A flourish of color and military flair add
to the variety of presentation to Woodrow
Wilson’s half-time show on the field during
football season given by the Twirlers, Ri
fles, Silks and Honor Guard of the “Golden
Rams” Marching Band. With their precise,
graceful movements and skilled marching
maneuvers, they coordinate well with the
marching band’s music. Always lively and
never tiring, keeping in time with a plea-
sent program, the girls radiant spirit and
enthusiasm adds to their success and color
fulness during half-time shows. They re
present our school by leading the band in
many area parades, adding a fine touch of
distinction to Wilson’s performing band.
The result of the girls superb performance
on the field is from their hard work during
the summer and after school, and their
band spirit. It all ends much too quickly
with that dazzling smile and the rising
hope in all the members of being twice as

The stage band finished their second
season, following last year’s comeback. Un
der the direction of Mr. Byron Kindig, six
teen students form the small musical
group. They have played at several PTA
meetings in addition to their own shows.
Performances are also given at the Munici
pal Building during the summer months.
The students that make up the small
group had to come back to school at seven
and worked hard for the next two hours,
while they perfected their music. Their
music has varied from some of the Beetho
ven style to modern day and has provided
the students with some very exciting as
semblies. The concert band is comprised of
students in the marching and stage band,
and also, those students taking lessons in
school. They are under the direction of Mr.
Byron Kindig and give performances in
their annual Spring Concert, graduation
ceremonies and play at the award ceremo

The pep club, for the 1975-76 school
year, was considered very successful by all
involved. The club continued the Wilson
tradition of good, clean fun and excitement
along with their tremendous and enthusi
astic spirit. Meetings of this highly spirited
group were every Wednesday at the end of
the school day, to paint signs and plan
cheers for the coming sports events. The
illustration of their devotion is the cheers
at the games. The club also continues to
notify all, by keeping the weekly school
events calendar up to date.
The Woodrow Wilson chorus is a dedi
cated group of students, who practice ear
nestly, to be able to present fine choral
music to its audiences. Mr. William Hil-
denbrand, director of the chorus, expresses
that some of his goals are to promote
school spirit, to ensure a meaningful learn
ing experience for the chorus members and
to entertain and to share the music with
people outside of the school environment.

The Naval Junior Reserve Officer Train
ing Corps program or N.J.R.O.T,C., as it is
commonly called, offers many Wilson stu
dents the opportunity to learn and exper
ience phases of Naval life.
Headed by, Commander Richard 0.
Young and Chief Yoeman Harry Bucking
ham, the N.J.R.O.T.C. unit is taught basic
Naval skills that will aid them in a Naval
career. Through this Naval program, many
students may obtain scholarships to var
ious Naval academies. Once in these acade
mies, a student learns the skills to become
a commissioned officer. Members of the
N.J.R.O.T.C. participate in drill team com
petition and exhibitions. Our drill team
bas displayed excellent performances in lo
cal competitions. Another activity that the
N.J.R.O.T.C. has attended, was the Army-
Navy football game held at J.F.K. stadium
in Philadelphia. Highlighting the Naval
trips was a journey to a mini-boot camp in
Cape May, New Jersey. This week-long en

Student involvement join to build a better Wilson.

New ideas that benefit and increase
awareness of Woodrow Wilson students
are the creations of Student Involvement.
The members of this organization meet on
a regular basis where a few student repre
sentatives can express their opinions and
thoughts about situations in Woodrow
Wilson High School and methods of im
proving them. Together, Mr. Larry Bosley
(Principal), Dr. Jacob Daily (Superinten
dent), and Mrs. Margaret Bell (School
Board), discuss the suggestions of im
provement with the students and other
school board members and arrive at practi
cal solutions. These solutions are then put
into effect to develop a better learning sit
uation in the classroom and to promote a
feeling of togetherness between adminis
tration and the student population.Ever
yone involved in their club has the desire
to make Woodrow Wilson a unit that deals
with problems in an open manner.
Through this openness, all students and
faculty are given the opportunity to exist Student Involvement: S T A N D I N G L E F T T O R I G H T : Pat Citro, Lori Panizzi, Jody Volpe, Diane

High academic standards challenges N.H.S.

