A Message From the Past President

Dear Members,

We were hoping for some newspaper coverage for the reception for Micah as the new Head Golf Professional
at HCC, so I contacted Bill Kirby at the newspaper. He was more than glad to attend, but he asked an
interesting question. “Jim, where in the Club is the plaque located showing all the prior golf pros at HCC?
I’d like to reference some of them also in the article.”

So at that point I commissioned Amy and Micah to start researching the history of HCC Golf Professionals
and General Managers. We have created two plaques to display this information and add to the history pres-
ent in our hallways.

So thank you to Amy for months of digging and pouring over old newsletters and minutes. And thank you
to Marshall Waren for his encyclopedia like knowledge of the history of HCC. And to Micah and Lee Forbis
for filling in some gaps for the Golf Pros.

Please let Amy know if you like them, or if there need to be any changes.

Here’s to Highland Country Club. The past, present and future.

Jim Pittman, Past President
