Everyone wos very proud and ex
cited. In May we held o semi- for

live music. We're sure everyone
looked forward to this event and
we know it was successful. The

The 1978 Wilson Pvoms football teom
held surprises for everyone. The team was
considered to be in o rebuilding year yet
challenged strongly for the LDCL title. After
losing the first three gomes the Roms went
on to win five of the next seven regular
season gomes. Only o loss to Delhoos in the
lost gome of the season denied the Roms on
outright championship. Wilson tied with Coun
cil Rock, Pennsbury, ond Mople Point for the
regular seoson chompionship. The Roms lost
28-6 to Council Rock in the ployoffs, but cer
tainly should be proud of their ochievement
for 1978. The team was led by coptoins John
Koch ond John Henry. Seniors Rick Drown,

Wayne Huggins, Scott Spicer, ond Morty
Musho, ployed o large port in the Roms' suc
cesses. Defenders, Pot Jodzio, and Joe

The girls' Field Hockey team, this
season, experienced o very frustrating
season. The team storted off this yeor,
with a week at comp, learning new
concepts, eight hours o doy. Coming
bock from comp, the teom was look
ing forword to o rewording year. After
losing their first three gomes, the team
ployed In hockey- romo ond finished o
respectable third. Entering the middle
of the season, the team got tough
and won the next two gomes. Follow
ing the second victory, the team
played the next three gomes in over
time. Though they lost oil three, they
gave the perenniol powers o real
score. The team finished their season
with o double victory, one over
Delhoos ond the other, in overtime to
Densolem. The teom wos pleased
with its performonce and with the
leadership of Fuzzy Bedekovic, Jane
Dieri ond Janet Herman. They ore
looking forward to o very successful
season next yeor.

The Rom's 1978 soccer squod suffered on
extremely disoppointing seoson, winning only
1 motch. The lost-ploce Lower Ducks County
Leogue finish wos the worst ronking in over o
decode. A poor turn-out of ployers plogued
the 9th grode ond JV levels, os well os vorsi-
ty. Combined with injuries, this left us ot o
severe disodvontoge. Despite the poor
record, the squod wos in most gomes right
up until the finol whistle. We were tied with
powerful Neshominy-Longhorne ond Penns-
bury until the lost minutes. Co-Coptoin Tom
Ennis wos selected to the All-Lower Ducks 1st
teom ot midfield. He olso received votes for
best goolkeeper; this is the first time thot
onyone in the leogue hos received votes ot 2
positions. All-Leogue Honoroble Mention wos
received by Mork Popineou, John Cosole, Dill

be commended for trying their best, Dest
wishes to those ployers returning for next

The 1978-79 Girls' Tennis Team ex

year. With the addition of their new coach,

wos smashing orchrivol Delhoos, both times,
with 7-0 scores. The girls also ended the
season on o good note, beating Maple Point
in o close 4-3 gome, which hod to be con

The 1978-1979 wrestling season
has been difficult due to o lock of ex
perienced wrestlers. They ore oil leorn-
ing and improving their wrestling skills
rapidly. The Roms recently won, bock
to bock, dual meets over North
Cotholic 28-22 and Hamilton, N.J.,
38-18. In the North Cotholic Match,
Pins were recorded by Terry Sampson,
114 lbs., Joe West, 1 87 lbs., and Brion
Goodrow, heovyweight. In the
Hamilton West meet, the Boms were
led by Joe Settle, 105 lbs., Terry
Sompson, 114 lbs., Tom Cheddor, 140
lbs., Jeff Horris, 169 lbs., and Brian
Goodrow, heovyweight, oil whom
recorded pins. Currently, the Boms
hove o 3-8 record on the vorsity level
ond o 4-7 record on the Junior varsity
level. Two wrestlers with outstanding
individuol records on vorsity ore Jeff
Horris 11-1-1 ond Brian Goodrow
10-3-1. On December 22, both Jeff
and Brion won championship titles in
the Delhoos Christmos tournoment. At
Delowore Volley College, Jeff Harris
once again took the chompionship,
while Keith Miyamoto, Chuck Hill, Tom
Cheddor, ond Brian Goodrow placed
second.

This years Boys' Basketball team is com
prised of seven seniors, Mark Austin, Horry
Worrell, Tony Colemon, John Koch, Chuck
Pollard, Lou Kotono, ond Jeffrey Blount ond
three juniors, Dwayne "WOO" Collins, Lorry
"PEANUT" Robb ond Bernord Hedgepeth. Our
pre-league seoson schedule wos tough,
because we were pitted against teoms such
OS; North Cotholic, Arch Bishop Carroll and
Arch Bishop Ryan. These gomes helped us to
prepare the level club for leogue ploy. The
young men of this years bosketboll team hod
o tremendous desire to moke Woodrow
Wilson number one in Lower Bucks County
Bosketboll Leogue. They played with on en-
thusiosm and hustle, thot mokes them one of
the most exciting teoms to wotch in Lower

This year Woodrow Wilson proudly
welcomed bock the Swim Teom which
was dropped by the school directors two
years ago. Along with o few swimmers
from Delhoos high school, the team
begon procticing in October with o com
bined effort to form o Bristol Township
teom. Although the mojority of the team
consisted of beginners, the teom did foirly
well. In spite of their lock of experience,
the swimmers kept the scores close with o
few strong, well experienced teams.
Although the teom was not acknowledg
ed by the Ducks County League, those
with qualifying times were permitted to
go to the district finals. Don Allen, one of
the teoms strongest swimmers, was one
such person. Though their season ended
with o record of two ond six, the teom
was proud to defeat Maple Point twice
and were greatly occloimed for their ef
forts. The men's team wos coached by Mr,
Jeff Evans ond the girls team wos cooch-
ed by Mr. Pot Picariello ond Mr. Wolker
from Delhoos.
