How strong is an acrylic
barrier?

The 125″ thickness of acrylic is 2 to 3 times more impact
resistant than double strength window glass, 4 to 5
times more impact resistant than wire glass or other
glasses. A 250″ thickness of acrylic is 9 to 10 times more
impact resistant than wire or other glasses.

What is nsf sneeze
guard:

The top shelf allows the overall height of the nsf
sneeze guard to be reduced, which facilitate the
verbal exchange between the server and the
customer. In figure 2 the top shelf has been
eliminated and the shield is tilted back further.

This configuration still meets the NSF (5.36.2.3) criteria as
long as sum of the X and Y components is greater or equal
to 24 inches. This sneeze guard style is sometimes referred
to as a Chipotle style because they use it in their restaurant
chain. Self Service sneeze guards, also called Buffet sneeze
guards, shield the displayed food while still allowing the
customer access.
