Devil Fruit Basics What is a Devil Fruit? Devil Fruits are mysterious, visually distinctive fruits scattered throughout the world, known for permanently granting their eaters superhuman powers and an equally permanent inability to swim. Types of Devil Fruits Logia The rarest and most powerful of the three Devil Fruit types, Logia-type Devil Fruits allow their users to create, control, and transform their body into a natural element, such as sand, mud, smoke, lightning, plant life, and even darkness. There are also Logias that can transform the user into artificial elements like paper or candy syrup, but these are considered non-canon. Paramecia The defining characteristic of Paramecia fruits is that the abilities they grant are anything other than the ability to transform into animals or change their body into natural elements like the fruits of the other two categories. Zoan The users of Zoan-type Devil Fruits gain the ability to transform into a specific animal, as well as transform into a hybrid form that combines attributes of their own species and the species the fruit allows them to transform into. Unlike other Devil Fruits, Zoan-type fruits are said to have a will of their own. A recently discovered science allows Zoan Fruits to be integrated into inanimate objects, bringing the object to life and granting it the standard Zoan transformations. Attuning to a Devil Fruit Devil Fruits are very special magical item. Biting into a Devil Fruit immedietly attunes it to you, you do not need to actually eat the fruit to gain this benefit. If you do not have an attunement slot available the Devil Fruit will attempt to unattune you to an available attuned item to use it’s attunement slot, if this is not possible or you are already attuned to a Devil Fruit then you are reduced to 0 HP with 2 death saving fails and can only be stabalized by a successful DC 20 Medicine Check. The Devil Fruit can only be unattuned through use of a Remove Curse of 6th level or higher on the person attuned to it or by their death. After a Devil Fruit is no longer attuned it will regrow somewhere unknown. After becoming attuned to someone a Devil Fruit becomes a mundane, horrible tasting fruit of no nutritional value. Devil Fruit Weakness Shunned by the Sea By bonding with a Devil Fruit you become weakened when submerged in water. Whenever you are in water below the knee you gain 1 rank of exhaustion, this becomes 2 ranks whenever you are in water below your waiste and 4 ranks when below your shoulders. If you are ever submerged completely in water you are Incapacitated. You can not die from exhaustion gained though this feature, instead you become incapacitated. Sea Prism Sickness Sea prism are a stone that carry with them the soul of the Ocean. Whenever you are in contact directly with this stone you are Incapacitated and lose all Devil Fruit effects for the duration. Additionally these can also be turned into objects like handcuffs to cause you to lose all Devil Fruit effects and gain 4 temporary rounds of exhaustion for the duration. Devil Fruit Rarities Uncommon The Uncommon rarity is usually reserved for the weakest of Paramecia Devil Fruits, capable of only minor effects such as: The ability to make objects heavier The ability to edge your limbs with a blade The ability to spin your hands like drills Rare The Rare variety of Devil Fruits begins to expand the capability and variety of abilities. Devil Fruit Awakenings Occasionally one can become so adept and attuned to their Devil Fruit that they can awaken its true power within. To awaken a devil fruit you must gain the following Feat, which can only be taken when your Ki Rank equals a certain threshold based on your Devil Fruit’s rarity. Logia Logias are defined by their unique characteristic of completely converting your body into a unique element of force of nature like fire, ice, magma, light, smoke, gas, etc. The only form of Logia that is seemingly NOT possible is liquid water. Logias can come in 3 basic states: Solid, Liquid (or Non-Newtonian Fluids), and Gas. Ice Logia Very Rare Solid Logia Solid Logia Composition (Cold) Your body is entirely comprised of living ice. Body Reconstruction Due to the physical nature of your logia element, if you sustain serious damages you can attempt to repair it by converting your body into ice and rebuilding your body. As a bonus action on your turn you may spend stamina to freeze the area around you, covering everything with a layer of ice. Paramecia Slip Paramecia Uncommon Paramecia Slippery Body Your body become smooth and slippery, causing for your body to become unnaturally smooth. You gain the following benefits: While you are not wearing shoes, you gain additional walking speed equal to X times 5; where X equals your Ki Rank. Revive Paramecia Very Rare Paramecia You gain the capability to revive from the dead anad access the cold depths of the undead to your arsenal. Whenever you eat this Devil Fruit you gain all Devil Fruit weaknesses but no benefits until you die. Once you die you gain the following benefits: Soul King If you would die, then your soul simply loses itself upon revival.
