Magnificent Patron_ Urf the Manatee - The Homebrewery

W elcome to Planet Urf, where magic reigns unbridled and champions unleash their power without cost or limit. A truly outlandish plane of dazzling chaos and splendiferous freedom, where one single majestic creature stands at the lofty top of it all: almighty URF, eternal manatee of glorious opulence; lord of all that is golden and shiny. By making a pact with this coruscating higher being, you’ve agreed to devote your life to the righteous mission of spreading his magnificence, being afforded an appropriate amount of his wildly rifting energy in order to properly carry out your servitude. At 1st level, the magnificent Urf lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. Magnificent Urf Expanded Spells Spell Level Spells 1st Bless, Heroism 2nd Fortune’s Favor, Pyrotechnics 3rd Haste, Aura of Vitality 4th Divination, Freedom of Movement 5th Dawn, Holy Weapon Starting right at 1st level, the exalted Urf grants this frail warlock a facsimile of his all-powerful tool of radiance: the mighty Golden Spatula. While wielding this awe-inspiring item, your semblance is uplifted to an elevated standard, giving you a +1 bonus to any Charisma ability checks that you make. The Spatula can also be used as a spellcasting focus for any spells you cast. Starting from 3rd level, whenever you cast a spell of 1st level or higher through it, you may cast one of your known cantrips as a bonus action in that turn. This can be done a number of times per long rest equal to double your proficiency bonus. If you lose the Spatula, you can perform a 1-hour ceremony to receive a replacement from your most magnanimous patron. This ceremony can be performed during a short or long rest. The Spatula disappears in a golden poof of light when you die. The Spatula may be splendent on its own, but it is only when combined with something else that its power truly shines. When you reach 3rd level, the Spatula grants you a different benefit depending on your chosen pact boon:

Pact of the Blade: The Spatula can be used as your pact weapon. It functions as a Mace when you wield it, and deals an additional 1d6 radiant damage on a hit. This damage increases to 1d8 when you reach 10th level. When performing the ritual to turn a magic weapon into your pact weapon, you can turn it into your Spatula instead. Its base properties are changed to match the Spatula’s, but any special features it has are retained. Pact of the Chain: If your familiar is within 50 feet of you, it can deliver any spell you cast through the Spatula as if it had cast the spell. Your familiar must use their reaction to deliver the spell, and if it requires an attack roll, you use your attack modifier for the roll. Pact of the Tome: At the end of a long rest, you can replace one of the cantrips from your Book of Shadows with a cantrip of your choice from the Cleric spell list. Starting from 10th level, you can do this at the end of a short or long rest. Pact of the Talisman: The Spatula can be used as your amulet. When you fail an ability check, you can now add a d6 to the roll, instead of a d4. Starting from 12th level, you may add a d8 instead of a d6. These pact boon enhancements are made to simulate the Golden Spatula's functionality in the Teamfight Tactics game. If you or your DM don't like these features, you may choose to abstain from using them; although you risk PC underpowering. At 6th level, thanks to your patron’s ingenuity, your tactics are unmatched when it comes to a team fight. You are able to grant a powerful boost to those who assist in your cause, knowing exactly which parts to strengthen based on the type of combatant they are. Once per long rest, you can use your action to grant the Awesome Buff of Awesomely Awesome Buffing to an ally of your choice within 10 feet of you. This buff grants a different benefit depending on the affected character’s class: Artificer: For the next minute, they can imbue an extra infusion of their choice into any object within their possession, even if it is a magical item. This extra infusion vanishes when the buff ends. Barbarian: For the next minute, when using the Reckless Attack feature, only melee attack rolls against them are made with advantage until their next turn. Bard: For the next minute, their Bardic Inspiration die increases by one size (d8 to d10, d10 to d12, etc). If their Bardic Inspiration die is a d12, this buff changes it to 2d6. Cleric: For the next minute, they gain an extra use of their Channel Divinity feature. The buff ends when they expend that use. Druid: For the next minute, the maximum CR of their Wild Shape feature increases to the next tier (1/2 to 1, 1 to 2, etc). If their transformation can’t be maintained when the buff ends, it is undone. Fighter: For the next minute, they gain an extra use of either their Second Wind or their Action Surge feature. The buff ends when they expend that use. Monk: For the next minute, they can use their bonus action to regain 2 ki points. The buff ends when they regain a number of ki points equal to or higher than their proficiency bonus. Paladin: For the next minute, the damage dies from their Divine Smite feature are increased to d10s. Ranger: For the next minute, they gain the benefits of an extra Fighting Style option of their choice. Rogue: For the next minute, the damage dies from their Sneak Attack feature are increased to d8s. Sorcerer: For the next minute, they gain an extra Metamagic option of their choice and one extra sorcery point, which can only be used on Metamagic. Warlock: For the next minute, they gain the benefits of an extra eldritch invocation of their choice, for which they meet the prerequisites. Wizard: For the next minute, they can cast any leveled spell as if it was one level higher, without needing to spend a higher level spell slot for it. (Example: Casting Magic Missile as a 2nd level spell by spending a 1st level spell slot.)

At 10th level, your patron’s elegance rubs off on you even further: While wielding the Spatula, you now have a +1 bonus to all Charisma saving throws you make. Whenever you use your action to cast a cantrip through the Spatula, you may cast one of your known cantrips as a bonus action in that turn. You can now grant the Awesome Buff of Awesomely Awesome Buffing twice per long rest. Credit Artwork: First, second and third pages: ©League of Legends, Riot Games. Watercolor: Jared Ondricek, u/flamableconcrete Design: u/CamunonZ At 14th level, you become able to directly channel the energy from Planet Urf through your body, briefly manifesting a glimpse of the realm’s true power. As an action, you can unleash an aura of chaotic agency around you, lasting for a number of rounds equal to your Charisma modifier. While this aura remains active, you and up to 4 allies of your choice within 40 feet of you can cast spells of 4th level or lower without expending a spell slot. If an ally inside the range of your aura cannot cast spells, they instead gain an additional action on each of their turns. When the aura ends, you and all allies who benefitted from it gain one level of exhaustion. If one of your allies was under the effects of your Awesome Buff of Awesomely Awesome Buffing while benefitting from this aura, they gain two levels of exhaustion instead. Once you’ve used this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