Involvement in Wilson’s school func
tions and still excelling and maintaining
high academic achievement is a difficult
and challenging task to surmount. These
are some of the requirements for students
to become a part of the organization known
as N.H.S. or the National Honor Society.
Those students chosen for membership
must maintain a high academic average,
but also involve themselves in extra cur
ricular activities. Again, this year, the
N.H.S. is offering a tutoring program for
the students in the elementary schools of
Bristol Township, which has been very
successful in past years. Hopefully, these
students will continue and channel their
talents towards useful and involved exper
iences. Elected to N.H.S. office were: seat

After getting a late start in the 1975-76 school
year, Intergroup Council became active
throughout the school year. Mrs. Elizabeth
Mertz, sponser of Intergroup, impressed upon
the members that the priorities of the Council
was to serve the needs of the community. This
encompassed activities such as, collection of
food from Wilson students to be distributed to
families during the Christmas season and a fair
held in the spring, with the proceeds going to
charity. This year’s Intergroup can boast of a
successful and meaningful year for all students
involved in Intergroup and for the people that
benefited from the students’ efforts. Through
their hard work, they have created a better rela
tionship between the community and the school.
Part of Intergroup is the Student Forum, which
represents the student body at state meetings.
Consisting of four students, they deal directly
with Mr. Pittenger, Pennsylvania’s Director of
Education, on solving problems that concern
high school students. The students that repre

which are carried back to the home school,
to improve Wilson in any way possible.

Interact is an organization that is con

students involved in this club are working
towards this goal. They investigate what
lines are open to include the community in
school functions and promote these func
tions throughout the community. Their ef
forts are rewarded by creating good will for
the Woodrow Wilson student, by gaining
respect and admiration of the business
people and parents within our immediate
area. With the guidance of Joe Schein, this
group is one of many at Wilson that bene
fits the school. Students for a better soci

their organization. The club promotes,

Students who are interested in gaining
an awareness of foreign cultures, have the
opportunity to further these interests
through the language clubs. The clubs were
developed with the goal of broadening stu

that exist outside our Nation’s boundaries.

In today’s world of competition existing
among us in a variety of ways, the scholas
tic student has not been neglected. Math
letes offers students an opportunity to
match their knowledge of algebra, geome
try, trigonometry and calculus against that
of other students in area high schools. In
their short season, the small team attended
competitions at area high schools. The con
testants attempt to solve five problems, at
the rate of five minutes each without the
aid of a calculator. The team received one
point for each correct answer, given by a
student. Each competitor must use con

Mrs. Felkner, sponsor of the Future

the goals for the club as those that will
increase the students awareness of the
business world and to emphasize the skills
needed, in any aspect of an occupation
dealing with business. To achieve these
goals, the club traveled to offices in the
area and students observed a typical day in

Future Health Professions is an organi
zation to acquaint students with the differ
ent types of health professions, and re
quirements and qualifications necessary to
enter that field. Organizing and planning
the program for the year was held in Sep
tember. Plans were made that included
having FHP members attend the Explorer
Club meeting and cake sales to raise mon
ey, to provide a needy family with a
Thanksgiving basket. For Christmas, the
club made stockings and stuffed them with
candy for the pediatric ward at Lower
Bucks and Delaware Valley Hospital. In
January, there was a first aid course of
fered, which was sponsored by the Levit-

junction with the FHP club at Del Haas
High School. A demonstration in CPR was
held in the spring, which offered an inter

Organian Entities is a science club that
deals with aerospace, astronomy. Star Trek

explore many aspects of the science world.
Activities planned by the club included, an
issue of their literary magazine, Organian
Enti’zine, field trips to the planetarium in
Trenton and several Star Trek conven
tions. The club’s most enterprising activity
was to construct a model of the USS Enter
prise transporter room and entered in an
art and model contest at the Star Trek
convention.

Members of the Debate and Forensics
team utilize their speaking talent in com
petition with other students from area high
schools. Students can develop their speech
abilities through informatative, persuasive,
poetry, prose and extemp speeches, along
with debates. Their activities were not con
fined to within the county, as there were
trips to such places as, the University of
Massachusetts and Kings Point College in
Wilkes-Barre. Involvement in the debate
and speaking areas leads students towards
a better understanding in the development
of speech, which will be used in the rest of
their lives. This year’s team was relatively
small, but Mr. Grecco, looking into the fu
ture, hopes to build up the underclassmen
and develop more interest in the club.
The goal of the Epsilon Society is a bet
ter understanding of “Men and Nations”.
Its members study and discuss the various
countries of the world in all their aspects,
with the conviction that such a pursuit will
not only discipline the minds of its mem
bers, but also make a positive contribution
to the innumerable efforts that are being
made here in the U.S. and all over the
world to make this planet a better place for
human habitation. Membership of this so
ciety is open to both faculty and the stu
dent body. This year, being the BiCenten-
nial year, we are studing, those countries of
the early immigrants, from which the seeds
of freedom and human dignity were sown,
which have made this land the great and
powerful nation that it is today.

