Vapra, Burrow Sovereign Daughter of Destruction When Vaprak the King Eater, patron diety of ogres and trolls, imbued his thirst for death into a failed statue cast aside by Skoraeus Stonebones, the Great Creator, an unholy abomination was the result. Meant to be a scourge upon the lower planes, Vapra was crafted to devour and multiply, spreading death and carnage throughout every land she came across. However, the new father underestimated the ferocity and intelligence of his child, as she tricked him into letting her loose before her time was to come. Now she waits, birthing her ravenous army of tunnel trolls to one day consume it all. Being three times larger than her kin, they resemble each other completely, Vapra being able to create them despite having no mate. 1 This is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the original Fan Content Policy. Check them out here: https://twitter.com/Legendary Lair and Lair Actions On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Vapra takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; Submerged in Shadows. Magical darkness spreads around a creature Vapra can see, coating them in it and flowing 20 feet out from them. It spreads around corners and travels with them until the end of the creature’s next turn. If any of the darkness overlaps with an area of light created by a spell of 2nd level or lower, the spell that created the light is dispelled. Death From Above. Jagged stalactites fall from the ceiling, striking up to three creatures Vapra can see within 120 feet of it. Vapra makes one ranged attack roll (+8 to hit) against each target. On a hit, the target takes 10 (3d6) piercing damage. Tombstone. Vapra creates a rigid barrier of stone on a solid surface it can see within 120 feet of it. The wall can be up to 30 feet long, 30 feet high, and 1 foot thick. When the wall appears, each creature within its area is pushed 5 feet out of the wall’s space, appearing on whichever side of the wall it wants. Each 10-foot section of the wall has AC 5, 30 hit points, vulnerability to force damage, and immunity to fire, necrotic, poison, and psychic damage. The wall disappears when Vapra uses this lair action again or when she dies. REGIONAL EFFECTS The area containing Vapra’s lair is a place of death and gloom, creating one or more of the following effects: Vapra’s children litter the underground close to her lair, shredding all that come too close. Within 6 miles of Vapra’s lair, all caverns and mines have a 10% chance of having 1d4 tunnel trolls residing within, caving in the tunnels they used to sneak in and waiting for their prey. Caverns and mines within 6 miles of Vapra’s lair become darker and more confusing. Nonmagical light sources go out instantly, magical light sources only illuminate half their usual distance, and creatures with darkvision can only see half as far. Additionally, ability checks attempting to navigate these places must remove 1d6 from the roll. Creatures with a burrowing speed often find themselves feeling watched, harmless tremors following them and disappearing at random. 3 This is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the original Fan Content Policy.
