Gem of Minor Imprisonment wondrous artifact Art by: Steve Prescott As an action, you can activate this artifact and choose a creature up to 5 feet away that you can see; that creature must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the creature remains free and becomes immune to this gem's effect. On a failed save, the creature shrinks to a height of 1 inch and is imprisoned inside the artifact. Light can pass through the gemstone normally, allowing the target to see out and other creatures to see in, but nothing else can pass through, even by means of teleportation or planar travel. Only one creature can be held by the gem at any time. While contained in the artifact, the creature doesn't age, nor does it need to eat, drink, or breathe. Divination spells cannot see or locate it. The Gem of Minor Imprisonment is a magical object with an AC of 10 and 30 hitpoints, and cannot be attacked from inside. The creature contained by it is set free if the Gem is destroyed or if Dispel Magic is cast on it as a 6th-level spell. Some Villains are bad, and they have to be executed. Others are so bad that death is not enough to contain them. As Arch-Mages are not always available to help with those cases, an artifact was devised to deal with that.
