determine the method the form was obtained by creatures or characters that start with it. Form Obtainment Roll Method 1 Fusing with an alternate version of yourself 2 A dangerous and Special upgrade applied by your creator 3 A fusion of magic and science used to empower you 4 Absorbing a source of energy that forced you to evolve 5 A wish to unleash your purest and strongest form 6 Intense training beyond your limits 7 (Bioandroid) Absorbing your designated missing pieces 8 (Bioandroid) Unlocking the power within your genetics and combining them 9 (BioAndroid) Absorbing the energy and DNA of other powerful races that weren’t used to make you. 10 (IE Android) Pushing your reactor to its Limit 11 (EA Android) Absorbing a foreign source of Ki that defies your limiters MAX Android Super God Class Up (35 BP)


Ascension Form More than simply returning to the visage and mimicing your proginitor’s power, this transformation practically recreates the full might and savagery of your proginitor Expression: Ascension Form comes in three variants. The variant should be determined before or when you achieve it based on how you obtain it. Destruction- Ascension Form becomes a Destroyer form complete with the powers of a god of destruction and their signature Aura. Creation- Modeled after angels and Supreme Kaioshin, The Ascension Form becomes a Guardian form and a shining halo appears over your head when you activate it. Demonic- Infused with energies from hell your ascension form becomes a Demon Lord Form, often sprouting horns and gaining a twisted appearance. Ascension Form Ultimate God Class Up (50 BP)


Beast The Beast is a mighty power, stemming from deep potential and an epic awakening of might. The Beast Within: Once you activate this transformation, you cannot so so again until you take a long rest. Beast does not count against the number of transformations you have stacked, and visually overrides any stacked transformations, but can only be stacked with Normal Transformations, not Epic ones. The Beast Ultimate God Class Up (30 BP)


Ultra Instinct A divine power of the angels, Ultra Instinct gives the body the ability to act autonomously, greatly improving reaction and action speed. Conditional stacking: At God Class up, UI can stack with any one other God class up or lower transformation barring other restrictions, imposing disadvantage on both stress tests. At super god class up UI can stack with any one other transformation, barring other restrictions, imposing disadvantage on both stress tests. At Ultimate God Class Up UI can stack with any one other transformation. Exlcusive technique: Ultra Instinct cannot be stacked with Ultra Ego. Ultra Instinct - Sign God Class Up (20 BP) Ultra Instinct - Omen Super God Class Up (20 BP) True Ultra Instinct Ultimate God Class Up (20 BP)


Ultra Ego A harnessed ability of Destruction gods, Ultra ego causes one to become stronger as they fight and take damage. Conditional stacking: At God Class up, UE can stack with any one other God class up or lower transformation barring other restrictions, imposing disadvantage on both stress tests. At super god class up UE can stack with any one other transformation, barring other restrictions, imposing disadvantage on both stress tests. At Ultimate God Class Up UE can stack with any one other transformation. Exlcusive technique: Ultra Ego cannot be stacked with Ultra Instinct. Ultra Ego - Stage 1 God Class Up (20 BP) Ultra Ego - Stage 2 Super God Class Up (20 BP) Ultra Ego - Stage 3 Ultimate God Class Up (20 BP)


Unchanged Transformations A simple section that contains the transformations GARSL01 included in his documents that I have left exactly as is. These are merely included so that all transformations are available within a single document. Currently Not Completed Will work on this Section later.
