National IMA leadership was very concerned on the issue of proposal of NMC to change the Medical Oath. Constant
consultations, discussions and careful examination of all the aspects were being studied diligently so as to come out
with a studied and considerate response.
Urgent meeting of all past National Presidents, HSGs’ & advisors was held last night to discuss the issue of proposed
Medical Oath by NMC under the leadership of National President Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh.
After prolonged deliberations Following decisions were suggested:-
1. IMA strongly opposes the said NMC proposal and will take all possible effective steps to block this proposal.
2. The detailed and studied document prepared by Dr. Vedprakash Mishra sir under guidance of Chief Patron
Dr. Ketan Desai sir will be circulated widely to all and in media.
3. IMA will request all it’s leaders in NMC to oppose it tooth and nail.
4. IMA will write to all NMC members, State & local branches, VCs of all Health Universities, State Medical Councils,
Medical Colleges, PG & Students unions to write their opposition to NMC and Health Minister.
5. IMA delegation under leadership of National President will meet the Health Minister as soon as possible.
6. Further line of action will be discussed and decided in the upcoming meeting of National Office Bearers and
State President & Secretaries on 19th February.
We shall also circulate the detailed concept note prepared by Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra sir, in due course.

World Kidney Day (WKD) is a global
campaign initiated in 2006 aimed at creating
awareness about role of kidneysin our overall
health and reduce the frequency and impact of
