It is said that our younger years are our most
joyful ones, for as we grow straight and tall and
(iutldfi
develop into young men and women, we acquire
those memories which we shall cherish forever.
Desiring to permanently record those memories
for you, the Non Excide Staff presents its 1962
Yearbook. Our theme, "Medieval Times," is sym
bolic of those younger years of which your mem
ory is slightly dark and vague. Now, as your fu
ture becomes clear and certain, you enter a
period of Renaissance, and all the world becomes
happy and gay. We merely wish that this publi
cation hopes to perpetuate all such joy.

■^- ■■'■ V. ^.yC:
Dedicate . . .

As we, the first graduating class to complete
three full years of education at Wilson, prepare
to leave our beloved alma mater and enter a
world of uncertainty, those precious memories
of our undergraduate years once again flash
before our eyes.
Our years at Woodrow Wilson High School have
been by far our happiest, and through the guid
ance of many individuals, we have tried hard to
make the best of the countless educational and so
cial opportunities so kindly offered us.
Seeking to somehow express our thanks and
appreciation, we, the Class of 1962, hereby dedi
cate our yearbook to a man who, in our opinion,
has done his best to aid our development as
young men and women. His knowledge and de
votion have been vital to our education and spirit,
and in recognition of such unselfish attributes,
we give our thanks to MR. IRA BUD GROSSMAN.

To The Class of 1962
Dear Seniors:

Have you ever gone fishing for trout? From
nature you can learn much. Since your high school
education is ending, I wonder which trout stream
you will follow.
In the mountains of our beautiful state I have
fished in a small stream. As I follow the stream
it divides. The one stream becomes two. At this
point the current in both is swift and the waters
are clear. But, the stream runs into a swamp—a
body of stagnant and poisonous water which has
lost its ability to maintain most fish and plant life.
The other stream finds its way into a valley where
it is used for irrigation—giving of itself for the
life of plants and animals.
These two streams can be compared to the
choice you have of life. Your years af Wilson have
been wasted if you choose to become stagnant.
Wilson will continue to become a great school if
you give of yourself for the betterment of man.
Your proud school depends upon your future
success to continue its preparation of young men
and women to choose the right stream.
Congratulations upon your graduation and best
wishes for continued success in life. The world
ROBERT P. MARTIN, Superintendent
needs the giving of yourself to have less swamps
and more green valleys.
Sincerely yours,

Robert P. Martin
Delhaas Joint School Board District Superintendent

Administration

Dear Seniors,
For each of you, the forthcoming commencement will indeed remain an ever
lasting event throughout life. For me, it symbolizes the culmination of a personal
friendship cultivated during six formative and maturing years of a vibrant and
zestful period of life.
Indeed, to everyone, this memorable occasion represents the completion of an
initial phase of life's plan and, truly, the realistic beginning of the individual's
quest of the future's challenge.
Proudly, we may reflect upon your numerous achievements represented by
scholastic excellence, zealous endeavors and enthusiastic fervor. Woodrow Wilson
High may point with justifiable pride to the memorable contributions and unselfish
devotion exemplified by you, the class of 1962.
To each, may life bestow a future abounding in honor, dignity, and happiness.

Sincerely,
Frank J. Furgele
Principal

Congratulations to the class of 1962.

As a class, you will have the distinction of
being the first graduating class which spent its
entire three years at Woodrow Wilson High

ucts of your high school education. Moreover, you
have had the unique advantage of experiencing
the successful evaluation of your high school.
You can be proud indeed as, in the years to conne,
you refer to yourselves as graduates of Wilson.
We, in turn, look forward to the many times
when we can point to you with pride, whether
it be one hour, one day, or many years from
now, and claim you as graduates of our Woodrow
Wilson High School.

Senior Class Officers

Dear Classmates,
As we approach the finale of our high school
career, I find that certain events and certain
people stand out in my mind. I realize that the
three years I have just completed mean more to
me than anything else in my life up to the
present time.
We will long remember with great pride the
many activities and trips we shared. Highlights
of these were our first day of school, and the an
ticipation that went with it; our first dance; our
sophomore class trip to the United Nations; and
finally in our senior year, the Washington Trip.
In addition. Homecoming, Calorie Capers and
Ramnastics all helped to make our school life en
joyable and rewarding. But it took more than just
activities to make this class what it is-, the best of
Wilson. It took spirit—you have it; it took a well-
rounded faculty—Wilson had it; and it took a
strong leader like Mr. Furgele. I am sure we will
all look back many times with great pride on our
school days, friends, teachers and administrators.
r hope you have enjoyed your stay at Wilson
as much as I have enjoyed mine, and I hope that
whatever path you take in life will lead you to
health, happiness and success.
Sincerely,
Dolly Bryan
President.
