The Gingerbread Man

One day, an old woman made a gingerbread man.She used some
currants for his eyes and some coloured sugar for his coat.She put
the gingerbread man into the oven to bake.When it was ready, she
heard a little voice crying,’’Let me out! Let me out! ‘’

When she opened the oven door, out jumped the gingerbread man !
He ran right out of the house.The old woman ran after him.He
called back,’’Run,run,as fast as you can ! You can’t catch me, I’m
the gingerbread man ! ‘’

He met a cow who said, ‘’You will taste better than my
grass ! ‘’He ran away from the cow.He ran very
quickly.He laughed at the cow for running really slow.

Not long after, he met a horse.The horse said, ‘’You look
very good to eat ! ‘’But even the horse could not stop
him.He chased the gingerbread man for miles.

The little gingerbread man proudly said, ‘’No one can catch me ! I’m
the fastest of all of you ! ’’ He met a fox who said, ‘’Stop,stop,little
man ! I want to talk to you ! ‘’But the gingerbread man ignored him.

The gingerbread man kept running till he came to the river.He could
not cross it.The fox said, ‘’Jump on my nose and I will take you
across the river.’’The gingerbread man happily did just that.

When they reached the other side, the fox tossed him
into his own mouth and gobbled him up ! That was the end
of the gingerbread man.