A not uncommon sight at Wilson are the
projectors being ushered down the halls by
one of the members of the A.V. crew. These
students, under the direction of Mr.
George Hopely, have many responsibilities
besides those of delivering equipment to
teachers. The A. V. department was re
sponsible for photographic coverage of
sporting events and school activities
throughout the year. The photographers
were constantly capturing the student
body on film. These students also help to
develop slide presentations, which are
shown to the student body, sucb as a slide
program that was shown before tbe Christ
mas holiday and another presentation that
was based on the senior year of the gradu
ates.
The broadcasting class is offered at Wil

the course are to familiarize students with
the operation of a radio station, to develop
speech skills and to help students prepare
for third class license from the Federal
Communication Commission. This year,
Mike Melnyk, has been on the air each
morning with a music show before home

The tech school works together with stu
dents from 7 school districts, one of which
is Wilson, to prepare them with a future
living and to educate them in a specific
vocational or technical field. Tech provides
these students with a work environment,
rather than classroom surroundings, to
simulate working activities. The school’s
alternative goal is to train them to become
able and dependable workers in the field of
their choice. Tech opportunities are so
vast, a student could be instructed in al
most any area of his or her choice. There
are 50 fields of education that students
could choose from in fulfilling his or her
future goal. Three organizations that help
to promote interest at the tech school are
VICA, a club that develops a studen’s lead
ership qualities, DECA, a club which aids
the students of Distributive Education in
store management, and FFA, a club which
helps deepen the interest in plant life of
the Horticulture — Florticulture students.

Many students receive a worthwhile ex
perience through participation in the work
experience program. This program, under
the direction of Mr. DeFranco and Mr.
Tullo, provides students with on-the-job-
training and experience. The students in
volved, receive employment with direct
help from the school. After a job is secured,
a student is given a shortened school day,
which includes those subjects needed for a
diploma. The remainder of the day is uti
lized for on-the-job training. The student
is placed in a work situation and begins
training to acquire skills necessary to per
form in that particular job placement. It is
a worthwhile program for those students
who wish to channel their interests in other
areas besides those that concern academic
work.

Ram’s Horn reports the news of Wilson and School

Store allows students to buy school supplies.

In their third consecutive year as the
voice of Wilson, the Ram’s Horn staff is
very proud of their newspaper. With the
prevailing guide that “if its worth doing, its
worth doing well”, the newspaper staff
dedicates itself to producing an honest and
interesting reflection of life at Wilson. Spe
cial attention is given to the main occur
ences at Wilson. The articles are written by
students and given a students version of
what’s going on at Wilson. With the aid
and direction of Mrs. Lindenmuth, the
staffs efforts are indeed appreciated by
Wilson students.
Bright, cheerful faces greet Wilson stu
dents each morning, as a warm, “May I
help you?” rings out from Your Friendly
School Store. Stocked with a wide assort
ment of merchandise. Your Friendly
School Store stands by its motto — WE
DON’T MAKE MONEY, WE MAKE
FRIENDS. Showing consideration for the
hardworking Wilson students, it also opens
each day after school serving ice-cold coke,
chips, pretzels, candy, and other delicious
refreshments. Profits earned go to assist
student activities where needed. Example
— did you know Your Friendly School
Store paid for the cost of the buffet at the
Honors Night Program? But don’t take
my word for it — drop by and visit us
anytime. We’re located at the friendliest
corner of the building, just follow all the

The Drama Club’s production of “Bye- clubs 167
Bye Birdie”, proved to be one of the high
lights of the 1975-76 school year. The ac
tors and actresses put in an endless
amount of hours in order to give an out
standing performance for its audience. Mr.
Lou Volpe and Mrs. Sheila Weiss were in
strumental in casting and directing the
musical. With their help and guidance, the
cast overcame the challenge of performing
a musical. The play was presented four
nights, with closing night being the most
exhilerating of all for the cast. One of the
most difficult tasks which surrounded the
play was costuming. This soon was re
solved with the fashion talents of Miss
Mary Kearns. The costumes were created
with her direction and her flair for costume
design. Musical direction was given by Mr.
Bill Hildenbrand and Mr. Byron Kindig.
Their talents were invaluable towards the
success of the show. Out of view from the Fonzie??!!
audience, are those students involved with
the stage work. These students must co
ordinate the stage settings as the play pro
gresses. The stage crew is responsible for
set design, sound and lighting. Mr. Tom
Kervitsky works with the Drama Club and
Stage Crew in order to maintain a smooth
running show.

Yearbook Staff efforts

rewarded by giving lasting

memories to Wilson students
Students waiting for yearbook assembly to begin.
Time and effort are the important fac
tors in producing any yearbook. Thanks to
a dedicated group of students, Wilson has
more than just a yearbook. It contains the
combined talents of many individuals, who
have attempted to create a book that is a
true representation of the entire student
body. As you view and read your yearbook,
we hope that each student will find a sec
tion or a picture that will depict and reflect
a part of each person. The staff gratefully
acknowledges the assistance and support
given to the staff by faculty members and
members of the student body. Special
thanks to Tom Wisnewski, for his artwork
on the divider pages; Lisa George, Karen
Allen and Kathy Green for their combined
efforts to meet deadlines; Chris Marlow for
his encouragement and support; Tom Ker-
vitsky and the photography crew for pho
tos; and Miss Gilroy’s students for their
patience and understanding during the
pressure of deadlines. Again, sincere
thanks to all who made this book possible.
