Artificer Specialist: Rocketeer What’s that soaring through the air? A bird? A dragon? A mad scientist? Rocketeers have ideas that can’t be contained by as trivial a force as gravity. Zooming down corridors, swooping through clouds, and zipping past enemies, these crafty inventors launch themselves into and out of trouble with magical rocket packs, electro-arcano repulsors, or simple Icarian wings. Talented Rocketeers can turn their need for speed into a tool box of tricks their friends can trust, whether they are dropping down destruction, scouting the skies swiftly, or aiding an ailing ally. Fuel up, strap in, and launch yourself into a new adventure. Just make sure to stick the landing. Rocketeer Spells 3rd-level Rocketeer feature You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Rocketeer Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of artificer spells you prepare. Rocketeer Spells Artificer Level Spells 3rd guiding bolt, shield . 5th gust of wind, heat metal 9th counterspell, lightning bolt . 13th freedom of movement, ice storm 17th hold monster, telekinesis . Tool Proficiency 3rd-level Rocketeer feature You gain proficiency with navigator’s tools. If you already have this proficiency, gain proficiency with a tool kit of your choice instead. When you move, you can engage your propulsion device to gain a flying speed of 30 feet until the end of the current turn. If you are still aloft at the end of the turn with nothing else supporting you, you fall. If you lose the device, you can build a replacement using Tinker’s Tools at the end of a long rest. When you take the Dodge action, you may also either Dash or Disengage as part of the same action. Shooting Star 5th-level Rocketeer feature You’ve worked out the kinks in your propulsion device. You gain a flying speed of 30 feet while wearing your propulsion device. You may cast your artificer cantrips that have a cast time of one action as a bonus action instead. Eagle Eye 9th-level Rocketeer feature Your ability to survey the battlefield is outstanding. Your Flash of Genius feature has its range increased to 60 feet and you may use the feature to increase attack rolls as well as saving throws and ability checks. Aerial Supremacy 9th-level Rocketeer feature Your propulsion device nears perfection. Your flying speed while wearing your propulsion device is increased to 60 feet. The Big One 15th-level Rocketeer feature You are capable of engineering truly devastating weaponry. While flying, you may use this feature before rolling the damage dice for an artificer spell you have cast this turn. Replace all of the spell’s damage dice with an equal number of d20s until the end of the turn. After using this feature, you may not use it again until you have finished a long rest.
