Auric the Scale, Aspect of Bahamut his weapon is unlike any other. It’s base state is that of a longsword, being eloquently forged of a unscratchable gold. It’s hilt bears the wings of a gold dragon, and its pommel bears its talon. The hilt stretches upwards into the mouth of a dragon, almost breathing out the blade. This weapon is a manifestation of a legendary golden dragon, only being gifted to Bahamut’s chosen through proving themselves and spreading his influence. Sentience This weapon contains the essence and soul of Auric the Scale, one of Bahamut’s Seven Golden Wyrms. This weapon is of Legendary status and can only be gifted by Bahamut, as the weapon is a manifestation of Auric, and only attunes to the chosen. Auric is a lawful good golden dragon, having an intelligence of 18, a wisdom of 17, and a charisma of 28. This weapon can understand Common and Draconic, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. While attuned, Auric knows all languages the wielder knows. Latent State The weapon is started in its latent state, which does not awaken Auric’s presence. In this state, the weapon has a +1 to all attack and damage rolls made with it. After attuned, the weapon can take the shape of any weapon the user is proficient with. Can be used with versatile and finesse weapons. When the wielder uses a channel divinity, Auric’s presence floods outwards to protect them, giving a +1 to AC for the next minute. Awakened State The weapon reaches its awakened state after it is further blessed by Bahamut, after the wielder shows great promise in their conquest to spread his influence and teachings. The weapon gains a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. Root Out Evil: When this blade is within 500 ft of a Chromatic dragon, the blade glows a platinum colour. The closer you are to the creature, the brighter the glow. You gain advantage on all attack rolls made with this weapon against all varieties of chromatic dragons. During the awakened state, Auric’s presence can finally be heard and felt by the wielder. The weapon becomes sentient and can communicate with its user. Auric will usher the user towards Bahamut’s teachings and to further spread his influence, and will return to its latant state if the user performs multiple atrocities, such as murder sprees, or communing with Tiamat. Empowered State The weapon has reached its maximum potential, as Bahamut has picked the wielder as his chosen to wield Auric in battle and spread his influence across the planes. The weapons bonus increases, now being a +3 to all attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. The weapon gains 4 charges, 1d3 + 1 at dawn. Weakening Blade: As a bonus action, you can expend 2 charges to imbue the blade with Auric’s weakening breath. For the next minute, any creature you hit must make a DC 18 strength saving throw or have disadvantage on strength based attack rolls, checks, and saving throws until the start of your next turn. Flame Blade: As a bonus action, you can expend 2 charges to spark the blade and light it on fire. For the next minute, each attack done with the lit blade deals an additional 3d10 fire damage. This fire damage bypasses fire resistance, dealing full damage to creatures that are resistant and half to creatures that are immune. Aspect of Bahamut: As an action, expend all four charges to take on the shape of Auric the Shield. Two large magical golden wings erupt from your back, and golden scales enhance your armor. For the next minute, you gain a +2 to AC and gain a fly speed of 60 ft. Additionally, for the duration of the aspect you become immune to fire damage.
