ilH football

This year s football team showed signs of
improvement, as they finished 4-5-1 over
all, and 2-3 in League action under Coach
Neumann’s first year’s direction. The
Rams fell half a game short of a .500 sea
son.
The team began slow, but put it together
as they tied Melvern Prep and won the
next two against Council Rock and Bethle
hem Catholic. The next two games proved
to be the toughest as the Rams couldn’t
come up with a victory against Delhaas and
Neshaminy.
Wrapping up the home stand, the Ram’s
defeated North Catholic 7-0. In closing the
season, the Rams thawed out of a 6-0 defi
cit against Bensalem in the first half. The
Ram’s defense gave the team support as
they scored a safety and set up the two
touchdowns in a 16-6 comeback.

The Woodrow Wilson Field Hockey
Team has just completed its most success
ful season in many years. Compiling a 5-6-
3 record, the team’s most impressive victo
ry this year was the 9-0 shutout over Arch
bishop Kennedy.
Scoring eight goals this season, Junior
Maureen Kearney led the offensive unit,
while Cyn Schleiker dominated games with
her defensive play.
Linda Meany and Kim Curtain served as
Co-Captains throughout the season.

The Woodrow Wilson Ice Hockey Team
finished their second year much stronger
than their opening season, but still not as
successful as they are looking forward to be
doing in the future. Coached by Mr. Larry

Mr. Rich Puchino, the Golden Rams sup
port their hockey interests themselves.
Paying for equipment and rink rental, they
are representative of the Wilson dedication
to succeed. Losing only several players,
again this year, most of the Golden Rams

The mark of a dedicated gymnast is
bruises and calluses. These marks are an
indication of an athlete that is hard work
ing and strives for perfection. Most gym
nasts, not only have the task to perform a
stunt correctly, they must also perform
with grace and poise. These are the goals of
the Wilson, boys’ and girls’, gymnastic
team. The boys’ gymnastic team fin
ished their season with eight wins and
eight losses. They proved to be a strong
competitor against area teams. The girls’
gymnastic team did not do as well, though Therry Chase hopes the beam will be there when she comes down.
there were girls who endeavored to make
the Wilson team a winner. Their record for
the season was two wins and ten losses. But
coach, Helen Cantwell, hopes for an im

The 1975-76 Girl’s Swim Team was the most
enthusiastic team we had for a long time. Co-cap
tains Janette Young and Gabrielle Santos, proved to
be very good leaders. A record of three victories
and nine defeats was the best record in the past
eight years. Seniors Pat Citio, Karen Allen, and
Cynthia Robidoux, along with Janett and Gabby,
did an outstanding job. Underclassmen Kathy Al
bright, Eileen Hannah, Karen Hunt, Sue Benedict,
Lucia Citio and Nancy Walterick contributed
many points to many meets, which made them all
very interesting. New-comers Colleen Hannah in
And they say swimming is good for your health. diving competition, will add to the program for the
next two years. Elaine McCurlin and Karen Haine
have worked very hard and improved their stroke
mechanics very well. They will swim for two more
years and will be point getters. Without Stephanie
Marlow, as manager, we would not have functioned.
Entering into what was believed to be the most
promising year of competitive swimming here at
Woodrow Wilson, the team encountered obstacles
which they overcame with their competitive stam
ina and enduring stride.
The Bristol Township A.A.U. program which
feeds the High School swimming team, the ability
of good athletes to totally commit themselves to a
sport, and the team’s strong efforts for a winning
season, were the main encouragement for the team
throughout the season.
Jim Kline and Tony Ludwig, senior co-captains,
both qualified for the District Championship along
with diver-team-mate Shaughn Richardson. This
threesome brought home to Wilson the majority of
wins and points and set a fine example in the
■ .......
winning Wilson tradition. Though the swim team’s
overall record was four wins and eight losses, we
appreciated their efforts.

Shaughn takes a dive. Kathy Albright takes first again.

Lower Bucks County League Cham

cheerleaders remain leaders of school spirit

Who are they? They never miss a sport
ing event throughout the school year. Nev
er failing in school spirit. Could it be, yes it
is, the Wilson Cheerleaders. Their never
ending spirit is always a plus at any game,
whether it be football, basketball or wres
tling. All teams need to know that someone
is supporting their efforts and this task is
filled successfully by the Woodrow Wilson
cheerleaders. Constantly practicing to im
prove their poise and style, these girls nev
er stop giving an extra boost that is so
often needed at a close game. Leading the
spectators in active participation, they are
always ready to give 100 percent. Along
with their sponsor, Mrs. Eileen Schein, the
girls help to maintain spirit and loyalty to
our team. Thanks to these girls is neces
sary for their time and effort given
throughout the school year. Three cheers

The “Golden Rams” Marching Band is
in its second year of rebuilding under the
direction of Mr. Bryon L. Kindig. The
marching band program has been greatly
changed, such changes include the pur

summer band camp, and hiring a full in

The 1975 edition of the Marching Band,
under Drum Majors Evelyn Jakubowicz

Herbie Hancock tune is the concert num
ber. The color presentation is to the main
themes from the Third Movement of
Pchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony, “The
Pathetique”. Then follows a percussion
solo leading to the exit number, Michael

This year’s band has fifty musicians
